listening to your tracks is like a time machine to your stormy performance at "Griasdi".... It will be unforgettable to freak out there while dancing 😊 Thank you!
Connor, I hope you measure how amazing is your contribution to the world of music. I feel lucky to have met you. You hold such a groove in your music. Thank you and please keep up with music for you and all the lucky hears that your music will reach.
Been following you for a while now! You are a true artist and a huge inspiration to me! All you do is so good, very professional, always interesting both for the ears and eyes! Keep creating great videos! Love your work!
This was a lot of fun to see live recently! As a programmer, your sequencing makes me wonder what other kinds of complex "procedural music" can be made.
Wow, this is so inspiring to hear and see. Great arrangement and amazing you didn't use any pre-recorded material for this. I especially like how you build up complex rhythms and your own risers during the performance, the one in 3:48 ending in a big side-chained reverb is fantastic.
state of the art Ableton programming and outstanding performance! Are you programming the light changes also?? I really enjoyed watching this clip, hope to see you live someday
Crazy good! "What’s actually happening is that I’ve pre-programmed a ‘script’ of looping commands that my computer will execute while I play. For example, I might play something for some period of time, but the computer will only loop part of it - and then later in the song, it might take that same loop and pitch it up an octave, or add some extra effects." -> yooooo!! I already had some experience with pre-scripted music, but "take that same loop and pitch it up an octave/add effects" is really a nice idea. Three questions : a) how do you deal with messing up a loop? I m asking because usually scripts like these are just running without room for mistakes, because any mistake is irreversibly recorded and put into the pre-scripted slots! So i guess this setup is heavily reliant on you practising the script and each necessary live-loop!? b) what's the cable in your handpan doing, is that a self-built microphone in there? what would you recommend as microphone to get the nice corpus-bass of handpan? i m thinking of buying the AKG C 411 PP Mikrofon. (already owning 2 octava microphones, to put above the handpan) c) do you make some behind-the-scenes videos of your setup, where we could learn from it?
Hey, thanks for your interest. a) don't mess up b) it's an internal pickup, like guitars have. look up "Meridian Handpans". Regarding contact mics, the only one I've ever heard that didn't sound terrible was the Shertler Dyn P48, but it's expensive. c) any video I could make about my setup would be outdated within a month or two. I'm still in a process of rapid development. But it's on my mind :)
@@connorshafran haha, don't mess up, i see! I really know about c) because that's the thing with my setup too. I feel like it's "everchanging" though. So i ll make a video about my setup soon (for people who are interested in Touch-control of Ableton) because it won't ever be "finished" anyway, haha. :D

Just out of curiosity, at the 2.25s marker (ting!) Did you use modulation on a Convolution Reverb Pro for the reversed sound, Or use some clyphx pro trickery to reverse the sample somehow? Love the part where the beat drops in, the claps, ticking, all comes together majestically! Ps : Do you prefer using arrangement view or automate launch in clip view using clyphx pro? Best regards, G
Hey, thanks for the great questions! For the "reverse" effect, I automated an Ableton Reverb to turn on and freeze, as well as a low-pass filter & gain to make it sound like it's ramping up into the drop. I use both arrangement and session/clip view at the same time. :)
