"The Legend of New York" is a Sodom and Gomorrah story set during the 1977 New York City blackout. An angel appears to a NYC cop and sends him on a quest to find three souls worth saving by sunrise or else the city will be destroyed. This funk-infused new musical celebrates '70s New York in all its grungy glory-taking you from Central Park to Times Square to CBGBs to the legendary Studio 54.

What a great duo. So underrated.
Wow! So glad I found this. Santino Fontana is amazing. That voice... that voice... perfection.
LYRICS:
I was bored so here are the lyrics, please comment if there's anything wrong
*Bolded words mean I couldn't hear the lyrics sung*
Abraham:
I think I like coming home and be like
Sitting on this couch and drinking too many beers
Sarah:
Then why do you do it
Abraham:
I eat
And I don’t know what else is there to do anymore
Except leave the city
Sarah:
The city is good to us
Abraham:
The city was good
The city was pure
The city was all that we all dreamed of more
Every day seems to be heaven-sent
We had no doubt of what I meant
*It was neighbors and schoolyards and ball on the park*
It was doors left open wide opened and stayed out after a night
It was Broadway and baseball
The Dodgers, not Mets
And long sunny days no New Yorker forget
s but
No matter how gorgeous the day
The sun makes its way and hays
It sets, don't ask me why
But it’s time to say goodbye
Sarah:
But what if I don’t want to leave
Abraham:
Every new Yorker wants to leave the city, it’s just a matter of when
Goodbye to garbage bag mornings
Goodbye to roach motel nights
Goodbye to walking on home through the war zone
And walking up 5 stinking flights
Goodbye to fearing your neighbors
Goodbye to hating a straw
A New Yorker should know when to go
Say goodbye to it all
And hello to life to the country
*Or more likely in Neuro shell
*
*You wake up each morning to know all your closes
*
Better yet no New York smell
Your world is away from this hell hole
Listen and hear heavens call
For New Yorkers it's strange but things change
Say goodbye to it all
Goodbye to it all
Say goodbye to it all
Off to heaven we’ll fly
Say goodbye to it all
Sarah:
What good is heaven
You promise me heaven
Who cares about heaven
This is our home
You know
You may not believe it
But I don’t want to leave it
And so I don’t want to go
Abraham:
Sarah
Sarah:
I don’t want to go
Abraham:
Please
Sarah:
I don’t want to go
Abraham:
Promise that we’ll say
Sarah:
I don’t want to go
Abraham:
Goodbye to all playful sunsets
Sarah:
*State your trial*
Abraham:
The moment that the sun hits the sky
Sarah:
Ab why?
Abraham (Same time as Sarah):
Goodbye to waking for at heavens morning
When you wake up
It just says goodbye
Sarah (Same time as Abraham):
Ab can’t you see this is heaven to me
All I want is you and me
Abraham and Sarah:
Goodbye to watching it crumble
Abraham (Same time as Sarah):
Goodbye
Sarah (Same time as Abraham):
Together
Abraham and Sarah:
To watching it fall
Goodbye to New York city
Goodbye to it all
Abraham:
It takes a New Yorker
And trust me I’m one
To know that the next time we see the sun
This is done
Lock the door
Walk the hall
And say goodbye
Sarah:
Ab, please
Say goodbye
Sarah:
Ab stop
Say goodbye
Sarah:
Abraham!
Abraham:
Goodbye it all
Abraham:
What do you say
Sarah:
Moving away is giving up
Abraham:
Maybe that’s the kind of guy I am Sarah, a quitter
Sarah:
You didn’t use to be
Abraham:
I’m not arguing with you
Sarah:
Then you’ll have to fight for something
Abraham:
Good night
Sarah:
Abraham
Ab
I’m sorry
Abraham:
Goodbye to the life I love living
When I was a king of a men
How I wish that my city was perfect and pretty
And the street would be sunshine again
And my wife was for saying I love you
In the park as it least starts to fall
Cause then I would look her in the eye
And say the city’s a lie
That’s why you and I
Must say goodbye to it all
Goodbye to it all
Goodbye to it all
*There are definitely things I missed, please help! :)*
