Tencel, linen and bamboo are my favorite plant-based yarns. I usually don't like 100% plant based, so I look for blends. One of my favorite things is to use a lace-weight strand of plant fiber with a strand of something like mohair, alpaca or wool. I am new here, and am really enjoying your podcasts. :)

I like knitting linen for warmer weather - it gets softer with wear and washing and looks great. I like knitting simple patterns with linen like CocoKnits' Leonie. The olive wood grain shows up so beautifully in your little pieces!

My favorite plant based fiber is cotton.
I have grown cotton and loved seeing the different colors pop out! There is a light and dark brown, pink, and of course white. I enjoy spinning yarn too. It was so fun spinning the cotton right from the plant pod!
I enjoy your podcast and all your generous information. Your crafts are beautiful.

I'm knitting with Sandnes Garn "Line" (53% cotton, 33% viscose and 14% linen) the Mangrovetee, and I'm really enjoying the process. Once I finish with it, I would like to knit the Ranunculus top, watching you talking so much about it just convinced me. Thank you for sharing your lovely projects with us 😊.

I tend to gravitate to bamboo but I’m trying to find eucalyptus base.
Tomorrow I have 2 yarn shops on my “going to town” list of stops. Mission search out plant base yarn!
Your podcast are so very soothing to me…your voice has such a nice calming effect! (I’ve found the high pitch podcasters I don’t watch as much then I figured out I gravitate to the soothing voices😊) so I was completely grateful to get the alert of your new upload! ❤️

Your videos really help me get through my work day Martina, thank you so much for all the hard work!
I think, for plant based fibers, my favorite needs to be linen. My mom is allergic to wool - I spent a long time to find a yarn that felt as good in the hand as wool, but my primary desire in knitting is to be able to make the nice things that I think my mom deserves :)

I knit with anything I have on hand (plant based and non)- it gets so cold where I live (no one else seems to think WA is cold, but I’m from AZ, so I’m in layers 365 days a year). I like knitting with linen and cotton for under layers like tank tops, tees, etc.
I tried the Ranunculus last week and must have been having an off day- it was a mess! At the beginning of the yoke, I had 50 extra stitches on my needles.
I may try it again now that I’ve seen it on you!
The buttons you made are absolutely gorgeous! You truly have talent!

I love Drops Belle because I live in a hot climate and it has proved to me to me to be very cool in the summertime. It has cotton, linen and viscose in it and has made me a fan of viscose as it improves the texture when knitting and the drape is so delicious. Drops Belle knits up at about 24 st per 10cm or 4" - very manageable. I recently bought safran as well, but have not used it yet. It's much thinner, almost fingering weight,, and the T shirt I'll make will undoubtedly take longer, but I want to see what a thin knit will wear like. And of course Drops is so affordable, which I need at this time.

Hello! My favorite plant based yarn so far is Ramie. I spin my own yarn so blending it with pure cotton makes the fibers very strong and durable if I want to weave a cloth with it. Did you know that it was used in China over 2000 years ago before cotton? When wet it is 8 times stronger than cotton and it has a beautiful silky sheen to it. I love your podcast and your items are very beautiful.

I'm so inspired to see what people are knitting and what their fiber choices are.
I had found a yarn from portugal that was made from corn fiber and fell in love, sadly it isn't currently being made,so bamboo will be my next favourite.
I just started getting back into designing and creating a summer collection, and the current yarn for the first piece is 54cotton,34wool,and 12silk
The prototype was done in a basic yarn, and just about finished the second piece in a colourful cotton blend

I love your ranunculus sweater! I live in a warm southern state, so cotton and linen are my favorite fibers to work with! Just finished the half and half wrap, so simple dishcloths might be just what I need!
Thank you for a great calming podcast!

I love linen but have found that it's not easy to work with on my hands. I have a friend who told me that I should wash the yarn because that'll soften it. But I have made the skeins into balls- so I haven't touched it.

I just finished my first ranunculus last week. I love it so much!!! I definitely want to make another one in a linen blend or even hemp yarn. As always I loved your episode. So happy You Tube recommended your channel.

I have two favorites: hemp and linen ❤️ i have a linen cardigan which is like wearing a hug, even in the winter, layered up, is amazing! I want to try and knit some lacy linen socks 😝 And with hemp I knitted a dishcloth and it was very weird, but nice to knit, I want to try and knit a hemp tshirt 😊
Overall I want to knit more and more with plant fibres and now spring is showing up so it’s the perfect time 😊
All the best and take care 👋

I love your podcast! Your videos make me feel so relaxed 😁❤ I'd love to try knitting a lightweight top in linen yarn, or maybe a hemp yarn. Your plant-based fibre journey is inspiring me!💚xxx

I love your podcast, so calm. I never knit with linen more with cotton and bamboo.
