I've been watching sleds come up these chutes for years and holey comin in hot boys!!! good lord the view that man had up there had to be incredible... Epic video after a day of carnage lol
I absolutely love this event, those chutes are so gnarly. I love that you kept that awesome drone crash in the video, LOL! Awesome work documenting this, not the typical riding POV video but this type of content is wicked too! Another Great Video Matt!
Dude thanks for bringing the best footage from the BI Shootout man. I remember my first time attending back in 2007/8 I think. Used to be such a crazy event back in the day. If you have never been I highly recommend going because these guys are fucking insane!!!! Will make your heart pound just watching all the great action!! Thanks Matt
Awesome video. Austin Christopher needs a pilots license for that send. Looks like he enjoyed the ride! I got nervous just watching those guy on Gibb's Gash. Highly entertaining and some great shots. Those sleds are super cool. Impressed with the 600 catalyst turbo and how far it made it.
It’s so hard to show in video, when I’m flying the drone it’s even challenging, you think you’re flying up but looks like you’re flying level in to the chute
Holy crap man id be pooping my pants. Insane. Dawg with the no footer on the gash is gnarly af. Hope no one got seriously hurt. Those shoots look ridiculously steep.
Nice drone work btw, camera work in general but that shot where you followed one sled and then popped over to catch the next chute was itself one of the best rides of the day.
These are definitely the type of guys. A person loves to ride with. Nothing better than shot talking your buddy who doesn't male it but also cheering him on.
WOW! This probably my new favorite Muskoka video. Unbelievable footage, awesome sleds, killer riders, cant beat it!! So cool seeing Dawson become a chute climbing nut :D Edit: Lime green coat at 23:54 sure looks like Cory Micku riding style...
FYI: P85 Clutch first came out in 1985, almost 40 years ago and it can handle 250 to 300 HP. There new Clutch is a Joke, how disappointing. We used to run P85 primary and the Artic Cat secondary roller back in the 90's on our Mod sleds, they worked great together. @@benseinen9597
Having ridden snowmobiles since I was 3, but only just getting into mountain riding, it's like a whole new world. I knew 800's were a thing years ago, and turbos could negate elevation, but now it's like I have felt 165hp NA and KNOW that it's not enough for a lot of things. All of a sudden I'm seeing mods that people wouldn't have dreamed of 10 years ago. I'm fairly certain we'll see some great innovation in the next 5 years alone toward snowmobiles.
Actually most of the big yamaha 300 to 400 hp sleds were built over ten years ago, some engines were stuffed into light wieght polaris and Doo chassis. Now you can buy a light weight turbo 2 stroke with a 3 inch track with warranty which is way easier to ride than the big heavy yamaha's, those big HP four strokes are a real hand full to ride. You have to give those guys that still ride them a lot of credit.
Wow! That is some incredible footage... pretty impressive sleds and riders to boot! Best video yet. Never fun watching a season come to a close, dam what a way to do it!!
Dawson had some serious ground speed on his Polaris, way more than the other couple Polaris sleds. For sure do a 175, you could take it out on super deep days too. Nice filming btw!!
Watching this brings me back to he days of when chute sleds were full on custom builds, louder than hell, all kinds of whacky track lengths. Now most are just mildly upgraded stockers! Besides the random few.
I believe you, but when that catalyst almost topped out that chute that shows just crazy how far sleds have come in 20 years, back in those days you were a considered mad man if you were trying to go up those chutes with a stock sled. Most of the chute sleds looked like the exo framed green doo or crazier not an almost stock appearing sled just with the air filter out the hood. 😂
Matt you definitely should build a 174 light weight Mod sled, Just sell off 2 sleds and build one hill climber / exploration sled. The 146 Lynx can go since you prefer the 146 Doo, and one of the older sleds in the fleet.
Exactly, stretch out the 165 Doo, bigger turbo plus a water cooled intercooler installed in the tunnel just like the HM Turbo kits used to have. Pretty easy mods and your up and going. The water to Air intercooler makes a big difference on the long shoot climbs, it keeps the intake air temp way down, which makes more HP at lower boost levels@@MuskokaFreerider
Props to Dawson pinning all those shoots so beautifully. Does he have a nutty chute tune he dials in or was he just riding the sled as he did all year? I am not sure how easy it is to swap tunes on modern turbo sleds but I had six tunes for my subaru over a decade ago for use with different fuels and uses. Now that I think of it, given the reed system it is probably harder to just swap ecu tunes on modern sleds, no EFI.
That was awesome Mat , gnarly chutes ,great climbs , thanks to all the guys ,for putting there sleds on the line , nothing like ridding a billy goat on steroids , blows my mind .
This was the best edit of the season. That no foot on the gash was INSANE.
It was truly wild. Austin used vise grips to hold the turbo wide open 😂

Is Dawson's boost stock?
You’ve got everything else, might aswell build a chute machine?!?!
He had one build last year. But they crashed it while testing
The stock 165 turbo r is one lol

Dawson outright killing it today. Nice job dude 🤘
I look forward to your big iron shoot climb every year. Hands down the best vid(z) each winter.
Ps, mad props to Dawson on his climbs 👊
Something special about chute climbing!
Dawson is an animal!
@@MuskokaFreerideris he running big HP or just big balls on stock turbo?
@@kawalaperSteraulapusgot him set up with a geardown, p85 and team tied secondary
Dawson is used to pulling chutes with trees in them. This must have been a treat.
Chute climbing is fun, love watching these big Iron shootout vids. Reminds me of the ole Thunderstruck DVD's.
The blue G4 is a monster, that thing cranks as hard as any of em.
It had the vise grip mod going for the no footer
God dam

Epic Camera Angles….Even the Drone Snow Plant…..
Very Fun to watch the Chute Climbs especially with …First Person views
Glad you enjoyed!
This reminds me of the Laird MacDougall powerhouse crew vids from a while back. Used to watch those over and over again.
We was even out this weekend
The no foot off the gash & Calebs rock garden plant take the cake for my 2 favorite sled clips this season

The low drone shots really communicate the crazy steepness of those chutes

That gash jump from ol boy on the 175 fkn mint 👌
💯💯
That was a killer barrel role with the drone! That skidoo got hot next to the sun and decided to come back to earth. Awesome footage once again. ☆
Nice to see Dawson back in a video

Great job! Thanks for filming!
Amazing action, loved it!
The pull at 13:30 made my jaw drop. Such a badass video!!!
Dawson carries some crazy sled/ track speed up those chute’s.
More than I expected on a stock boost
Got him set up with a gear down, p85 and team tied secondary. Works really well

Austin for all the style points. Daws killin it too.
Awesome professional style video, keep up the great work, glad you didn't climb, but congrats to Dawson

He doesn’t like alpine riding but he loves chutes
Best video of the year. I wish you would check out all their sleds in the video. Love to see the yamahas
Yes it would be nice to see under the hoods of the big Mod sleds and also what type of rear suspensions they are running. Also Clutches.
