- Duplicate individuals can be found in the Family Tree for a variety of reasons. These can be combined or “merged” so there is only one record for a given person. Merging must be done with care so improper combinations are not done. This class will cover how to analyze duplicate persons and the steps to properly complete a merge.
Thank you for doing this.
Thanks for watching!
I most often find people who need to be merged when I get a research hint for a source that has already been attached to someone else. Sometimes they are the same person with a different PID, but sometimes they just have similar names and information.
Thank you for your help. We are new to Family search and have found someone generated a profile for me. I had also created a profile for myself. Now, my daughter and I are showing we are 8th cousins, and we have been unable to connect. Thank you again. We will try to move forward from this point, as neither of us are tech savvy.
