My front lawn has lots of undulations that I want to minimise. Will that soil spreader help with such a large area? Also how low should the soil be compared to the concrete edging of paths/retaining walls?
It will do decent job if the dips are as wide as the rake but anything is possible with a bit of mucking around. And soild should be 30-40mm below depending on how thick the cut of grass you are getting, buffalo is generally a thicker cut then say couch 👍🏻
No coincidences … we had a freeze this past winter that did my grass in … I don’t know how this one was different- colder than normal at 20F /-6C we aren’t prepared for that to hang around and it did for a few days. Wiped my lawn out , but last year it was 12F/-11C These are ridiculous cold for Houston, Texas. Now I am redoing the lawn next week. So, any easy ideas how to get the mud /dead grass off the top? To put dirt on top doesn’t sound right without taking off residuals ie dead grass . Thanks for suggestions.
I actually had a similar issue and wish I recorded my results. So many opinions on line regarding laying turf on top of existing turf. I decided in the end to lay some soil and then turf on top of the existing and it worked perfectly. Maybe in some situations it may not be ideal but I can confirm that it did work for me👍
@@billshowto Thank you. That would be so much easier on me. Great video. And thanks for your valid proof. This is what I’m doing. I’ll follow you , thanks again! Rex
I wouldn't be laying grass in that narrow space. I would be putting gravel down instead. Doesn't look like you would get much sunlight there. Good video, though.
Great instructional video Bill
Hope the homeowner got a big discount buying the house. That road noise!!!! 😩
Great stuff as usual Bill. Loving your work again.
Can’t beat Sir Walter by the looks of it. 😎
Exactly 👍
Great! Pretty hard work. Anything you CANNOT do Bill? Thanks for the video. And yes, the traffic noise was annoying. Thanks again
Thanks for the video Bill, your videos are always very informative and you always do a quality job
Cheers Bill this will give me bags of time to put my new turf down
👍
Thanks Bill! Great video!
Love it Bill. looks great.

Great job & video, blessings.
Nice job job Bill. Don't forget the knee pads next time...and the ear muffs😁
Mate, you can lay some new lawn in my backyard anyday ... I've only got 50 square meters to do 🙂
Good work
That soil spreader is the bomb - Bill did you level the soil slight drop away from house ? Or is not needed on this project
It has a slight slope towards the back corner of the property 👍

All depends on the type of turf you use. This variety of buffalo turf is shade tolerant 👍
Billshowto Do you have a preferred species of turf to use in a full sun location please.
Palmetto. 👍👍👍
👍🏽👍🏽
bill is a legend...how do we contact you for work champ
Unfortunately I don’t take on much private work. So much I want to do and run out of time everyday. 👍
Jesus imagine living next to that, drive me insane
Sorry bill but the traffic noise made it hard to watch
Agreed 👍
Imagine what it is like for the people living there. I was amazed at the constant traffic noise. I'd go mental if it was my home. 😞
