She had too much pressure to be perfect all the time just for Abby and never allowed to make mistakes to the point that she started having panic attacks when she messed up a dance. When she forgot her solo she had a panic attack and was scared that Abby was going to hate her because Abby manipulated her into thinking that she let her down whenever she wasn't at the top or met her expectations. She had a group dance, trio or duet, and solo every single week and Abby expected her to nail everything and win 1st . The poor girl could never catch a break because Abby always put her against other dancers and made them her rivals to push her to work harder without caring that she is burning her out. It wasn't her fault that Abby wanted to change the scores when Chloe beat her she was just a child, when she did the duet with Kalani she didn't know they were doing it against Chloe and Paige because Abby suddenly decided to put the other duet because she didn't believe in Chloe and Paige but that's not Maddie's fault at all she was a child who was called a liar and had her friendship end because of her toxic dance teacher, also when Chloe got the scholarship to Joffrey all the other girls did too in different dance styles including Maddie but the producers made it seem like she was jealous of Chloe but in reality she was arguing with her mom, another time where Kenzie beat her she had the brightest smile on her face and hugged Kenzie. Melissa kept on telling her to be happy when she wasn't even doing anything wrong because she knew that the producers where trying to make it seem like she wasn't happy for her sister which annoyed Maddie. She said that she should've beat Kenzie but the producers definitely told her to say it because her reaction on stage was way too genuine to be fake. All the times where she acted like a brat it's because the producer told her to and she confirmed that in an interview. She didn't have good treatment from Abby she ONLY did when she won which was very manipulative of Abby. To prove this, Abby once scolded Maddie for staying out of the studio with everyone else because the moms planned this against Abby because they were mad at her for something. Abby literally started guilt tripping her and making her feel bad that she did that to the point that Maddie started crying, Abby also yelled at Maddie for skating behind her back because they weren't allowed to because of the contract, Abby also treated Maddie terribly when Sophia came to make her jealous and push herself harder, also when the CADC danced to Chandelier in S4 at nationals Abby asked Maddie wether or not she wanted to do the Chandelier number and shov it all in their faces for revenge Maddie refused because one of her friend's solo was going to be taken away and she didn't want to be mean and take away the opportunity from her friend which is really sweet but Abby was mad at her for choosing not to do it which proves that Abby actually wanted her to do it so she didn't actually have a choice she had to say yes either way to make Abby happy which is really manipulative. Abby also once told Maddie that if she loses she will be letting Sia down and a bunch of other celebrities she worked with to make her scared and nervous. In summary, she had really terrible trauma and now that I think of it it was even worse for her because none of the girls could relate to her and no one actually comforted her when she was going through a hard time even though she was the one who was their for everyone. For example, when she forgot her solo no one comforted her except her mom and psycho Abby but when anyone else forgot their solos she was their for tha t person including all the girls and moms. When the other girls won or got an opportunity everyone celebrated them but when Maddie succeeded they all blamed it on the favoritism instead of being happy for her despite everything because she was just a little girl who deserved to be celebrated. To make it worse when she failed everyone was happy because this meant that they will get an opportunity. And all this because of the stupid favoritism that was never Maddie's fault 💔💔.
