Coming from Cincinnati, I love Andy Kennedy. He was fantastic here and I wish he could have taken over when Higgins left. He did great in an interim year. No one can win in Hattiesburg in the SEC. Still he was coach of the year at least once.
Mark Ingram just hired who the fans and players wanted last time and that worked out great. Now he's doing the exact same thing. Kennedy is the most average coach, only been to the NCAA's twice, the NIT's 6 times. He was fired at Ole Miss and wasn't exactly on anyone's radar. It would be nice to see Ingram elevate the program again instead of just hiring "UAB guys" and the status quo. It would be fine if this was the top candidate out there but we all know, Ingram was greatly influenced to hire this guy. The excitement won't be there and it will be the same ole' UAB we've come to be use to the past few years, in the good ole CUSA. This program could easily be elevated to a bigger conference and dominate, but not under this leadership
