FYI. I am not paid by either brand. Some people have said I am biased to the hoover. The reason is the Bissell leaves the carpet soaking wet and it takes 24 hours to dry. Which I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews.
From other reviews of the Bissell, it sounds like to get the full benefit of the steam cleaning you should first go over the stains with just steam and then go over them using the solution. You did not do that step so I wonder how that would have impacted the results.
Possibly.
Thank you I’ve been going back and forth as my last dog in twilight of life I used a service over $800!! And a bissell handheld were now training a new puppy so no professional cleaners this time thank you for this video!!!
Glad I could help.
Thank you for the confirming some of the reviews on amazon about the bissell. Drying time is very important.
I was shocked how long it took to dry. I really like the Bissell but that's a big problem
Why are you going so much faster with the Bissell, and slower with the hoover, it’s like you want the hoover to win??
I did it the closest could. I paid for both of these and am not sponsored by either brand.
I completely forgot about that. This was more of a performance comparison
Should have used the bissell on quick dry settings which uses less water , then show the difference between steam wash and quick dry settings
I could. That would be a good test
I upgraded from the Hoover pet pro to the Hoover pet smart wash, I was annoyed with pulling the trigger to wash. I was going to get a bissell revolution but I liked how the Hoover brushes can be removed to clean that area. I’m surprised that Bissell didn’t change that for their steam version when it looks so nicer then the Hoover. I have a chow chow at home so when I shampoo I get those little hair balls that spit out too. That’s for the comparison. I’ll stay with my Hoover smart wash now lol
Great. I like both but the Hoover has more usability improvement
I need you to redo this video because you were going faster with the Bissell lol
I may sometime. Honestly, getting the speed exactly the same is pretty difficult. The Bissell still did a bit better anyway
Is it normal for it to make noise when reversing? Bissell revolutions
What type of noise?
Belt sound! Very loud!
@@VacMaster1991very loud belt sound!
When you clean your carpets, you're not suppose to go so fast.
If you go too slow the smartwash won't put down water
Not a very good design
I'm guessing it keeps people from holding it in place too long
👍🏻
Thanks
Are you going to return the Bissell?
Nope. I have had it too long. Plus it's great on stubborn stains. But I don't use it for whole house cleaning
@@VacMaster1991Have you thought about getting another standard revolution to compare to the Hydrosteam and Smartwash?
Possibly. I have already reviewed it though so it wouldn't make much financial sense. Since I like to review different machines each time
Hoover is paying this guy or something bias video. Everytime he compliments the bissel he takes a deep breathe and stressfully rants about how much water it uses...MOST BIAS VIDEO...
Bud. I'm not paid by anyone. The problem is the Bissell takes 24hrs to dry and leaves the carpet soaked. Which is a huge problem other reviewers overlooked.
@VacMaster1991 Still bias as a reviewer keep it neutral please.
@unorthodox7945 Nope. If something has an issue that big. I'm going to point it out and recommend the other product. If you don't like it, leave and watch someone else.
@VacMaster1991 Didn't know you was biased until I watched turned you off quick as possible
@@unorthodox7945 fantastic. Bye bye
I would go for the bissell because I like the trigger on the handle but I do make two wet passes and several dry passes for it to dry faster
I usually do one wet and two dry with the Bissell. With the Hoover I do two wet two dry
@@VacMaster1991 I do also use a fan after cleaning the carpets for it to dry faster
@@rawsonreich Same here
You did an amazing job with this test. The Hoover Smart wash is very impressive. I think I will buy that one. ❤
Get one I really like it
Smartwash is now broken in my garage as it would not release the water and solution at first, then threw out half the water in the tank and the solution in like 30 seconds….it wouldn’t pick up all the water and solution so now I have stained carpet …from my carpet cleaner….not cool….I’m going with the hydrosteam… yes it uses more water but if I only have to do a couple passes to get it clean it saves me a lot of time as well. So go ahead and buy something that will break in a couple of years….
Try it. Thy hydrosteam is really good at stains.
I'm not sure which one to choose between the Hoover and the Bissell 🤔.
Depends of your situation. The Bissell cleans better but uses more water. Hoover drys faster but does clean quite as well.
You know something... It's crazy reading the smart wash reviews of the trouble people have with them....I was reading a costco review and this person said she absolutely loves the machine...but she can only get it to last 6 mos before the same issue turns up (I can't remember what it was).. and Hoover sends her a new one... and the same thing happens. I think she said she was on her fourth machine... and yet you've had yours how long now with ZERO issues? I've also read other similar reviews about it.
I have had mine for two and a half years. No issues at all. It could be caused by people not cleaning there brush roll
Can these cleaner mop.and clean hard floors
@@ahm0os1 no. Only for carpet
I'm sold on the Bissell.
Fantastic.
I like that the Hoover mixes solution, which allows for rinsing. It also has the built in spot sprayer. Do both machines have carrying handles to make it easy to go up and down stairs?
@@ThePGChannel yes they do.
I'm sorry, but I refuse to use a machine that won't let me control the solution. It's literally impossible to do corners with the smartwash because you're no longer moving, you can't scrub an area extra on the pull, and you can't do a larger area and let it sit for a few minutes to let the solution work. Even worse, the Amazon reviews are full of people complaining that the roller bearing and various screws **rust**. Why on Earth wouldn't Hoover use Stainless Steel in a device with constant exposure to moisture? Apparently the Power Scrub line had the same problem, and they still haven't fixed it.
Unfortunately the Bissell has It's own fatal flaws. How did they forget the brush lock-out when the attachment is connected? Why is the suction so bad at getting the water out of the carpet? I've heard people improve this by adding a weight to the front of the cleaner and that fixes it, but the extra weight eventually wears out their spin brush motor.
All of these reviews on RUclips, and nobody seems to have a long-term ownership review. I honestly don't see how either of these machines are acceptable given those who _have_ reported back on sites like Amazon.
Both have pros and cons and it's up to you to decide which one is right for you
I have a smartwash for the last several years I like it alot but I will be buying the bissell I have a bunch of spot cleaners and uprights. The only one I hate, is the crosswave
Im more impressed with the Bissell's stain removal, but already ordered a Smart wash Pet for $169 yesterday. I usually go even slower than your slowest pass, so hoping the Hoover still does a decent job on pet stains. I just had my Pet Elite power scrub implode yesterday after a couple years. I wasnt a fan of the round scribbers anyway, so hopefully still an upgrade, plus about $150 off via Walmart online
Both are great. I just think the Hoover is designed better. That's a really good price you got
Hi I could not see any steam from the Bissell, did you have that activated at the same time in max setting ?
Yes. It was definitely on steam mode
I forgot to ask this before but did you ever decide to sell your LG R9? And do you still have it or have yup already sold it?
I still have it. Not much interest on eBay. If your interested I would be willing to sell it to you for $350.
@@VacMaster1991 I’d REALLY LOVE to buy it but I don’t have any money so unfortunately I cant
You sure you're not sponsored by Hoover? Your opinions on the Bissell seem to differ from previous videos.
Nope. I paid for both of these with my own money. The Bissell is fine. It just has some issues that they need to fix.
I'm looking at the Hoover because of the wet carpet problem with the Bissell. Great review!
Fantastic. The hoover leaves the carpet much cleaner.
I think you wanted hoover to win this. You went over with the bissell passes much faster and I don't want be there doing passes to get the carpet clean. The Bissell was the winner to me. and besides you did not use the steam.
I definitely used the steam. I paid for both and am not sponsored by either brand. The problem is the Bissell takes forever to dry and leaves carpet soaking wet. Which is a serious problem
I will definetly buy the bissell
If it works for you. Get it
