It came with the needle (known as a diamond needle) so I am not sure where to currently get it. I did need to send in the Shure crystal pickup cartridge to Gib at West Tech Services for rebuild at a cost of $45 but that was back in 2015. Not sure if they are still around. Good luck!
You have to put a lot of work into it. I had to completely redo the electronics in this radio. I resoldered every component and bought a good set of tubes. To understand what it takes to restore these radios, watch this video series. It's a different philco radio, but essentially the same chasis for the radio portion. ruclips.net/video/IelT-Qp13po/видео.html
@@militaryhfradio244As my first hands on with an AA5/AA6 radio, this was a TERRIBLE choice! Everything is so tightly packed together. Bit off quite a bit more then I could chew.
it looks like the record changer mechanism (upper left corner) can be turned in such a way to handle 12 inch records. Is that correct? I know it's only a 78 turntable. Record companies put out 12 inch 78s as well as the standard 10 inch 78 records.
Nice job! Mine is still a work in progress.
I just got one like that. What needle do you use and where do you get it? I cant find out anything about it.

I have one I got for free off the Facebook marketplace. It turns on but it doesn’t work. Do you have any tips? Suggestions?
