There was an update where character ai shares the activity of people under the age of 18 to their parents, which pretty much made me quit along with the timeout every time I say anything pretty much. The video I saw was by Aiphlosion I think their username was, could be a little ways off. Anyway, apparently they email parent and show the bots they've been talking to and their time using the app, and are going to expand on it. Now it's not like I'm using weird bots or doing anything bad (not that the filters would let me) but it feels like a huge invasion of privacy, and also I don't want character ai to be messaging my parents about that, it's just weird and makes me anxious.
Guys! If y’all want to solve this problem make and new account then make sure you set your age as 20+ years old because it works well, plus no timeouts, no sensitive bots, stop complaining and move your personas to your new account
@jakelovesgodandjesus well you know google? make a another account on there first and also you get to keep your old account still but you are just making another new account, make sure to set your birthday at least 20 years old and after you are done setting up your another account on google you go on Character AI and press continue with google account and press the new email that you had made in google then it will ask you to set your birthday on Character Ai, make sure to set it 20+ years old and there you are done. But if you already have account log out and click on continue with email then click on the new email you made and boom! Just make sure if you have personas to copy them down on notes and copy paste them on your new account after setting it up, so you get to keep role playing as them.

Character AI has also made it *IMPOSSIBLE* to make new characters that aren't unlisted or private, so i guess no new characters for us! I honestly hate it now.

As a person who uses the browser version, I can confirm I don't get time outs, but I still get the message of the AI being like "This doesn't match our guidelines" so I literally just say what I think it was going to say then continue, and also I've had the rewind feature since like forever, are app users only getting this now? The browser doesn't have group chats though, which sucks, if there's one thing I want Character AI to add, it's the ability to use group chats on the browser again since the old (better) one was shut down.

I haven’t been affected by any of these changes, actually. I use the app, which you’d expect it to be worse, but it’s not. I’ve been having sick fight scenes and other stuff and it doesn’t trigger the filter until you make it like VERY VERY specific. These updates make me think they don't want the users on their platform
I haven’t been affected by any of these changes, actually. I use the app, which you’d expect it to be worse, but it’s not. I’ve been having sick fight scenes and other stuff and it doesn’t trigger the filter until you make it like VERY VERY specific. Yeah, there have been updates, but I haven’t experienced the timeout system at all. I don’t know how long it will stay this way though.

The rewind existed on the website but not in the app
same as the app had the timeout and the website didn't

Rewind isn't new, that's probably a bug that people didn't experience having the option to rewind.

Literally ALL of the problems character AI has, I have NOT been affected by, hell an AI LITERALLY said sex, and it didn't get tagged, the bots I have don't repeat stuff, I don't get timed out (Prob cause I made my account age 18 plus)
