  • @ambassadorkees

    Experienced ABB engineer estimates, that the breaker actually aged some 3 years by this so-called service.
    Will spare you all the rest of the details.

      What they did wrong???

    • @ambassadorkees
      @ambassadorkees Год назад +1

      @@michalb1984 so, you ask for the details.
      Most important: the "cleaning" of the contacts makes them worse. Discolorisation is quite normal. Contact surfaces can be checked with carbon paper imprint. Brushing them makes it shiny to the eye, but on molecular level just removes the plating: silver, nickel, chromium & others alloy that is high temperature, electric arc and oxidizing resistant.
      It also scratches the surface, reducing contact area.
      If I remember correct (need to review the vid) they also opened the mechanism cover with the springs charged, which is a hazard due to high stored energy and clearly against the instructions given on paper with each breaker. They also didn't do the most important of all: correctly lubricate the operating mechanism. Omitted operational tests and conductivity measurements before returning to service, nor did they perform a trip unit or at minimum tripping coil test.
      So that's at least 3 wrong activities, 1 hazardous practice and 4 or 5 omitted diagnostic tests.
      That's without refreshing my memory, more to follow.

    • @michalb1984
      @michalb1984 Год назад

      @@ambassadorkees
      Thank You, what do You mean by perform tripping test, how to make this in proper way

    • @ambassadorkees
      @ambassadorkees Год назад +1

      @@michalb1984 absolute minimum is using TT trip test to check that the trip unit's tripping coil & mechanism is functional.
      Better even to have Ekip T&P and run a full breaker test report with Ekip Connect software.
      Before servicing, run a breaker lig report, and see if any anomalies are stored in memory.
      The breaker keeps a log of openings and closings and the currents on which these occur, thus also calculating contact wear.
      The scratching of the contacts induces a terrible lot of wear that the trip unit can't know, resulting in a loss of credibility for preventive maintenance data.
      Not doing a trip unit and trip coil test means there's no way to know the breaker will actually work. What if you made a mistake? What if there's a screw loose? Or a forgotten tool? Stuck hairs from your grease brush on a critical place? All possible.

    Don’t use wd40’ use crc that’s safety

    • @ambassadorkees
      @ambassadorkees Год назад +1

      CRC makes about 100 different chemicals.
      Don't use it.
      Use what the manufacturer prescribes.
      And don't do all three stupid mistakes done here:
      1. Racking out and later in with open door. Dangerous due to arc risc. Rack until in isolated with door closed.
      2. Opening cover with charged spring. Risk of breaking fingers. After Rack out, close & open as prescribed in manufacturer instruction to allow safe working by removing stored energy.
      He even puts his fingers between main contacts while his master is fiddling at the front, where he might push the close button!
      3. Brushing main contacts. This removes alloy coating and ages the contacts. Scratches reduce contact surfaces area. The breaker is worse now than before.
      4. Doing any service without first running a health report with ekip t/p and ekip connect
      5. Doing service on the breaker with obviously! no level 2 or 3 training as required.
      6. Wrong method of lubrication
      7. Wrong material for lubrication
      8. Putting back into service without trip test
      And more 😓

    • @ambassadorkees
      @ambassadorkees Год назад

      @@KARMMAROC Obviously not. They have drawn up their own action plan that looks nice to lay people on video. But in fact, they make about 20 dangerous mistakes and worsen the condition of the breaker, omitting the THREE most important things that should have been done.

    • @ambassadorkees
      @ambassadorkees Год назад

      @@KARMMAROC found my detailed list of a year ago:
      It still misses a few points, e.g. Level 2 or L3 maintenance training is obviously not received. These guys shouldn't be working on this breaker at all!
      Clearly NOT according to good ABB standards and practices: 😢 Let me spell it out:
      Fault #1: Not using protective clothing (hard-nosed shoes, arc protection, gloves etc)
      Fault #2: Breaker has been racked-in with excessive force
      Fault #3: Disconnecting breaker with open door. 😡 This shall be done with closed door, since the door is supposed to contain any arcs.
      Fault #4: Servicing the breaker with spring charged. Shall ALWAYS be discharged before any service or installation.
      EVERY mounting instruction starts with: OPEN and DISCHARGED. Danger for hands! Especcialy when 8:40 they remove the cover of the charged spring & trip mechanisms!! This makes me 😡 as well.
      #5 WD-40 is NOT an approved cleaning agent. Instructions 1SDH000460R0002 chapter 8 mention using dry and clean cloth and only for EXCESSIVE deposits Henkel 273471 or equivalent.
      #5a Sand paper 😱! Who came up with that idea?
      #6 7:35 is there debris on the bottom of the arc chamber? No cleaning performed. All WD40 and copper residue increase the risk of arc flash.
      Fault #7 8:55 - 9:28 and 21:34 Excessive forces used again. 😢 Supposed to be only 3Nm on the coil assembly according to mounting instruction 1SDH000579R0001, and 9Nm on the motor acc to 1SDH000460R0605, read up. Mind you, just last week had to visit a client whose molded case breaker disfunctioned only due to excessive torque on a cover.
      #8 12:17 I'm quite sure WD-40 not allowed or suggested in there as well!
      Fault #9 Puts his fingers into the mechanism area while the spring is still charged!!! 😧😧 13:17 and onwards! My stomach turns.
      Fault #10 Re-greasing with springs charged, not using a brush (can't reach where you have to), the WD-40 removed grease between hinges and other bearing surfaces, since the springs are charged, the forces on these surfaces are active and no grease will replace the washed away...
      Result: You SEE grease, but the necessary functional mechanisms are NOT LUBRICATED 🥺😢
      17:33 FINALLY he discharges the springs, only to test the charging immediately afterwards...
      Fault #11 Small, non-dangerous mistake: They didn't timely realise the UVR / YU should be removed to allow testing. 😅
      Fault #12 20:47 The carbon paper test is OK, but do you see the contacts aren't clean even with WD-40 and cloth? All over the paper there are black marks. Cleaning not succesful?
      Fault #13 23:42 Put the breaker back in fixed part with the relay cover reversed. It might easily get damaged.
      Fault #14 23:54 Racking in with OPEN DOOR. This is the most common situation to achieve arc flash.
      Fault #15 Doesn't check auxiliairy wiring 0,7Nm tightness as per manual.
      Fault #16 24:13 Closes door and ends work with still a reversed relay cover, and is proud of it! 😅
      Fault #17 Ends project without doing a trip test using the PR030/B, Ekip T&P, PR010/T or other trip test equipment. Without a trip test, you can't call the breaker "serviced".
      Fault #18 Ends project without performing functional tests acc. to 1SDH000460R0002 chapter 8.3.9.
      Fault #19 Don't see a sticker with service date & signature.
      Fault #20 Ends project without the motor recharging the breaker (probably aux voltage not switched back on).
      Falut #21 Video ends with 4 minutes of empty black.
      Well, that last comment: I'n not a video editor, how would I know`? I'm only a ABB Technical Support Specialist.
