I think this is a very fair and mature assessment. This is just a dopey game at the end of the day, and while the bully pulpit is popular, it is disgusting, and my biggest complaint about the community in general. Is it any wonder why it is so pervasive when one of these streamers who do it just happens to be one of the most watched? As a hack who plays trials every now and again to sneak a couple of decent rolls, only to be dm’d by similarly skilled players going out of their way to let me know I am trash, I can empathize. @@jakemoffat1927 I'm pretty sure the other two players will have loss protection if the 3rd leaves during the first 30 seconds or so of a match or when flying in. If they leave after that, then there's no loss protection for anyone. That's why you often see streamers doing carriers do that if they're up against a stack they assume they'll lose too. The one that leaves will get a loss, but the carry and the other will have the loss forgiven so they can get the carry flawless without resetting their card. The one that left then just rejoins the game in progress, but it's a safeguard for the carry's ticket essentially.

His comments during that game were hilarious considering he plays wormhusk for 99% of his pvp gameplay and before this broken prismatic hunter meta came about he played almost exclusively invis hunter. This guy's ego has gotten out of control and he could care less about helping other creators or any of the people he carries to lighthouse. 100% cares about his wallet before anything else. Yeh because all those 1.0s that turn 2.5s with 90% accuracy ain't sus bro😂. I went from 1.1 to 2.1 but it took a year and it was a normal curve, skyrocketing from season to season isnt. Yesterday i played a guy who was 2.5kd and last 2 seasons he is 5.4 and 6.1 respectively and he couldn't even 1v3 me( my bot team left round 1 god praise duos). It because if it a close game or anything it not fun. I call self a average 2kd 1.8 run at 2.2 most weekends. People in a 1v3 and the 3 people hiding zone is so bull I will always try to engage them because I am no weak man but they will not even sit on zone. Just hide around it. I was in wallah’s stream recently and I may have gotten on his nerves lol, I said that I was trying to improve and I’m on ps4, he said that upgrading makes a big difference, then I asked if he could change his frames so I could see the difference, while he was mid match 😂 I probably kinda came of as questioning his advice lol, I think he was playing with bui too LMAO

This was very well put together and civil. Used to like Jake a lot, and I'm not a great player. There's been times I play against him and lose hard, say gg in chat, and he's chill. But if I'm using a cheesy load out, (most recent being speakers spam) he instantly becomes so toxic due to not wanting to lose. If he's winning, he's chill, if he's losing, or having to actually fight for a win, he becomes so shit talky, and makes so much excuses. Like...bro. I'm NOT a top tier player. I have to leverage WHATEVER I can in game to level the playing field. Don't be a dick about it.

Last time I played Jake, Fizz, and Gold with my PvE friends, one of them clipped his stream and Jake was calling me a freak the entire game because I wasn't challing smgs in close range. Though I appreciate all his accomplishments and the sacrifices he made to help others, sometimes what he says rubs off the wrong way to me. He sounds like the average PvP player when they die or lose. Complaining about everything. Some of it is justified, but majority of it isn’t. There’s a big difference when I watch his videos and when I watch Frost. Frostbolt understands he’s playing the best of the best, and he doesn’t really complain. He usually calls out his own mistakes and questions what he could have done better. It’s night and day the differences in mindsets between him and Jake. And that’s why I think Jake isn’t top tier.

Jake is certainly a specimen to say the least. I’ve had the misfortune to run against him in stacked teams with my duo a handful of times. I’ll however never forget a card I ran on Disonance when Igneous Hammer was in rotation. I’m the worse player on my team and am well aware of it, the game I played against him and Thrower I believe he bagged me after he lost 3 engagements to me and I was 3rd partied by his carry and shot downed by them sniping twice while he ran Foerunner Heliocentric on a Mechaneer’s build. I actually did pretty good that game and was satisfied with my performance and when I made a joke about it in his chat he pretended like it didn’t just happen.
I loved the way you handled this man, very mature and extremely thought out. Your depth of communication is a highlight for me, you showed a high level of knowledge, and emotional intelligence. I hope that things can get to place where you both just play together and positivity wins brother

Hmmm… I like Jake. I think he means well and I think he’s a good person. I don’t know you but I’ve looked through a couple of your videos and went through this one from start to finish and though you don’t need to read my entire comment, here’s my breakdown: Jake loses to you a lot it seems (wish you could show what your record is against him). That being said, Jake’s personality has shifted into a more positive direction ever since the Checkmate sandbox changes. Less BS and more actual skill play. But the problem is Jake is either really liked or really hated. The people that don’t like him just egg on the BS nonstop. So when he loses or has reactions to players or game outcomes, people clip him and make fun of him as if he supposed to be this gargantuan idol for us all to look up to. He’s just a person, he’s not perfect. That being said, he is pretty wrong about what he is saying about you. If I was playing against you, I would also 100% think you’re stat farming and I would also be talking shit. BUT, as mentioned, I’ve seen your gameplay and have figured out your play style and realized what sets you apart from the rest of us-your positioning is fucking impeccable. You’re absolutely right, you do NOT have to show your face on a 1v3 when the others are capping, for what, you’re just guaranteeing they build super collectively. You’re also right about waiting it out or jumping off the map. You know your chances of getting your super before others is higher on average so jumping off the map is pointless since you could make better use of your super and therefore should stay alive as long as you can. So why push 3v1s? Why push anything that is absolute death? If you can pull one and kill him before the point is active, the outcome now can play in your favor. There’s other things that play into all this but that’s getting into MnK vs controller drama and quite frankly idgaf but you know where the differences lie and where our advantages are against controller players just how we know where controllers advantage is and what we should avoid. Overall I think your play style is brilliant, I don’t think your aim is anything out of the ordinary nor do I think it’s special, it’s just very good. But your decision making and positioning is fucking phenomenal. I think it is a bit unfair that Jake has a bigger platform to be heard more than you BUT, I do appreciate this response of a video to recent events as it sheds major light on everything. I think your play style counters Jake’s play style tremendously and has to be enraging after years of the same outcome. (Share your Trials record against him). I look forward to your content.

I play on console and matched with Jake 2 or so years ago I guess when he played it as well. Either way we beat them on Rusted Lands. No bagging, no toxicity, so when I went to his stream afterwards to say GG only to watch the match back from his POV and watched him relentlessly shit talk my Point of the Stag/Bastion combo. I asked him in chat why bows were viewed as cheesy even if I wasn’t hot swapping and he banned me. He’s a man child

Jake speaks the same way i did back in my days of Battlefield 4 playing with a competitive clan when we used to run into Brazilian teams. They would relentlessly attack our gimme flags. It was extremely annoying but their tactics were also extremely effective and forced us to waste time/energy rooting them out. As i got older i learned to respect these strats. Play to win/make the smart move which is what you are doing.
He's not washed he's a very good player but certainly never had been a top 1% player. Plenty of people that are better. He doesn't care of KD. All he cares about is viewers and $. Look at his viewers every weekend. I'm amazed how many people watch him.

Not all streamers have a Big brain. To me i think he is simply just one of those players who like to charge head on at every single game and struggle to understand other playstyles. His takes are not that different to other Head On assault in a game, competitive, pvp. It happens. Has an ego, but lets be real, who doesnt have some sort of ego. I just hit 1100 hours (rookie numbers, I know) and have never really touched PvP because it felt a bit janky and kinda slow/delayed unlike other games I’ve played. However, hearing you describe the way you approached certain situations and your different strats, it almost makes me want to give it another chance. Also, loved hearing you talk like a level headed human rather than a sensationalist loud-equals-views type of person. Subbed even though I’m not an avid PvP guy, thanks for the video!
Jake doesn't understand why you play how you do because Jake is not a particularly "talented" player. He plays Destiny 2 as a career. He plays a LOT. He plays with one strong exotic a LOT. He plays with an input that benefits that weapon. He's a knucklehead who lacks self-awareness, in and out of game. Same reason why every three months, he'll publicly accuse someone of cheating, start a witch-hunt, backpedal, and block anyone who talks about it.
Jake turns into a different person when losing. He has said in the past he needs to work on it but it’s something he will never get better on. Losing sucks.

Used to like Jake a lot, and I'm not a great player. There's been times I play against him and lose hard, say gg in chat, and he's chill. But if I'm using a cheesy load out, (most recent being speakers spam) he instantly becomes so toxic due to not wanting to lose. If he's winning, he's chill, if he's losing, or having to actually fight for a win, he becomes so shit talky, and makes so much excuses.

Grenader Jake is a good player, but he’s not top tier imo. Though I appreciate all his accomplishments and the sacrifices he made to help others, sometimes what he says rubs off the wrong way to me. He sounds like the average PvP player when they die or lose. Complaining about everything. Some of it is justified, but majority of it isn’t.
There’s a big difference when I watch his videos and when I watch Frost. Frostbolt understands he’s playing the best of the best, and he doesn’t really complain. He usually calls out his own mistakes and questions what he could have done better. It’s night and day the differences in mindsets between him and Jake. And that’s why I think Jake isn’t top tier.

It’s called playing smart and having a strategy. Everyone has one, some are better than others, and it is what it is.
Jake is certainly a specimen to say the least. I’ve had the misfortune to run against him in stacked teams with my duo a handful of times. I’ll however never forget a card I ran on Disonance when Igneous Hammer was in rotation. I’m the worse player on my team and am well aware of it, the game I played against him and Thrower I believe he bagged me after he lost 3 engagements to me and I was 3rd partied by his carry and shot downed by them sniping twice while he ran Foerunner Heliocentric on a Mechaneer’s build. I actually did pretty good that game and was satisfied with my performance and when I made a joke about it in his chat he pretended like it didn’t just happen.
Great video and I love the fact you disengage when you feel you might be at a disadvantage... it's something I've learned to do and it serves me well.

Hmmm… I like Jake. I think he means well and I think he’s a good person. I don’t know you but I’ve looked through a couple of your videos and went through this one from start to finish and though you don’t need to read my entire comment, here’s my breakdown:
Jake loses to you a lot it seems (wish you could show what your record is against him). That being said, Jake’s personality has shifted into a more positive direction ever since the Checkmate sandbox changes. Less BS and more actual skill play. But the problem is Jake is either really liked or really hated. The people that don’t like him just egg on the BS nonstop. So when he loses or has reactions to players or game outcomes, people clip him and make fun of him as if he supposed to be this gargantuan idol for us all to look up to. He’s just a person, he’s not perfect. That being said, he is pretty wrong about what he is saying about you. If I was playing against you, I would also 100% think you’re stat farming and I would also be talking shit. BUT, as mentioned, I’ve seen your gameplay and have figured out your play style and realized what sets you apart from the rest of us-your positioning is fucking impeccable.
You’re absolutely right, you do NOT have to show your face on a 1v3 when the others are capping, for what, you’re just guaranteeing they build super collectively. You’re also right about waiting it out or jumping off the map. You know your chances of getting your super before others is higher on average so jumping off the map is pointless since you could make better use of your super and therefore should stay alive as long as you can. So why push 3v1s? Why push anything that is absolute death? If you can pull one and kill him before the point is active, the outcome now can play in your favor.
There’s other things that play into all this but that’s getting into MnK vs controller drama and quite frankly idgaf but you know where the differences lie and where our advantages are against controller players just how we know where controllers advantage is and what we should avoid.
Overall I think your play style is brilliant, I don’t think your aim is anything out of the ordinary nor do I think it’s special, it’s just very good. But your decision making and positioning is fucking phenomenal. I think it is a bit unfair that Jake has a bigger platform to be heard more than you BUT, I do appreciate this response of a video to recent events as it sheds major light on everything. I think your play style counters Jake’s play style tremendously and has to be enraging after years of the same outcome. (Share your Trials record against him).

I play on console and matched with Jake 2 or so years ago I guess when he played it as well. Either way we beat them on Rusted Lands. No bagging, no toxicity, so when I went to his stream afterwards to say GG only to watch the match back from his POV and watched him relentlessly shit talk my Point of the Stag/Bastion combo.
I asked him in chat why bows were viewed as cheesy even if I wasn’t hot swapping and he banned me. He’s a man child

Jake speaks the same way i did back in my days of Battlefield 4 playing with a competitive clan when we used to run into Brazilian teams. They would relentlessly attack our gimme flags. It was extremely annoying but their tactics were also extremely effective and forced us to waste time/energy rooting them out. As i got older i learned to respect these strats. Play to win/make the smart move which is what you are doing.

Good channel here, and yes, people do get mad. Not about him more about his play style. His play style is very interesting and unfun to face. He does pretty much everything win and does not die. It's not a bad thing. But no one likes people holding zone, not caping 1v3 and a guy who doesn't engage. At all

He not a camper I call people with this player "half map" as like he will play the game but will stick to a side of the map bait team or will always return to home when stuff get tight. It not a bad thing it smart but it not fun to face.

I just hit 1100 hours (rookie numbers, I know) and have never really touched PvP because it felt a bit janky and kinda slow/delayed unlike other games I’ve played. However, hearing you describe the way you approached certain situations and your different strats, it almost makes me want to give it another chance. Also, loved hearing you talk like a level headed human rather than a sensationalist loud-equals-views type of person. Subbed even though I’m not an avid PvP guy, thanks for the video!

Jake doesn't understand why you play how you do because Jake is not a particularly "talented" player. He plays Destiny 2 as a career. He plays a LOT. He plays with one strong exotic a LOT. He plays with an input that benefits that weapon.
He's a knucklehead who lacks self-awareness, in and out of game. Same reason why every three months, he'll publicly accuse someone of cheating, start a witch-hunt, backpedal, and block anyone who talks about it.

@tacooo1888 as long as there is his own content spliced in and it's not mostly someone else's, I see it as fair use. If it were totally Jake's content and he did nothing to it but add a title and upload, then I would see a major problem.
Good video. First time coming across you. TBH I folllow Jake a d find him really entertaining. But I see your point of view too. If I had to guess, he finds your play style unenjoyable to play against. And frankly, idk how all of you playing and streaming trials all weekend long don’t bitch about each other.
