It booms in here to Finland. It’s been weaker of late but it can be heard with just a whip on a portable. It’s great they are continuing to broadcast on SW.
@ Yes I was a big listener to Radio Australia. I have QSL’s and stickers. It’s sad that Alice Springs left on 2310 kHz as that was a favourite catch years ago. Here we get ABC Busselton (Perth) on 1152 kHz MW and ABC Adelaide on 891 kHz coming into Northern Finland.
That is the main time I listen for them each day and I usually find my doublet gives me a fair bit better signal to listen to than my Wellbrook loop does up at that frequency. They get a lot stronger a couple of hours later. 73.
I received it in the North of Poland, today around noon, loud and clear on my portable receivers with their telescopic antennas (TECSUN PL660 and also QODOSEN DX 286). At first I couldn't believe it was New Zealand Pacific in such a great quality, but confirmed it with the internet stream! 73!
@@OxfordShortwaveLog Ah I am sure that was a one off, worth buying again, you can't be unlucky twice surely ! The batteries in mine have absolutely no drain at all
Oxford Shortwave Log: I'm in the market for a new shortwave radio, but I want it to have ALL the bands including air, weather, CB, VHF, and UHF. I want it to be able to pull in distant signals without having any fading. A radio that's really going to 'reach out and touch a station'! What do you suggest?
Hi there, well you want a lot lol, but I can't answer your question without knowing your buget?! By the way, you can't avoid fading through radio choice! Let me know. 73
In that case I could go for the Malahit DSP3. It has wideband coverage and a spectrum scope/waterfall. I just got one and it's amazing. It will appear on the channel soon. 73

It is great they are continuing. I still miss ABC and the NT etc.

Yes, I managed to copy all of their signals over a period of 2 or 3 years, such a shame they left shortwvae. Wow to getting Aus on medium wave! 73

Thanks for your comments. It was definitely a bit early to copy them well but getting to work on time is (unfortunately!) more important lol.
@@OxfordShortwaveLog maybe you'll have a chance at the weekend to hear them on 13755kHz around 0900z with a great signal 😀
Yes, hopefully! 73

It never gets old hearing these guys. This was very early to copy them in the UK in darkness. I have a better copy later on the following morning. 73!
Why do you always use expensive radios? It makes me jealous and leave stupid comments. ;)
AWESOME Clint as always my man!
Ha ha ha! Thanks my friend. When are we doing the collab?! 73
👍
Thanks
Ooh that's very weak. I have had it much stronger some weeks ago. Quite good just now though on my Raddy RF 919 portable
Yes but remember this was recorded at 06:59 hrs in complete darkness and in mid-winter - not exactly ideal for the 22 metre band!
@@OxfordShortwaveLog Ah that's very early yes no wonder then. 7390 I forgot about, that was strong yesterday again on the quirky Raddy
I really liked the RF919 - just a shame mine wasn't reliable. 73

@@OxfordShortwaveLog I was thinking around 500 dollars or less.
