      I first heard Iron Man on a k-tel album when I was really young then got WE SOLD OUR SOULS FOR ROCK AND ROLL. at about 13...I am almost 61...listen almost every day to something by SABBATH...😊

    I was 12 when my cool neighbor gave me the album "Master of Reality." I played it bout 3 times and mom thru it in the trash. A few years later i bought it

    This is the only song I know that my dad loved. He passed away 2008. I miss him so much and will always wish I could’ve been more connected to him (I was 7 when he passed) but this song always brings me comfort knowing it also helped him in hard times 💕 please appreciate the people you have around now 💕

    You can’t open and close an album quite as legendarily as Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. From the opening riff to the finale of Spiral Architect, the whole thing is just a classic. Honestly, I rank it as number one in their discography, but it’s so difficult to choose between any of the first six. Great stuff from a legendary band.

    Sabbath are more than gods. They are the "Creators". One single band formed a genre which then spawned into countless other sub-genres. Imo, in my world they are the greatest, my Beatles. I would hate to think of what the world would be like if Tony, Geezer, Bill & Ozzy never got together. We as metal heads can never be thankful enough for these blokes. Even after the mighty Black Sabbath r gone, they will forever live on. Thank you Sabbath.

      Shoutouts to black sabbath but youre completely wrong tbh, without people like Muddy waters and Lead Belly and etc. Bands like the Rolling Stones and then literally Black Sabbath would never be here to this day, sabbath had even recognized and payed homage before publicly, same with the Stones. im not coming from a place of hatred. But if you really want to understand how this sound even originated, pay respects to the real OGs that are true pioneers of the Rock genre.

    The band that invented metal. Fresh out of school at sixteen, I thought Iommi was the only game in town back in '73. He is, in my opinion, the most influential lead guitarist ever. Sabbath's sound is still fantastic on the ears.

    Heard this band for the first time
    In the 80’s or late 70’s once or twice and didn’t even take notice.
    Now I’m 54 and recovering from an injury and have just discovered them. Have been reading reviews, history and interviewed. But most of all I’m going through all the albums one by one and finding so many hidden gems.

      The song is about Bloody Sunday, the second massacre of Irish citizens by the British army within 6 months in 1972, for which the British government has tried no one, convicted no one. The very, very, very last thing this song should do is make anyone proud to be English.

    47 here.
    Started seriously listening to Sabbath at 20, riding around in an old dump truck every day for a summer with a broken radio where the am/fm didn't pick up ...and one tape literally STUCK in there= Black Sabbath's greatest hits.
    All day, every day, we got fucked up and worked like dogs, throwing construction debris in the dump truck to this soundtrack.
    Salute to Sabbath!
    Still gets my heart pounding, just pisses off my wife n kid instead of my parents now :D

    I was 15 years old when this came out. Bought the album and was blown away. I'm 61 now. Just rediscovering Sabbath, hearing songs again for the first time. Pure magic. The first 5 LP's are my favorite. They all sound as good today if not better, than when they all came out decades ago.

    At 15 my brother brought this album into the house. My dad freaked and said it wasn't going to spend one night in our house and that he had to get rid of it. We kept it at a friends house and secretly listened to it as often as we could. One of the best albums ever. At 58 I am still rocking to the sounds of the 70's and love it. My kids all grew up listening to mom's heavy metal rock and all love it too.

    That “where can you run too?” Riff is still one of the most heaviest in metal. I can’t imagine what people must’ve felt like when they first heard it in 1973

    This is the only song that actually frightened me when I first heard as a boy in the mid 1970s. I immediately had to listen to it again! All these years later, SBS stands as one of the finest heavy rock songs of all-time.

    I stayed at Geezer Butlers house in 1975. I was 14 starting a band with his nephew. Dropped us home in the morning at our council estate maisonette in a Daimler . Neighbours were gobsmacked. GREAT BLOKE 👍

    I came here linked from an article talking about Slash saying this is the heaviest riff of all time.
    I kinda feel the same.
    As soon as I pick up a guitar this is what I play right away.
    It just feels good.
    This could actually be the heaviest of all time.
    (I don't think the heaviest riff actually exists but if we are gonna crown the heaviest, I am definitely good with this being it.)

    I've always loved Ozzie's voice in all it's incarnations. It was at it's peak in Sabbath. Didn't like everything they did but as a band,tight and very bass and metal riff driven! And Ozzie's powerful vocals! Check out the end tour that was filmed around 16 I think. But Best they have been since 70!

      Yeah, too bad he fucked it up so bad that he couldn't even sing some Sabbath songs by the end. You can even hear that his voice is damaged compared to Paranoid

      ​@gaffer2602 His voice wasn't damaged yet at this point lol. This album and Sabotage have his highest range of all the Sabbath albums, its the 1975 tour where he started having issues and ultimately lost his upper range.
