Cp Presley the salt shouldn’t harm the carp in any way, it’s simply a light additive, if you’re worried then go a lot lighter or don’t use any salt. All it is is flavoring so it doesn’t really matter.
According to the fish experts I've talked to, strawberry and cherry are what carp prefer. The I largely because the color red is an attractant to many fish, but especially to carp. This said, I can't say your bait works nearly as well for me as any one of half a dozen more standard baits. Rice compacts well, but not as well as many other things, and has no natural high attractant in in as many other things used for doughball or boilies. Many will catch carp, but in test tanks, at least, cornmeal works best, partly because, if made right, it slowly dissolves, and PROBABLY because carp just naturally love corn. As for salt, test tanks show it doesn't help attract any kind of fish, and is not good for the micro environment in lakes. And ketchup? Seriously? That's a silly thing to use in fish bait. But people will use anything for carp, and swear it works great. I just hope you aren't treating carp like a game fish, and aren't catching and releasing them. If you are, you need to stay off RUclips, sell all your fishing gear, and never buy another fishing license. Stop trying to imitate a country whose entire fishing industry was ruined by carp long ago, and stop trying to hasten how fast the same thing happens here.
James delete your RUclips account, and stay off RUclips with your misinformation and negativity. I’ve worked in fish biology for 12 years. If you are from England, watch fishing videos over there. Carp are not prized game fish over here, they never will be. Oh by the way, if the Germans start war with you again just let us know so we can come bail you out like we did in 1917 and 1941.
