It actually makes it harder to book when you don’t have these big events regularly enough. You have to basically draw blood from a stone to keep an upcoming match interesting for 8 weeks and 40+ hours of TV. You run the risk of people getting bored about the match before it ever gets to happen. In the old days there was one 30 minute weekly show and it was easier to draw things out. A lot of times you wouldn’t see wrestlers for weeks at a time. That doesn’t fly in today’s wrestling.
The 2 main problems: literally 0 storylines, which are the heart and core of wrestling, and there are no main eventers except Reigns I guess. We have Priest vs Uso for the WHC, you really can't make this up, this should be a midcard match at best.

While i agree with a lot of yer points, i have to say that some of these issues were kinda inevitable. Firstly WWE's too big now. There's too many managers, admin and other staff types to maintain that experimentation has become "risky". They need consistent cash every week.... Secondly, I disagree that WWE was mainstream before....it was popular, but still a popular niche....When it truly became mainstream, they could no longer do things like divaz pillow fights, hardcore matches and the like because their sponsors wouldn't approve. When a brand becomes mainstream it always becomes blander. 3. On superstars being largely midcarders and having no more superstars.... to an extent I think its fully intentional. They don't want a wrestler who's brand is bigger than the company anymore so definitely won't allow true superstars to be born. 4th, Social Media ruined Kayfabe. Before social media it was possible to keep the kayfabe that each wrestler was a bloodthristy psycho who would beat fools at the drop of a hat. Now with social media, we have dudes showing aspects of their real lives, breaking the illusion. Its difficult to create convincing gimmicks when the dude's social media shows their true selves. I really think that no old school superstar would have become a legend in the era of social media. characters like kane and undertaker would have never taken off....cuz their mystique and scary factor would be deflated by a cutesy video their wives made of them online. 5. Everyone being a midcarder and looking the same is not really a flaw but a consequence of running a big system. Yeah it sucks, but once something gets big, the focus goes from how do we do the best job to how do we do the most efficient job. Thus lots of samey midcarders. 6. finishers....hmmmmmm... I don't really onow what to say on this one cuz its an issue of what the wrestler wants, His ability to consistently hit the finisher, If WWE likes it and IF Regulators/sponsors allow it. It's not that simple. 7. No storylines.....what did ya expect? Social media and sponsors ruined the ability to write long form stories. From Saudi influencing the storylines leading to events in their countries, to the chaotic shitpile that is the internet and social media, there are too many factors that writers need to have in mind when writing from week to week .... that's not counting sudden injuries, releases and other backstage stuff. I cannot watch modern WWE. I tried watching Backlash and there were 3 matches and it was seriously an hour and a half into the show with only 3 matches. I remember back in the day when I would watch the 3 stages of hell matches between Stone Cold vs Triple H , or Triple H vs HBK and those would go like a half hour to 45 minutes and I thought that was long back then...but both of those matches were excellent. These 30 minute matches with no pacing, no one maintains any heat or comebacks, etc is BORING!
