There are certain body types/features I am attracted to and ones I am not. That isn't offensive because it is my personal preference, I'm not shaming someone who doesn't fit that criteria I just don't personally feel attracted to them. Since I can't control what I am physically attracted to, my sims should be able to "feel" the same way about various different body types or physical characteristics for realistic gameplay.
my boyfriend LOVES skinny twinks or trans and Im in LOVE with f@t and chubby men, theres nothing wrong and its not even a fetish, I just have an attraction to obese men
Funny thing is that people can still fall in love with someone who doesn't exactly match their preferences 😂 People need to stop putting things in boxes and seeing everything as black and white. People are complex. Some things you can be like "yeah I'm okay with that" and other things can be a huge nope. Personality preferences can overshadow the physical. Some people can be the other way around, and that's fine. Life would be boring if everyone was the same.
@@sneakingcreature5191 People can, but can SIMS? At the end of the day they are robots and programming and if programed to not like something, there isn't a whole lot of gray where "you're not my normal type, but...". I personally like this mod because it takes into account things like tats and facial hair which I know other people are into. But "People" keep talking about what "people" can do and not what digitally manipulated pixelated robots (otherwise known as Sims) can do.
@@TheDawnofVanlife the controversy around it isn't because of what the Sims can do, but what people can do and what they believe in. At the end of the day it is a game with limitations so it is surprising that people would get worked up over it or offended by it.
Because people aren't mad at the mod. People aren't even mad at what the modder said about being "shallow". Some people disagree with that (myself included), but disagreeing to someone's POV is NOT being mad someone else. We are allowed to disagree on certain subjects, are we not?
@@kimberleywilliams7802 its not. a black person preferring to date a black person is fine. a white person preferring to date an asian person is fine. some features are more prevalent in some races than others such as curly hair or curved noses. tan skin or light skin. that's just how it is.

It's realistic though and not necessarily shallow. Some people might prefer others that dress more colorful while others might prefer people that wear more basic colors like gray, white, black, etc. Then there are those that like people that only wear black. Outfit color can potentially determine how a person's personality is. Someone who wears colorful and flamboyant outfits might be the type of person that is outspoken or outgoing than someone who dresses more basic and is more reserved.

@@haremmbae7111 I literally had to go in and change Bella's personality because somehow she got a decor preference that became annoying due to her getting random really bad moodlets in her own house. The moodlet system is really badly tuned at times. I like the mod, but there is a risk of Sims, unlike people, being so tuned into their like/dislike that unlike real people there is no gray. It would be interesting to see if a sim gained weight during a relationship or if they suddenly got a tattoo in an established relationship how severely there partner-sim who has those as turn offs would react. Cause based on just how the game has played generally, some stuff seems not to be a big deal while other things will send you to create-a-sim to alter their personality just to deter the stream of negative moodlets that leave you with a nearly unplayable sim. But I refuse to buy lovestruck til it's at least half off, so I won't be testing this mod or running that experiment in the near future since turn offs and ons are locked behind a paywall I'll be sticking with Lumpino's RPO mod.
@@TheDawnofVanlife yeah but it wouldn’t work like that - it would be viewed overall, like personality traits. My sims disliked one of her LIs traits but likes all the others so they end up with good compatibility instead of Amazing or just neutral
Yeah, I think it only becomes a problem if people only care about a person appearance and ignore the rest, they can be super pretty and have an ugly personality for example like mistreating other people, that's how I see the shallowness anyway and like Matt said, people also use it as prejudice, I wouldn't be able to stay with someone like that
It's actually primordial in nature. The vast majority of cis people look for a specific ratio in the physical features they find attractive. It's like a golden ratio for fertility and it is not voluntary. Which I'm sorry but it's hilarious. People are literally mad at the most base instinct in the human brain! 😂
@@joaolima7131 You can also be super hot at 20 when you meet your partner and life happens and you don't have an athletic body at 45 (and I know plenty of very athletic people in their 40s, but the norm is probably some of what physically attracts you when you get together with someone, especially very young, is gonna fade or might change with time). A shallow person would ignore everything else good in the relationship due to a physical change and leave the relationship. But in most cases, if you are with someone for awhile, even if you got with them for some physical feature they don't have anymore, other things have become of value in the relationship. So I just hope there is a balance to account for that without me manually having to play preference bingo. :D
@@augusto7681how can that sound problematic? There are people who are attracted to fat people and people who are attracted to skinny people, as well as everything in between.
@@augusto7681I personally do not find fat people attractive in the slightest. I don’t hate them, I just wouldn’t want to be with them romantically, and that’s fine, I’m sure that fat person would find a physical characteristic of mine just as equally off putting. The people who have an issue with this are projecting their own insecurities and delusional thinking onto everyone else rather than just admitting that maybe they aren’t as appealing to the majority as they think they should be.
Physically attraction should've been a part of the pack. It's a real thing, and it's okay to have in the game because personality and other things are there too and it isnt the only one. Physical attraction is a real thing, and if people don't like it they can just not use it. Its not judging your body. Its preference. The sim is allowed to be attracted to and unattracted to any feature.
I have more of an issue of larger body types being called GENEROUS when other body types are described as they are in real life, why we tip-toeing around plus-sized language?
Personally I would much rather be called fat than generous. I’ve been overweight my whole life and I don’t need someone to try to sugarcoat the terminology. No one has real life conversations where they say they like generous men/women and are referring to body size.
@@jordanwilson6259 fat is only ever an insult if the person saying the word means it to be. I've only ever used it to describe a body type just like I do with "skinny"
Between removing the option to call your boyfriend and girlfriend "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" and wanting to pretend like people aren't attracted to body types, as a fat queer person myself who now can't use gender-affirming language in-game or show love for bigger body types without mods, their "inclusiveness" is starting to feel very exclusive.
Preferences are "natural" for human beings. Even nonhuman animals have preferences when mating. However, it's important to recognize two things. 1 Our preferences are often influenced by societal factors. What's beautiful often varies by what certain societies consider beautiful. 2 Prejudice is relevant as well. To prefer someone is different from completely excluding entire groups from what one would consider attractive. For example, one can have a preference for dark-skinned people, but to exclude all non-dark-skinned people and consider all of them as unattractive would be prejudiced, highly likely to be influenced by societal factors, and unnatural.
Yes! I think that skin color shouldn’t be part of the physical attraction system and the dislike should not be as important as the like. We can grow to be attracted to someone based on their personality, for example. But the game itself is shallow, so..
@@leleite1I disagree. You can be more attracted to certain races and more likely not to date someone with said skin tone or race. Same goes for eyes or any other feature.
@@Anonymous-mp5mt this is definitely true. The argument about not adding skin colors into the mix is a similar argument to not adding other things. Because it can feel problematic to admit that you prefer skinny people or people with lighter skin in terms of attractiveness. It's not wrong to just think skinny people are more attractive or people with lighter skin are more attractive as long as you're aware that it's YOUR preference and not an objective thing. This is however absolutely the reason the developers decided to leave it out, and I think that's a fair decision.
Exactly, preferences are natural but most preferences aren’t created by nature and there is vested money and capitalist interest to have your preferences skew one way or another
Skincolor attraction is a political issue - even though 'race' in itself is a social concept, not a scientific one - but that's too much to get into here - none the less, I don't think it should be part of the game
I'm attracted to light brown Nerds with glasses, I don't look down on fit strong people, the same way as just because alot of people find fit strong guys attractive that doesn't mean their lesser people🤷♀️
Good God, why does everything simple have to be such a big deal nowadays? People are so sensitive today, I swear! People have preferences. It is normal and natural no one said *"if you are not like this, you are ugly"* all preferences say is *"if you are not like this, then I am not attracted to you in that way."* If you do not like this mod, then do not play with this mod installed. Live and let live. Let people who like this concept play and enjoy the game and mod.
Preferences don’t even say that though, but the game will treat it as such so it’s probably not the easiest thing to factor into game play. Many people find people out of their preference attractive and it can work, but sims will likely reject anyone outside of their type
I was just talking about this! Like no eye color, glasses, tattoos? Etc… paid 40bucks and all I get is hair color. Ppl are genuinely “turned on” by certain looks. I’m also hating this whole partner thing because in my gameplay I want them to be able to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. I never use the word partner. I feel sims trying to include more People is actually excluding a lot of people.
Yeah I almost exclusively play the sims 4 with wlw couples and I love hovering over the relationship panel and seeing the other sim listed as my wife/girlfriend.
Me who don't have physical preferences IRL really...honestly (I'm pretty demi- sexual so I can't even get close to feeling I want to do anything with anyone without liking something more than how they look, people don't even register for me as an option unless I know something about you). That being said, I think physical attributes as attraction are more common for most people than not, but I also find Sims are less flexible then humans. You give them something they don't like they REALLY don't like it and it can get a bit annoying as opposed to filling out there personality. I can be around things I don't like and be fine, they're just not my preference. So what I always fear with Sims 4 is the lack of subtlety in tuning. I think replacing clothing color with this makes sense as clothing color is stupid. I know IRL people can have types, but it probably won't be that you always wear blue. But I also find too many preferences make the game harder to play because Sims 4 Sims have such extreme reactions to something you set for them to not like and they tend to not like it forever unless you manually change it. Real people are also flexible and sometimes fall in love outside their type all the time. Or continue to be in love with their partner despite them not having the same body type at some point due to life challenges, changes, and aging. So my issue with this is more game tuning can't always account for this subtlety of the human conditon.
the clothing color category is just so funny. like sorry i was attracted to you because you wore blue, but now you changed outfits and i don’t like you anymore!
People's preferences also change as they age. I never thought I'd like facial hair or body hair when I was younger and yet here I am. So as much as sims are able to change, I would hope that their preferences are also able to change as you play.
It doesn't really matter if those preferences are available. People will still carry their biases or be all inclusive or whatever they want when they play.
@@sillylittleash DISLIKING someone based on a skin tone is weird. Not being romantically attracted to someone and straight up disliking someone because of their race are two very diffrent things.
Being attracted to body types is not "shallowness" it is regular human sexuality. People are attracted to all kinds of body types. Deal with it. Also "outfit color" was the most ridiculous category anyway so I'm fine with it replacing that. Never in my life have I been attracted to someone because of their outfit color lmao
Im ace, so I havent been attracted to body type, but i have been "attracted", aesthetically speaking, by outfit colour. In my opinion, anyone can look good in black clothes. (Not saying you're wrong, just sharing that outfit colour does have a certain merit for random people.)

@@meh_lady I can't tell if you're joking light-heartedly or not, but will chose the positive option 😊. It's not that the person will look bad in other clothes, its that they look specially good in a specific colour, for me.
Funny because the same thing will happen if your SIM loses weight or gains weight. The game coding (old) is very binary and not very flexible. This is what people DON'T understand. People seriously need to think really hard about how this game functions. Mods are fine but you better believe there will be problems that the modder will have to constantly tweak. They also have to deal with the dissatisfaction about the wording they use to describe these body shapes or they didn't include enough body shapes. There will always be an issue. Not including means avoiding these sensitive pitfalls. I'm glad it's not in the game because it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. The fanbase is toxic as is. Also, the color preference isn't useless anymore, it has an actual function now.
@@up4sing I mean this in the nicest and most constructive way possible, but asexual people aren't really the best example for what people who are sexual do lol. It is about people who actually feel sexual attraction, people who do not feel sexual attraction can sit this conversation out.
It's okay to dislike apple juice. It's okay to like tomato juice. It's not okay to say that apple juice shouldn't be liked by anyone, or allowed, or that people who like apple juice are wrong. The sims4 universe is very sanitized. Real humans are naturally messy, we're not beautiful all the time, we're strange and different and gross and we should be allowed to be that way. This attraction thing is just another example of why I don't feel represented in the sims4. People like me aren't idealized enough to be in games
Physical preferences are a normal part of human attraction and are not controversial by any means. The beauty of people is that we are diverse, and theoretically there will always be individuals that may or may not match each other's particular preferences, both physically and emotionally/mentally. This could have been a togglable feature in-game if the Sims team was concerned about players being adverse to the addition.
Wicked Whims and Wonderful Whims have had physical attraction settings for years and nobody has ever said shit about that. Down to even skin tones. Soooo...
I use Wicked Whims since many years, the physical attraction system got many flaws. It's not the mod itself, the custom content is the problem. Most of the players use custom content eye lashes, the problem is that they are often under the glasses section. That means a Sim who dislikes glasses will not like Sims who wear cc eye lashes. :(
Honestly I take issue with their terminology. Athletic, generous, lean and stocky. Doesn’t exactly give me a great idea of what those mean. Be simple, use the terminology found in the game files, fit and fat. High fit, high fat, low fit, low fat. Anything outside of those isn’t descriptive enough for the game imo
Btw about the "choosing to date someone based on their clothes' color"? I think that was the sims team trying to be quirky and unfortunately failing at that. If the physical attraction turn-ons and turn-offs were there I think most people would notice how stupid and kinda funny this is. Making the challenges like "dating sims who wear only red" does sound potentially fun.
The Sims 4 sims are essentially blind to features, it's the games "thing" I suppose. A mod like this is perfect for people who want a slightly more challenging experience. It's also not anything new, the Wicked and Wonderful Whims have had it for years.
I'd say your partner's romantic satsifaction dropping because you wore a yellow shirt rather than a blue one is way more challenging than the mod itself.
Everyone has preferences, we are all more attracted to some things above others and it's fine as long as it's not used in a discriminating way. One example for me: I am very attracted to blue eyes (my hubby has piercing blue eyes) but that doesn't mean that I would full on just disregard someone because they had, say, green eyes. It just means that blue eyes get my juices flowing, ever so slightly more lol. Like you said, it's called 'being human'. People seriously need to chill and learn to be less sensitive.
It's natural yes, but no we all do not have physical attraction. Asexual people exist. That said I agree the problem is how people act about their preferences. Far too often preferences and attractiveness is used as means to objectify or dehumanize people. Sometimes preferences are evoked as an excuse for putting certain people on a pedestal and bullying others. I think people are sensitive because it is a real and very common phenomenon. But nonetheless it's not inherently bad for preferences to exist in the Sims or in the real world.

yup and they need to stop playing a game if physical attraction is too harsh and sensitive as a subject for them... like they need therapy and social worker help, not gaming.
lets all be honest, it hurts when youre rejected because of how you look physically, but thats also a very normal part of life, everyone has certain features they like and some they dont like, as long as youre not insulting people with features youre not attracted to, youre not a bad person for having preferences
We are too sensitive these days man....your not shallow if u find someone attractive due to their body type -.- You are shallow if u use body type to determine someone's worth ...but not basic attraction 😅
Just because you like mac and cheese doesn't mean you hate pizza and actively insult it. Most people have physical preferences and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they don't hate on people who don't fit their preferences.
… So people aren’t allowed to have types anymore? Nah actually screw anyone getting mad if you’re mad people have preferences then you aren’t mature enough to be in a relationship of any kind.
I agree that having preferences doesn't make a person shallow. I'd say the complete absence of different types of physical attraction in the game makes it shallow. Interesting mod, but I'm gonna wait for Turbodriver's update to Wonderful Whims Edit: Just corrected a phrase
I already have attractiveness system with WW and it's amazing. There's nothing shallow about having preferences. Stop shaming people. It's very creepy.
It's CRAZY that people are upset about a physical attraction. We all have somewhat of a physical preference whether we admit it or not. If you are not attracted to certain looks, that is fine. Just don't go around insulting others or calling them ugly for having attributes you don't prefer.
Except for "not men" (cause lesbian) I honestly don't have any real physical preferences. :D But I don't think people who do are shallow, but there are people who go more off the vibe and connection than physical attributes, we don't "all" have physical preferences. That being said, the clothing color preference was stupid and I'd rather replace it with this mod any day.
@@TheDawnofVanlife fair enough. Though I don't think the colored outfit preference is dumb. I find people who wear certain colors more attractive than others. I love when other people wear black clothes.
I personally have been with way taller, way shorter, thin/chubby/fit guys with brown, black, and fair hair, light medium and dark skin, ive been with many different physiques, guys with and without facial hair, long or short hairstyles, so i personally would say that what attracts me to someone isn't physique and i don't have any preference, i tend to find someone attractive based on many things. However that isn't to say that this would apply to everyone and i definitely was disappointed they didn't include this. A person may be attracted to many physical appearance factors or be put off by everything except one, this creates more interesting sims. I don't think its shallow to like something physical unless that is literally the ONLY reason you like them or choose them or you judge negatively anyone who doesn't fit that appearance
There is a big problem with mods like that no one is talking about, for example a Sim got the setting "likes blue eyes" and this player is using many custom content eyes ... all the eyes are not defined to be a particular color. In some cases are colors wrong defined, for example blond hair is under black hair. That means if you create a Sim who prefers blond hair and this Sim meets a blond haired one with wrong defined hair color ... the whole mod will not work. For the Sims 4 it's now too late, becaue there is too much not or wrong defined custom contet out there. I really hope when The Sims 5 comes out modder will define each color swatch and part from the beginning.
Ive never understood the debate on physical attraction, your allowed to not be attracted to certain things. Whats wrong is to make someone feel that no one will find them attractive because you don't or treating them poorly because you dont find them atttactive.
I consider myself to be a very accepting person of all races, sexes, shapes, sizes and personalities of people. But when it comes down to attraction, I definitely have my preferences. Physical attributes are like the book cover on a book, the icing on the cake, it's what grabs your attention and makes you take notice. It's not shallow, it's what makes you take a second look and opens the door to wanting to find out more.
Physical attraction is a part of LIFE. Let’s be real dating profiles have photos for a reason. We all are physically attracted to certain people and uninterested in others, anyone who can’t admit that has serious issues they need to deal with themselves instead of putting it on others
Honestly…. The people I grew up with never stopped talking about how attractive mens’ abs are, when I’m more attracted to personality. Both are allowed! It makes more sense than clothing color attraction. This was never a problem back then in other games, why is it a problem now?? Imagine if people got upset over wicked whims for being too spicy
The ‘outrage’ is silly. I have a thing for blue eyes, not even on purpose, I just seem to like the features of people with blue eyes. Personality is 1000% more important and will always win out for me but attraction/relationships DO start physically before a deeper connection is made
What about the poor red eyes for Vampires and the black eyes for aliens? 😢 They must feel so alone... 😂 I actually do not have an eye pref though. ou o
I truly do not get the problem of having a physical attraction to someone... that's absolutely normal and personal. I don't understand why people should feel bad for liking something like piercings or pink colored hair? Seriously, what is going on 🤦🏻♀️
You are so right this does not make you shallow this makes it more personalize your own connection for your preference !!! Hope you all have a nice day!!!
I think it COULD be problematic in very specific ways (saying you're not attracted to ANY black person who ever lived is weird for example) but having a preference for taller people, shorter people, fatter, skinnier, etc should definetly be ok imo. Besides, it's just a game lol. It's not that deep. I'm a trans woman and make trans Sims both men and women (and some nonbinary people too) and I don't find it "problematic" that not all Sims want to date my trans sims, it's way more realisitc that way if anything. Just seems like people overthinking simple things
@@zalybrainlessgenius503do all black people look the same? That’s the problem. To say black people aren’t your preference is one thing but to say you don’t think ANY black people are attractive IS very shallow and rude, which is what the comment is saying.
People are allowed to be attracted/unattracted to whatever features they want. Just like people are allowed to refer to themselves/sims as gendered or gender neutral terms. They need to bring back gendered terms.
"There's something really different between physical attraction and judging someone based on how they look" - I consider that ONE and the SAME. We ALL judge, you're lying if you try to say you don't. If your preference is for brown hair and you see a girl with blonde, straight away you're judging her based on her hair colour BEFORE knowing her, purely because your preference is brown hair. THAT IS a JUDGEMENT. Your physical attraction merely defines the things you're attracted to in a romantic way. In order to have a set things that you like, you must pass judgement upon those who don't have said things. Lets not mistake judgement as being bad right off the bat. You may see someone with blonde hair and think "I prefer browns (preferential/judgmental) BUT maybe they're a nice person!" and still get to know them anyway. There are MANY of us with partners who don't 100% match our preferences physically, but match other preferences, for example personality preferences. Its a silly thing to debate and worry about.
i am attracted to masculine strong men. so my husband is exactly that. thats my preference and it has always been that way. meanwhile my best friend likes stylish men who are skinny and a bit more feminine looking. she doesnt like beards. i like beards.... everyone has their type and thats fine. nothing shallow about that
I think the “outfit color” preference is kind of a silly category they used, but I think they probably just tried to take the safe route since we live in a highly sensitive culture these days. I can’t say I blame them, but also I feel like they are only giving a certain group voice these days too. It’s a no win situation. For me personally, I’m finding myself more and more turned off by the game. Too much time is being spent on not offending people rather than adding good and playable game play.
Physical attraction is complex. Its also something we are conditioned in. That is a part we shouldnt forget.. Like what you like, no one can force it but taste can change and do change for all sorts of reason. For me ,understanding how fatfobic and colorist our societies are, and how I never got to decide in a vacuum what I liked without societal messages, broadend my taste over time. So like with everything in life, its nuance. Theres a reason why lighter skin is perferred around the world, and its not some engraned natural thing, we are all part of societies with ideas about class ( darker skin is connected to poverty outside of the Western world) colonization and oppression ( the negative stereotypes about appearance that the West stuck to brown and black people didnt exist before Western rich people created the concept of race) etc . Its always a bit of nature and a boat load of nurture. So as much as I disagree with the decesion and I feel they didnt think it through enough so it feels like they overcorrected, Its not as simple as a lot of people seem to think it is.
Sims 4 new team probably going the woke route. They don't want people fat shaming. There nothing wrong with discriminating people in a video game. That how real life is like.
Like someone posted in the sims forums. During dating you are totally allowed to have preferences, that's just how humans work. No one will take offense to that, of course you will be selective when looking at a potential partner. EA/Maxis took the safe route and it's disappointing to see.
People are so annoying. Unless it’s illegal stuff pertaining to children and certain situations, why does anyone care what SOMEONE ELSE puts in their game? Of all the crazy ass mods over the years, THIS IS THE ONE PPL CHOOSE TO GET MAD AT ?
Nothing wrong with physical attraction, it's been that way from the beginning of time itself. Missy-Hissy has a more in-depth mod like this one, but better.
I think it's because some people want to have certain features that they weren't born with, a handful of those people seem to believe that it is offensive if you don't want to date them because of your preference. Personally, if someone is acting like they are entitled to me dating them, I will not want to date them, it having very little to do with appearance and everything to do with how they treat others. I prefer a larger body type, but it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if the person wasn't, I just like it because I can hug them without feeling like I have to hold back. I have one friend who is built like that, and we can both hug each other as strongly as we want, without fear of hurting each other. It's hard going though life having to be constantly reigning in a natural born strength when I hug someone.
I encourage you to be the better person and not stoop to other people’s levels based on how they treat you. One isn’t a nice person if they’re only nice to people who are nice to them. 🥰❤️
@mandab7341 LOL!!! I encourage to allow yourself not to worry about how people deal with personal experiences. 😏🙃 You can only be the bigger person so much, especially when you know they know better. Also, it's not my job to parent an ADULT. You probably have no clue what it's like to LIVE with someone like that, and you have no where else to go. Kids, and teens, sure....I'll care there. However, not with an adult who wants to behave pathetically.
Physical attraction is a normal thing. I am attracted to men with some muscle but not a lot. Unless you have swimmers muscles then you are completely and utterly hot. For women I'm attracted to women who are curvy like me. it's normal to have physical attraction. There are facial structures that I like and I can't quite describe on both men and women.
I at least would’ve expected attraction options for body hair, makeup, jewelry, tattoos. Especially since they added multiple tattoos and jewelry pieces. It feels silly to just pick colors and clothing styles TWICE, for compatibility and for attraction. And what about eye colors? Where’s the issue with that? How is that different to hair color? Also age preference, younger, same age, older would’ve been nice. Obviously excluding teens. I wasn’t surprised they excluded body type, and I’m fine with that. But most of the attraction things you can pick seem useless.
I think they could keep the “turn on”option without the “turn off” option, so we don’t have a risk of showing a disgust animation reaction from a Sim or something demeaning like that
... you're telling me that a $40 pack about dating and hooking up and exploring your romantic side doesn't have physical body attraction preferences because it's too shallow, but having a turn on/off for Sims in certain colors - as shallow as it gets because it's not even skin deep since you can change clothes on a whim - is totally fine??? $40. Forty whole ass dollars for this pack and I can't even explore physical attraction with it properly Y'all, I spend $50 a week on groceries for me and my husband for reference. Barely a few dollars more than what this pack costs. If I'm forking over almost one grocery bill's worth of money on something, esp in this economy, it better be airtight and an absolute blast Ik the video is focused more on the mod but I could NOT get over this fact the entire time lmao. I think most of us agree that physical attraction is just a part of life. Tbh, I think the only people saying physical attraction is bad and shouldn't be okay/encouraged are the chronically online sensitive types, because I genuinely don't understand why having a preference is wrong for most normal everyday same people. But then again, 90% of this pack feels like it caters to chronically online people and not what irl dating/romance looks and feels like so idk what I expected
Being attracted to an outfit color makes no sense. So you meet him at the gym and they’re wearing red and you’re all for it. Then they switch clothes and are wearing blue and you’re like eww gross get away from me.😂
There are certain body types/features I am attracted to and ones I am not.

Exactly
It's realistic though and not necessarily shallow. Some people might prefer others that dress more colorful while others might prefer people that wear more basic colors like gray, white, black, etc. Then there are those that like people that only wear black. Outfit color can potentially determine how a person's personality is. Someone who wears colorful and flamboyant outfits might be the type of person that is outspoken or outgoing than someone who dresses more basic and is more reserved.

Yeah, I think it only becomes a problem if people only care about a person appearance and ignore the rest, they can be super pretty and have an ugly personality for example like mistreating other people, that's how I see the shallowness anyway and like Matt said, people also use it as prejudice, I wouldn't be able to stay with someone like that
Exactly!!!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So, it's okay for Wicked Whims, but not for SFW mods? Okay ya'll...
Sims 4, either the developers & the fanbases, are probably the most confusing, toxic & exhausting things ever in modern gaming
Beautifully said 👏🏽 and thank you as a fellow demi ace
the clothing color category is just so funny. like sorry i was attracted to you because you wore blue, but now you changed outfits and i don’t like you anymore!
People's preferences also change as they age. I never thought I'd like facial hair or body hair when I was younger and yet here I am. So as much as sims are able to change, I would hope that their preferences are also able to change as you play.
They’re forgetting this was literally allowed in old sims games

The sims4 universe is very sanitized. Real humans are naturally messy, we're not beautiful all the time, we're strange and different and gross and we should be allowed to be that way. This is a stupid controversy. People have too much time on their hands if they’re upset by this.
Yet the comments section is worse and are turning a non issue into one.
Its my GOD GIVEN RIGHT for my sims to like big beefy men with bara chests
Wicked Whims and Wonderful Whims have had physical attraction settings for years and nobody has ever said shit about that. Down to even skin tones. Soooo...
I use Wicked Whims since many years, the physical attraction system got many flaws. It's not the mod itself, the custom content is the problem.
Most of the players use custom content eye lashes, the problem is that they are often under the glasses section. That means a Sim who dislikes glasses will not like Sims who wear cc eye lashes. :(
Also, sims don't have to be 100% good. Like, we can have kleptomaniacs but not a sim who likes green eyes instead of blue?! OMG
Athletic - body builder / gym junkie type. Generous - plus sized. Lean - skinny. Stocky - in-betweener.
I never heard anyone describe themselves as "stocky" 😂 As a non-native, I have no clue what to even imagine under that term
But nonetheless it's not inherently bad for preferences to exist in the Sims or in the real world.
preferences are completely normal and an instinctual reaction.

yup and they need to stop playing a game if physical attraction is too harsh and sensitive as a subject for them... like they need therapy and social worker help, not gaming.
lets all be honest, it hurts when youre rejected because of how you look physically, but thats also a very normal part of life, everyone has certain features they like and some they dont like, as long as youre not insulting people with features youre not attracted to, youre not a bad person for having preferences
We are too sensitive these days man....your not shallow if u find someone attractive due to their body type -.-
You are shallow if u use body type to determine someone's worth ...but not basic attraction 😅
Just because you like mac and cheese doesn't mean you hate pizza and actively insult it. Most people have physical preferences and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they don't hate on people who don't fit their preferences.
… So people aren’t allowed to have types anymore? Nah actually screw anyone getting mad if you’re mad people have preferences then you aren’t mature enough to be in a relationship of any kind.
when did we reach the point where being attracted to taken people is ok, but preffering any type of physical features is not?
I agree that having preferences doesn't make a person shallow. I'd say the complete absence of different types of physical attraction in the game makes it shallow.

Physicall attraction is way less shallow than clothing colour
I already have attractiveness system with WW and it's amazing. There's nothing shallow about having preferences. Stop shaming people. It's very creepy.
I know right these people who demand people be attracted to them are freaky.
A sims game is SOOOOO individual to who's playing? Yall can tailor tf out of this, what a stupid controversy
Me who plays with Wicked Whims: Oh.
Physical attraction is a part of LIFE. Let’s be real dating profiles have photos for a reason. We all are physically attracted to certain people and uninterested in others, anyone who can’t admit that has serious issues they need to deal with themselves instead of putting it on others

The ‘outrage’ is silly. I have a thing for blue eyes, not even on purpose, I just seem to like the features of people with blue eyes. Personality is 1000% more important and will always win out for me but attraction/relationships DO start physically before a deeper connection is made

Wickedwims has this feature
You are so right this does not make you shallow this makes it more personalize your own connection for your preference !!! Hope you all have a nice day!!!
These physical attraction preferences are actually making the game more inclusive.
What's the problem of not being attracted to black people?
@@zalybrainlessgenius503do all black people look the same? That’s the problem. To say black people aren’t your preference is one thing but to say you don’t think ANY black people are attractive IS very shallow and rude, which is what the comment is saying.
Its this new generation. They want people to date them no matter what. "Oh please dont have physical attraction. Just date me anyways" thats fkn crazy
Its a silly thing to debate and worry about.
i am attracted to masculine strong men. so my husband is exactly that. thats my preference and it has always been that way. meanwhile my best friend likes stylish men who are skinny and a bit more feminine looking. she doesnt like beards. i like beards.... everyone has their type and thats fine. nothing shallow about that
Exactly but their a loud vociferous group of people now who demand everyone be attracted to them or else
I am specifically attracted to fat people LOL it goes both ways, it’s not inherently fatphobic
How dare people have preferences though. These people are ridiculous
Too much time is being spent on not offending people rather than adding good and playable game play.
i mean the sims IS silly so im sure thats not supposed to be taken serious lol
So as much as I disagree with the decesion and I feel they didnt think it through enough so it feels like they overcorrected, Its not as simple as a lot of people seem to think it is.
totaly agree with you! And I honestly find it weird about outfit color preferences. Like is that even important in a relationship...?
Sims 4 new team probably going the woke route. They don't want people fat shaming. There nothing wrong with discriminating people in a video game. That how real life is like.
What controversy? I think physical attraction may be the part of the pack that people has the least problem with😂
People have physical preferences. Nothing wrong with that. It’s real life.
Been using wicked whims for awhile. I was surprised when the sims 4 came out with their official version and didn't include the body types like WW did
People can have physical preferences irl and in the Sims 4,why is this even a discussion? It's NOT that deep.
they could’ve added height sliders and made height a preference .. SIGH
That would have been great
They’d also have to to redo every interaction to accommodate the different heights, age, weight, etc
Please not. Every time height and attraction appear in the same sentence, a horde of short guys overrun the place, ready to burn it down.
@@BlueberryDragon13 ?
If you don't like it, don't use it. You don't HAVE to set those things!
These people are so sensitive 🤦🏾♂️ You can’t even have a preference nowadays.
the ding dang mod won't work for some reason.. but also why is clothing colour even an option like what? That's a wild one to have
ITS NOT THAT DEEP! LET PEOPLE HAVE PREFERENCES 🙄 u can’t help but like wat you like tf?!?!
It's okay to have your preferences, just don't be RUDE about it.....unless they earned it....be as rude as you want then at that point! 😂😂😂
You can only be the bigger person so much, especially when you know they know better. Also, it's not my job to parent an ADULT. You probably have no clue what it's like to LIVE with someone like that, and you have no where else to go.
Kids, and teens, sure....I'll care there. However, not with an adult who wants to behave pathetically.
I’m so sorry. It sounds like you’re in a tough situation 🥺
@mandab7341 no, not really. I've just seen the difference between respectful, and disrespectful.
@mandab7341 oh wait....I forgot you commented before, but yeah my whole life is tough....but trying my best.
I think they could keep the “turn on”option without the “turn off” option, so we don’t have a risk of showing a disgust animation reaction from a Sim or something demeaning like that
Exactly how they need to do it, that way no one can complain.
... you're telling me that a $40 pack about dating and hooking up and exploring your romantic side doesn't have physical body attraction preferences because it's too shallow, but having a turn on/off for Sims in certain colors - as shallow as it gets because it's not even skin deep since you can change clothes on a whim - is totally fine???
$40. Forty whole ass dollars for this pack and I can't even explore physical attraction with it properly
Y'all, I spend $50 a week on groceries for me and my husband for reference. Barely a few dollars more than what this pack costs. If I'm forking over almost one grocery bill's worth of money on something, esp in this economy, it better be airtight and an absolute blast
Ik the video is focused more on the mod but I could NOT get over this fact the entire time lmao.
