Just got done watching this and their reaction to Christmas Truce. I got to say, this is awesome, taking characters from Gate and having them react to Sabaton is so cool. I recently found out about this anime last year and since then, it's become one of my new favorite animes to watch. This was amazing. I want to see more of these. Keep it up.👍👍👍👍

All that keeps that at bay is the balance of power and flawed humans not giving into temptation, desperation, anger, fear, spite, etc. But new weapons are invented. This was the first industrial war, and it showed unprecedented capacity for slaughter. Weapons that would also be surpassed in time. Even now, new ways of fighting are developed, and old forbidden ones wait for the day we do the unconscionable, even if in retaliation.

They used their bayonets as spears and their rifles as clubs, they used axes, shovels, knives, and broken tree branches in a sort of berserker-styled attack, all while one or two of the Russian howitzers were brought up and fired into the retreating Germans. This event rapidly became headline news all aroudn the world, however the dead mens' sacrifice would be in vain, as Osowiec was captured a few weeks later. Only two battles would be won by the Russians throughout WW1.
