Critics, trolls, and pundits like Craig and Stevie who prematurely wrote off Jackson last season failed to notice his massive upside and positive attributes. Because if you actually objectively watched him last season, as opposed to just mocking him, it was clear that his technique on the ball, first touch, link up play, running into channels, speed, combativeness with defenders, and pressing were all top notch. Massive credit to Jackson for ignoring the noise and continuing to work on his craft. Because he is very quietly turning into one of the most dangerous strikers in the entire Premier League at only 23 and now already has 7 goals and 3 assists.
@Aidey75 I’ll be the first person to fully admit his finishing was not clinical enough last season. But what was appalling to constantly listen to last year was pundits like these lot who failed to acknowledge and recognize not only Jackson’s high ceiling with his attributes I previously listed above but talked about him like he was a 30 year old striker at his peak and a flop. They not only never brought up the fact he was only 22 and in his very first season in England but they completely downplayed his many positive attributes. All they did was mock and banter him. I expect that from rival fans and online trolls but it was very frustrating to hear so called professional pundits acting like that as well. If you actually closely watched Jackson last season it was very clear he had a tremendous amount of upside. I lost quite a bit of respect for Stevie and Craig in particular based on how they talked about Jackson last season.
EVERYONE seemed to forget that hist SATS were better than Drogba and Costa in their first years. Everyone focused on his missed opportunities vs. his stats. I was a massive fan of Jackson not because of his GREAT stats, but off the ball problems he caused the defensive line. All these pundits are a joke..
Precisely. Only true football fans, who watch games and not just highlights understand it. He wasn't finishing tap ins last season but you can see his potential, and he's showing it this season being direct and clinical
Chelsea’s disarray over the last 4-5 years got the club the Europa League, the Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup and multiple domestic cup finals. High quality analysis Mr Hislop. I’m sure many clubs would love to go through the same disarray.
Exactly these guy are clowns not only did Chelsea win the cl in that period, Leicester were a European chasing team 4-5 years ago they battling for top 4 and just failing at the last bit in 19/20 and 20/21
I think Nico always had that link up and hold up ability but last season, he didn't adjust to the physicality of the league and tried to go down a lot and draw fouls. Now, he just stands up to the challenge and gets on with it. And it is serving him better as well because he is learning how to combine his strength and speed to spin off defenders and create opportunities for himself and other teammates in those positions. Another thing is that he's an exceptionally humble and team-first player - he always speaks about the importance of getting a result and helping the team before his own glory and that mindset will lead him to great things if he keeps his head up and his confidence keeps rising!
To me, this is all an extension of the team paying well at the end of last season. The coach deserves some credit but they were rolling the last part of last season and just carried it on.
Shaka can't get his facts right, in fact the whole panel is a joke. They have to do a research thoroughly and make reasonable points, not this nonsense. This is one of the worst panel in sports broadcast.
What does this guy mean when he doesn't know Jackson is a link up player ..why do think we didn't sell him despite him failing to score He should go and check the assist fro palmer against Everton
@@josephuaheruapo7485 Genuinely frustrates me when I hear pundits this out of touch with reality. Jackson is not only a link up player but it’s one of his very best attributes. I love the fact that a 22 year old, on a new team and in a new league who scored 14 premier league goals, was a doubt as to his ability to be a premier league striker. It tells you all you need to know about these so-called pundits.
Chelsea are by far the youngest team in the league, but also the third-best team in the league. This team is good enough to finish inside the top four, and we'll see about the rest.

Even last season he scored 17 goals. Hardly a flop in his first ever EPL season. I think they were the same numbers as Drogba in his first.

Jackson was excellent last year, very fast, good control, greats sense of position and goal, good technique. What player were they watching ?
Excellent is a stretch
It’s good to see Frank dressed in full costume as Commander Bond
John Obi Mikel was never able to make a Jackson criticism pt 2on his podcast lol.
Crazy that no mention was made of Enzo Fernandes who not only assisted , and scored a goal but also set up some beautiful passes
