Arriving In ATACAMA DESERT - Chile Travel Vlog #1

So, we decided to visit the DRIEST DESERT IN THE WORLD!
This was Wouter’s first time in Chile so Bea thought that it’d be a great idea to visit a place completely opposite to everything he’s ever known.
We bought the ticket on the platform My Trip and we paid a total of $88.000 CLP ($95 USD) return for both of us. Cheap, right!? We travelled with Sky and only with carry-on luggage. To reach this destination you must fly to the city of Calama and then take a van or taxi to San Pedro. A shared van costs $25.000 CLP or around $27 USD return per person and it takes about 1h 20 min to reach the town. If you want to make it cheaper, you can also take a bus from the airport to the city centre of Calama and then a bus to San Pedro but this would take way too long so we don’t recommend it.

Hi guys! We are Bea and Wouter (or Chilena con Dutchie 🤭). Bea from Chile 🇨🇱 was born and raised in Santiago, between Peñalolén and Renca, and Wouter from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 was born and raised in The Hague. We met in September 2021 and it didn’t take us that long to know we wanted to be together. It hasn’t been easy (we’ll tell you more about it soon 😮) but the love we have for each other makes everything possible and totally worth it.
