Still worth it in real world scenarios. I noticed my IATs are significantly lower than the oem box. They are going partially open hood and front bumper removed, thats not really realistic. Though interesting about the eventuri temps regardless.
The COBB Accessport is now available for the FL5. Will be interesting to see if some competition will benefit us end users. From either one. Seems big balls for COBB coming in late to the game, but worth a look moving forward.
👌👍 great news dougie. You guys should start doing water/meth calibrations with your meth relay for those that want a drive in drive out solution. Although I custom tuned mine, 32°f-77°f iat's for me + 400lb/400hp from having 116ron fuel when the meth is active.
WMI tunes are just like Flex tunes; they require significantly more work to develop properly than a typical base map so no one is going to offer it for free just for buying the tuning device. Extras like that are how tuners make their $$.
First thank you for testing I’ve already seen issues with my customers being restricted by the FL5 exhaust. It seems to have a more restrictive exhaust than the FK8. it is possible due to the way the piping is bent over the front pipe, the fact, it has two resonators and the extreme for the mufflers in the back. Regardless, if it has a valve that does not mean it adds power because the valve is all the way to the back of the system, and the restriction is earlier in the system. I have never seen fk8 downpipe open add that much on a stock car.
For that reason, I'd be curious to see dyno results in identical conditions for stock exhaust, front resonator deleted (like Type S stock), and both deleted. The good sounding exhausts are very pricey and don't sound amazing either, I actually prefer the sound of both resonators deleted.
Just send it off the turn around is a little over 48hrs if you pay the extra for overnight. I shipped mine to flordia(Phearable) and I live near Seattle
I’m new to the K20C (1 & 8) engines. I purchased a new 24’ DE5 in June and at present am enjoying the car stock but based on previous history I’m not how long that will last lol. My understanding is the DE5 tune runs some advanced timing which helps it to add power over the FL5 in stock tune. Correct or no? Also, is it safe to run an intake (Eventuri) on an otherwise stock car without tuning? Prior to the DE5 I had a “stage 2” VA WRX (2019) and that engine & ecu combo was very sensitive to any changes in airflow. With my DE5 I want to enjoy it for many many years simply maintaining for longevity & reliability. Thanks in advance.
Correct. The DE5 stock, runs more ignition timing than the FL5. It should be possible to run the Eventuri without a tune as we demonstrated in the dyno comparison, but we have not studied this. As per the comparison the FlashPro makes more power and torque for a lot less money. The (seamless) Hondata traction control and the ability to tune your torque tables makes your DE5 smoother and faster. We plan an interview with an FL5 owner with bolt-ons (including Eventuri) in 2 weeks. He reduced the torque to flatten the torque table which made the car more controllable and fun to drive.
I am surprised the Eventuri intake made power. I am from the BMW world (S55) and everyone likes them for the name and looks but they have been constantly proven to LOSE hp over stock the intake.
how does hondata only have have 31k followers. it should be 1M+
Just saved myself $400 on PRL intake. Thanks

How am I just now finding this page, such helpful information just subscribed!

We learn stuff every time we hit the dyno. The goal here is to educate so you can make more informed decisions.

Hondata I would like 👍 to thank you for the amazing 👏 product you put on the market for us peasants in civics God bless 🙌 you sir.
The modern hot rod is the Honda Civic.
would love to see one of these for an s2000
Stay tuned! 🎉
So are you saying a PRL IC isn’t necessary? I will be running a aftermarket turbo.
Any plans for a Jailbreak tour on east coast or mid-atlantic area? Located on MD and hoping to attend one!
You can hit up IMW in PA pretty quickly.

So intercooler is probably the most important part to upgrade
Nice comparison! Why do you dont recommend a open exhaust?
They probably have to disclose that for emissions reasons

@@dougathondata Thank you for the reply and I look forward to seeing more. I subscribed to your channel.
@@dougathondataplease support the TLX 2.0T with flashpro 🙏
Thank you
every video i see of the PRL intake on a dyno shows a different result. kinda interesting to me
Thus the important lesson to learn on temperatures and the 9 dyno runs it took us to stabilizing power.
@@dougathondata did you guys test any other intakes? curious what the best one would be for power increases
The other are full of shit
Do the Acura TLX TYPE S !!!
Lol I was on the same boat… i traded my apex blue for a 24 fl5
Find someone to lend them one to do it and I’m sure they will.
@@joseperalta8605 I was thinking about trading it for a integra type s or the type r

Why is an open exhaust not recommended
Not environmentally friendly and illegal in many states
what would the tune do with the intake together??
That would be very interesting to test. I suspect that it would be cumulative. ie reflash power + intake power

Hondata you just got played out ❤
