Great to see a man of a certain age riding. I turned 50 and my Onewheel is one the best things I've done in a long time. Ride safe man. Thanks for the content.
These are life for me as someone thats battling colon cancer and have extreme PTSD these changed mine and my familys life as we can go many places sometimes... I actually was forced to sale mine and my sons pint and were working towards gettin them again Float On my brother from Dallas Tx
Thanks man. Life changer for me too. These things are more than what they seem to people on the "outside" of the community. Even the community itself is awesome. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Be safe and float on my brotha!🤙🏾
My Onewheel Brother, I have close to 10,000 miles on my OW's, you scare me shitless without a helmet or gear going that fast....be safe and thanks for the review, enjoyed it.
Thanks man, and I appreciate the concern. People don't usually see me padded up, but for every time you see me free ballin' it, I've done it dozens of times with gear. I've gone through lots of falls and and a few injuries, but you know what I hurt the most, and takes me out of commission the longest? Shoulder Injuries. I wish there were pads for that, lol. Thanks for the comment, and honestly, thanks for the concern❤️
Thanks man! :) I don't take direct hits to the shoulder, so padding wouldn't help me much. My shoulder injuries are from me either banging my elbow, and the shock from the impact going to my shoulder. Or, it's a fall on my hands, that then send a shockwave to my shoulder. Either way, I feel like my shoulders are the weakest link, as my wrists and elbows are always fine after the fall. Any suggestions for that? I've looked high, and low :(
amazing video love the editing style. i just bought a pint x and was thinking of getting a gt for trails but i might save a bit longer and get a gts rally like yours ill be excited to see what other videos you make about it.
Great Vid Rod, much more informative than just watching somebody ride to music playing! I'm coming up on a 100 miles on my Rally and would be very interested in your thoughts on the custom shaping, I've fiddled with it a little but I'm not getting it right. That being said I have two GT's as well - one stock and one modded - and the Rally is a definite step up from those.
Sup man, and thx for the comment. I'll be recording a video this weekend testing the shaping settings and giving my thoughts on how they all work. The Rally is definitely a beast. Seems like it just needs to be tweaked. We'll see.
I have had my pint x for just over a month. Love it. Getting comfortable going further and further. I'm in Philly though, but I too am ready for more speed and a bigger hub.
Awesome! I ride pint but one day i want to make my way to a gt! About the footpads, they are lowboy footpads, supposed to increase stability! You can turn on footpad engagement in custom shaping. Gradient tracking helps with tail drags! Shred on!
Great video. I have an S series and it is amazing for trails. Personally, I think that the performance tire is great and one of the best tires out there. Give it a shot especially for carving and on single track. Also take a look at all the custom shaping including gradient tracking. Once you find a shaping that you like, it is great. Last thing: I have the straight rails and am thinking about getting the recurve. Do you think the upgrade is worth it?
How's it going? It's hard to say man (about recurve v/s straight). I will say this though. That back end clearance has been crucial for me many times while I've had it. That locked in feeling is cool too, and the stance you have to take looks cool as well. Having said all that I guess I do think the upgrade is worth it, especially if you're a "trails first" kinda person.
I'm a big guy nursing a pint. I feel exactly like you. I'll just pay for someone else to program and build something my face depends on. Waiting on Blk Friday to see if there are some deals, but I know I want the GTSR. Nice vid, thanks for the info.
Picked up a rally edition and it’s definitely worth the money. Try out gradient tracking for uphill, it’s a game changer. Also, soft lowboy flared pads are worth the money.
Thanks man, appreciate the suggestions. Gonna look up those pads. And, yea, I just got some shaping suggestions from Neil Bennett (yup name dropping cause I'm stoked, lol), so gonna try that gradient tracking you mentioned, as he mentioned it as well. Thanks for all the info, and for stopping by.
Great review and follow-ups in the comments. Your excitement before the unboxing showed. Imagine if you had to wait till Christmas to open it. Maybe a new tire for Christmas? The Pint's Vega tire is the only good stock tire (IMHO).
Thanks for the comment, appreciated. I'm super happy I didn't have to wait too long for it. My GT wasn't up to task anymore, and as you know, we gotta be riding - all the time🤙🏾 Agreed on the Pint's Vega. I still love that board as well.
Not exactly. Some things can be changed in custom shaping - other things he's handicapped by Future Motion's choices.. They put their own limits on the board and control how much customization you do and do not have over it all. Like want to replace your battery with a 3rd party one? Congrats, bricked board. Thanks FM. Seriously, it's a shame. You talk about not jailbreaking and all, and I totally get that. But you could have saved up to thousands of dollars if you were willing to VESC a board. That's where I'm at with my pint. Love the thing, but can't bring myself to paying another 1k or so for another board as my only way of upgrading its performance. Still, the rally looks awesome and this is a great review. For your case and needs, the rally makes a lot of sense and it's an impressive board without a doubt.
Thanks for this comment as I mirrors some of my own thoughts on the matter, and who doesn't like validation? I was speaking with a fellow rider today about the limits of the board, and if shaping defines those limits, or does it work within them? I think I agree with you in that shaping can help, but won't fix everything. Thanks for your time.✌🏾
My XR seems to be doing what your Gt is. It has lost a lot of torque. I thought is was the battery. Changed it out and nothing changed. I can slam tail to tail to the ground fairly easily.
I don't know much about the mechanics, so take this with a grain of salt, but you may need a bearing swap. Check it out and see if that is an option. Thanks for stopping by.
I get that all the time, lol. I only ride as fast as I can "run it out". Also, when I'm doing a new section, I'm padded up. New trail, I pad up. On a leasure cruise where I'm just trying to feel the breeze. I go solo. Thanks for stopping by.
@@RoderickWortham Your ride videos make me want to bring my OW GT over and ride those trails even though I’m unfamiliar with the trails and haven’t ridden trails yet but want to.

Good to get some negatives as well as positives. I've been considering getting a gts rally but unsure whether to get the standard gts. I had an xr years ago - loved it but sold it as I had 3 nose dives. I've heard the gts is now less prone to nosedives so I fancy one. I can't see me doing many trails to be honest. Have you rode a standard gts to compare to the rally?
Unfortunately, I jumped right into the Rally, so I haven't had any experiences with the straight rail GTS. If you liked the XR, the GTS with the 6" hub is the closest you'll get to that from Future Motion. Handles chunk similarly. Thanks for stopping by.
I take spills all the time. I've been hurt riding, but no injuries, thank goodness. I do wear pads, just not on leisure rides. Only for trails I haven't done, or if I know I'm doing something risky. Thanks for the comment and well wishes.

Word from your elder… great video! Been on GTS since release and you will get supper comfy on the tire. You have the stock lowboys, I tried my boys wide ones at RFTR and they give more platform but my size 8.5 fits stock good enough. Take Neil up on his offer to send you custom shaping settings. Super easy to setup and then forget it. I have my Flow-Austen and Flow-Neil shapes. Haven’t tweaked them at all. You will be amazed up hill and down when the board auto compensates for the terrain. Also, put a helmet on that noggin and Fxnction Gear wrist guard’s especially on the trail. I’m hitting around 27 consistently on the road with no fear. Finally, heading to Santa Cruz for my Rally this weekend and really want to know how you like the drop top fender setup. I have one in my GTS and it fits smooth. One last thing, keep the handle since it’s perfect carry option. I don’t ever hear it rattle and use it often . Looking forward to the hub and recurve.
