When that yellow came out in the second one, I almost freaked out 😭
Uses different technology to the others, the Kodak uses what is called Dye-sublimation thermal transfer, so it prints one colour at the time and then the last time it will add a waterproof coating. i am thinking of getting the Canon Selphy that uses the same technology. I have not really looked into the zinc printing technology, which the other printer uses.
Dye-sublimation thermal transfer is used in large printing presses these days as well.
@@zyborg47 can you link that canon printer please
@@93vincentvalentine www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/details/printers/mobile-compact-printer/cp1300-bkn
That is from the U.S site, and the one i decided to get in the end. It is pretty good to be honest, not that I have used it as much as i thought i would .,
I gasped when I saw it💀
The printer took it back like oops my bad lmao
The kodak's quality is the best, but it took so long to print
Worth the quality I guess
Anon it’s because the quality is good that it takes long to print
I think the kodak need ink too
@@ranimon_n really? :/
@@donaldducksazzcheeks Think ink comes with the paper combined in one cartridge.
The HP Sprocket is the best personally but i've already started an instax wall and I want to be consistent with the look :D
Can u use adhesive paper instead of normal paper for HP sprocket?? like to print stickers
@@mina4426 I heard someone say in the comments that the kodak had self adhesive
mina hey I have an HP sprocket and I only use sticky back paper. The HP sprocket brand paper is sticky back
@@Amitylulu
Does it need ink or smthing like that?
@@lavenderbloom9943 hey! I have an older Hp Sprocket and it does not need any ink.
Thanks so much for making this video, now I just have to decide between the Kodak and HP. The Kodak photo quality seem to be better but the price per print is bw 75-85 cents for each vs 50 cents with the HP.
The Kodak printer looks really cool and such a lovely printing process - the picture came out beautifully. It definitely had the best quality for me
I just came in the comments to see y'all's choices 😂
yes me too 😂

My daughter just purchased the HP and she loves it. She is so into photography so I know it must be the best out of them all. By the way you photo is really pretty☺
Would you recommend I purchase one? I've been looking to invest in one of there and what was you opinion on the price?

Anna Dalziel I would not. I just got mine and the quality is really bad. Color is very off and fuzzy!
I'm glad I found this video! Very helpful. Now I'm having a hard time deciding between the HP and Kodak 🤔
The hp is better👍👍
Joy G me too!
Hp works great
@Karim Boudlal HP do a Sprocket+ which print bigger photos
Sofia Vaughan hp prints 2*3 "
This was a great review, but I'm having trouble getting my sprocket to print in the quality as shown here. Mine are much darker than the original photo, and when you adjust the brightness, it prints off shadows in a flat/almost fax like quality. I've figured out how to adjust saturation and hue, but these images here are way better than what I'm getting. Thanks in advance. Just got mine as a gift and am using Samsung S8 to print from.
***** COMING SOON ***** I am doing a **NEW** version of this video featuring the following:
Polaroid Hi-Print
Kodak Mini 2
Lifeprint
HP Sprocket
Kodak Step
Canon Ivy
STAY TUNED!!!!!
Ayyy perfect timing!
Thanks so much for doing these reviews!
Yay

What about Canon Selphy QX10?
HATE the new update on the Polaroid! I can not for the life of me get my pictures to print different shapes like the old app did. Example, square instagram photos get all zoomed in and messed up! It’s caused my so much frustration that I have zero desire to use it. Your video was SO HELPFUL and great to know that i wasn’t alone with the frustration of the new app. Thanks so much for sharing. I immediately ordered the HP printer and so look forward to finish my baby’s journal with it now :)
Have you tried uninstalling the app and downloading and installing the apk file of that older version of the app directly on your phone? (I mean, not installing it through Google Play).
Rob St
Yup that's what I was thinking.
Fujifilm too...
Thanks for this! Totally getting an HP Sprocket, so incredibly cute!
I got a hp sprocket today for Christmas!!! I'm so happy! This was so helpful
I really need one of these for my journaling works. It should be small, portable, chargeable, with best quality of photos and sticky sheets are must and fast too. I do need to get one of them soon so thankyou so much for this video but I want people to tell me more about which one to go with according to my needs. According to me, I will definitely love to go with the HP Sprocket because I find that one's the best and fulfills all my need of sticky papers too and best for journaling. But I want you people to tell me too.
Nicole, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!
Even though you did mention you think that the HP is the best, overall I think that you were VERY fair because each product was shown side by side. I liked how we could see everything from the unit, to the paper, to the app, to the finished product.
This is what made this a perfectly fair comparison. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
just made me want the hp sprocket even more! thank you for the review! im glad i found it before i made the purchase!
I'm so glad I found this video! It's much better than getting a polaroid instax mini. You can carefully pick out a picture and edit it beforehand.
TFS, I have been considering one of these. Your comparison has made my decision easier.
Andrea McCray which printer did you decide?
what did you shoot this video with? it's the best video I've seen, I'm actually able to see the difference in picture quality.
Loved the video, next year im going on a year long trip and Im gonna be doing a travel journal, so thank you for being so informative on the printers !!
Very good review. I was considering a little instant print camera for my 12 year old granddaughter. Her mom is a professional photographer. But maybe one of those mini printers may be a better option instead. This way she can pre view her pictures & add special effects if she prefers on her iPhone first. Thanks again for sharing!📸
Thorough, detailed, lots of products, and very calming narration - thank you!!! So helpful
Appreciate the multi-device review. Helps so much with decision making. Great job!
i had a kodak instant camera in the 70s and the bulkiness at the back of the photo in the fuji is actually the negative so you can go and have another picture taken from that!
Great review, thank you! I have the LG (before that I had the first edition Polaroid Pogo, with the enormous charger!) and I've been lusting over a Sprocket for no particular reason other than the fact that it is pretty! Seeing this review means I can rest easy that the HP isn't vastly better.
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I really liked seeing the time it took to print each photo as well as how the apps behaved. You've really helped me make my choice !!
the fujifilm picture would’ve came out better but you didn’t keep it in a dark area when it was developing, you exposed to really bright lights
Thank you so much for the video. I already knew I wanted the HP sprocket lol, but now, seeing them working and the results side by side it makes everything easier
Great video and loved the side by side comparison!!! I want the HP Sprocket!
As I observed HP and Kodak are same output and colour quality base on tablet viewer. I like kodak, But choose HP because its borderless printing.
So glad I came across this video during my search for which one to get! Decided on the HP between it and the Kodak because the refills are cheaper and there is a cyberweek deal on amazon that makes both appliances cost the same. Super excited to get it!
Thanks for making this video. I was right about to buy the Polaroid Zip but this made me change my mind and I'm going to go with the Hp Sprocket. I also saw a lot of recent reviews on amazon saying the new Polaroid app doesn't work properly and the pictures are coming out dark. I'm not expecting perfection, as long as the photos come out decent.
This video was so helpful, thank you! I'll be attempting to pick up the HP Sprocket ASAP !!!
I gave the HP Sprocket to my daughter for Xmas a year ago....haven't
used it yet but on our to do list now after the video.
How many prints to do you get from the HP before the battery dies? How many prints from the Kodak before the battery dies?
The HP can print approximately 30 photos per charge.
I have a polaroid zip I'm pretty happy with. I print the pics and put them in my journal to accompany my entries which work really well so the sticker paper is really cool for me. It's really neat to see such a comprehensive comparison though and I'll consider the others if I ever need to replace mine.
I have a canon selphy square qx10 and its amazing quality
Hi Nicole thanks a ton for this insanely informative video I was set on buying the sprocket until I watched your video I just ordered the Kodak mini for quality. Haven't even heard of it till your review thanks again! 😙
I don't get why so many people say Polaroid when they mean Fuji Instax. If you try to buy Polaroid film for your Instax camera or printer you're going to get the wrong film. Polaroid isn't a generic name for instant film.
Verdoux007 it is like how many people call all bandages bandaids or call all face tissues Kleenex.
yes it is a generic name...that's why people say it all the time
Yeah but Polaroid and instax instant films are compatible. You can use either film in either brands’ product. Only the Zink paper doesn’t work for non zip printers.
Probably because Polaroid invented the instant camera?
@@c1nico Polaroid and Instax cameras both have a wide variety of films. Some are cross compatible, some aren't.
Best review that I’ve seen so far for portable printers!!! Thank you!
Very helpful! I like the Sprocket and Polaroid so far.
Get the sprocket, Polaroid has ruined it with the new app and low quality printing
Thank you so much for doing this video! It was very helpful to actually be able to see how to operate each app and to see the quality of each photo.
OMG!!! Thank you for doing this video, I has hesitating on which printer to buy (HP/Polaroid) and with this video you've helped me picked the best printer for me. Please keep posting informative videos. Thanx a bunch!!!!
maria obando which one did u chose?
Hi Trini, I purchased the HP Sprocket and it's great. We recently had a mini vacation and we printed pics for everyone and the image was awesome!!!! Hope this helps you
maria obando thanks you so much! Glad u r enjoying the printer! Have a good day! ❤️
THIS VIDEO HELPED ME ALOT!!!
i didn't know which one to get! my friends and i go to raves a lot and wanted to start our own scrap book, someone we meet had the pollard camera and it was fun to use but to big to carry so we wanted to get a little printer one but didn't know which one to get until we saw this video! thanks so much!!
we going with the HP and the instant 2nd edition for the old fashion look.
Thank you for this awesome video. I'm ordering the Sprocket. I can't wait to get it!!!
Very helpful video! I have the LG and I wasn't sure if there was better quality out there. I may have to splurge on the HP....
I recently got the hp sprocket and it is amazing. My favourite part about it is the ability to edit the pictures and put different borders, writing and stickers on them. Can the others do that?
Kawaii TS4 I know the Zip can
Kawaii TS4 the lg can too
Kawaii TS4 heyy wanted to ask if u can add Polaroid styled borders with it or not !?
Thank you for the comparison. I have the Polaroid Zip which is really nice then my husband bought me the HP Sprocket Kit from QVC and I was wondering on the differences.
Thanks for the review:)
This video is very helpful, cause im looking for a printer with a good photo quality. Im intrested in the HP sprocket and the kodak photo printer
I love my HP Sprocket. I used it for my daughters baby book that does scrapbooking pics. Perfect memories for her later in life.
I love the Kodak because its just so fun to watch it go in and out 😂
Thank you. I have been wanting the HP Sprocket for a while but i also liked another. This made my decision much easier.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video! It was very helpful!
hp sprocket🙌🏼
I have the 2 in 1 and I love it always with me always in my bag , also had a Kodak one few years back and absolutely loved it the quality on photos was amazing but wouldn't trade my sprocket 2 in 1 😁
Gloriiss C.E did you have the Kodak mini 2? And which one would you reccomend.. the hp sprocket or Kodak?
Can u please make an update about the durability of each prints? Which one last longer?
This was brilliant. I appreciate all the details and prices. Looking forward to getting an HP Sprocket thanks to your video
great video! i got my HP Sprocket and film directly from the HP website. They had better prices, especially on the film, and free 2 day shipping! I realoy like the editing on the HP app also. It has all sorts of fun borders, stickers, text, etc.
Great job on this video. I think topics you can talk about next are: photo quality (as in lasting power, will it fade or not), also the price per photos and ink cost (if any). Often HP sells cheap printer but their inks are over priced.
I love my LG!
hi what paper you buy for your lg. sorry my english
We need this video updated!!! I cant find a good review nowadays huhu can you do this again? 🥰🥰🥰
I have a bunch of new ones on my channel. Check them out! If there’s another one you want to see let me know!
I just ordered the hp sprocket and I’m so excited!!!
how was it?
Abigail Acosta honestly it’s okay but if you have pictures you’ve edited and all they won’t come out too well. I think the canon ivy will be better if you’re interested in a mini printer.
Awesome and very thorough review of these printer options. Thanks! I had only known about the Polaroid ZIP and I'm so glad I learned about the HP Sprocket!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
thank you for doing a comparison on there ! i would like to ask out of all of these - OVERALL photo quality & price point (including printing paper & cartridges - if needed) & on the go - which one would you prefer ? i am planning on purchasing one soon .
Brilliant comparison video, thank you. So, a year later; are you still loving the sprocket as much? I personally use photo paper from the poundshop (UK version of the dollar store) and my main printer (HP printer which cost me £30!). I use a free app to add the polaroid border and I can print pics in any size that way. I'm going to buy a xyron sticker machine to turn them into stickers too!
The big question is, would you pick the HP Sprocket or the Kodak? I heard the Kodak's DPI is the best out of all these, but does that make the paper more expensive?
I don't think it's more expensive in the long run if you buy the papers and such on Amazon. The quality of the Kodak is so beautiful, but the HP Sprocket is just as great, it's just a different photo processor. I love the sticky paper of the HP Sprocket!
Julie Kent you need to purchase an ink cartridge for kodak to print. It makes it more expensive and much better quality. She said that the cartridge can print up to 30 pictures and you need to replace it. But in hp you don't need any cartridges.
Erica Barriatos but doesn't the hp use paper that you need to replace isn't that the same as the Kodak cartridge , you don't have to buy ink cartridges differently the one package contains paper and ink
and the Kodak has sticky paper and it's also waterproof
A quick check on Amazon lists the following for:
Kodak:
20 pack (2 cartridges of 10) $16.99 = $0.85/picture
30 pack (3 cartridges of 10) $22.99 = $0.77/picture
50 pack (5 cartridges of 10) $34.99 = $0.70/picture
20 pack (2 cartridges of 10) $10.99 = $0.55/picture sticky back
HP: all sticky back papers
20 pack $9.00 = $0.45/picture also listed at $9.45 = $0.47/picture
50 pack $24.99 = $0.50/picture
In my country stores(which are similar to Walmart) have Photo Printing stations. It only costs like 20 cents for a 4 × 8 picture.I always use them and cut them in half and then they´re the same size as the ones of the Video. It is sooo much cheaper than buying a small printer. For a dollar you can get 10 pictures and the film of the ones from the Video is so expensive. If you want 30 pictures itˋd cost like 15 dollars.
Thank u 4 this! I just purchased the Polaroid zip & im not happy with app I have 2 use at all!! Actually thinking about returning it & purchasing a different brand so this video helps a lot!!
Super late comment since you uploaded this a long time ago but this video was super informative and I really appreciated it! Lots of detail and very thorough :)
I ordered my Kodak today! Here in Brazil everything is kinda expensive but thanks to your review I was able to choose. Hp sprocket here is cheaper than kodak but i saw some people posting the printed pictures and they were not so good. I'm already disappointed with a polaroid camera that I bought two years ago. So i'm really hoping that I like the printer. It already come with at least one cartridge?
Explains the little printers perfectly!
Awesome video. Thank you!

thank you SO MUCH for making this. Going on a trip and was looking for exactly this info!
This was so helpful, I Just started looking at these, and there you are comparing all these.
Just wanted to let you know I just saw a go sprocket plus, and it goes about 149.99. Thanks for sharing!
PS...the hp plus is a little bigger, (not much) and is also thinner!
Great video, I'm shopping for these little printers but there's too many to choose from lol anyway, I like the Kodak the best because everything is in a cartridge nice and clean. Being $99 is great. Btw, the Kodak does have waterproof papers and sticker papers.
Hi there Nicole,
Thank you for the review. So far is the only true, complete and with more portabe prrinters that exists on the net.
Im wondering between the HP and Kodak One. I already own an instant camera (LOMO'INSTANT AUTOMAT - Much better than any fujifilm camera out there), so I don't need another printer with the same format. That being said.... the HP is almost the same size and the Kodak is a little bigger.
But the (2) most important question is - Quality and price - How much more per picture will cost me having better quality pictures with the Kodak (so far, the best image quality I understand from the video) than the HP.
In the end, we are talkign about fun photography, not quality. So maybe is wiser due to being smaller and with cheaper paper, to buy the HP.
Do you have any preference between these two, or any new info you cna give?
Thank you for your time.
Kindest Reagrds,
Tom
OK, I just saw there is a Kodak Mini Printer 2 :) - ruclips.net/video/WoInpOgMAcs/видео.html - Featuring sticky paper too :)
The HP sprocket has terrible print quality for me.. Idk if it's because I have an android and maybe it works better for iOS users, but I'm pretty disappointed.
Your instax one came out very white because you can't expose the developing film to too much light or it ends up like that. Just to let you and any one else buying this printer x
This was a cool video, I wish you would have shown how each of them are loaded, but cool nonetheless! Thanks.
Lg, Fujifilm, or Kodak is the best
the zinc film is not all that water proof. I mean the color won't run like some old computer photo printers used to, but any water drop that is immediately blotted off will still leave a dissolved laminate area. The photo will look the same without light on it, but if the light is reflected on it, you will see a fuzzy place where the water dissolved it.
Thanks sooo much for this review! It helped me decide on which one to go with after my Zip died on me. Happy New Year!
The kodak is the noisiest but the picture is really nice! :) this helps me a lot. Thanks!
Great video! Thanks for doing that. I would have gotten a lesser machine if I had not seen the differences in the video.
Which one should i buy? I would like to have the polaroid format/border on my pictures.
Just unsure x
Yellow one
Omg thanks so much for that video, I didn't know there were a lot of other printers that I might consider ❤

Thanks so much for doing this review. It was very helpful!
Thank you, It has helped me Narrow down my purchase to the Fuji or HP
Thanks for this video!! Now I'm trying to decide which one, HP or Kodak
Dont get the HP. I bought it for a Christmas present and the quality is nothing like this video i bought it because i wanted the best quality photo printer and every single picture i print has horizontal lines down the pictures the colour is extremely poor aswell dont listen to her its crap go for a different one honestly.
I agree with you , I have the same problem 😭
Hmm. Mine doesn’t get the horizontal lines.
That’s because of your photo zinc paper became yellow. Get a new zinc photo paper then everything is alright

Thanks so much for the info I was planning on getting the hp sprocket and was wondering if any other brands that sell mini printers. I am definetly still getting the sprocket!
Is there a big difference in paper thickness? I want to put little pics in my journal, but want to minimize the bulk. Thank you for this video!! So helpful 😊
I haven't noticed any difference in thickness.
Nicole Hearts Thank you!! 😊 🙏🏽
I love the idea of the normal polaroid frame but i prefer the quality on the HP Sprocket. So i was wondering .. When you opened up the app for the HP Sprocket there was a white border, can you keep that? or even make the image even smaller to make a full white border around the image? or do you HAVE to make the image full size like you did?
Thank you so much!
The photo printed by the pink one looked the best imo
I got the hp sprocket and it is one of the best thing I have, and it is the same one, and I have carrying case for it and it is small but usefull
