How does this American boy feel on his third visit to Afghanistan

- Easton first came to Afghanistan back in April 2023 as he wanted to visit the Wakhan Corridor, located in the Badakshan province. Travelling in Afghanistan requires provincial permits, and Easton was informed that he would need to go to Kabul to get the required permit for his trip.
As the only person in the Badakhshan Ministry of Tourism who could speak English proficiently, I was introduced to Easton as his accompaniment to Kabul, and to ensure a smooth process at the government office when obtaining his required permit. However, owing to visa time limits, his plans changed and I took him to other provinces in Afghanistan instead, such as Bamyan, Nuristan,Kabul, Kunduz and Takhar. That was where our friendship started.
Fast forward to June 2024 in Easton’s third visit to beautiful Afghanistan, we are reconnected in Faizabad (the capital of Badakhshan), after his week-long motorcycle trip in the Wakhan Corridor, where he originally dreamed of visiting. The Wakhan Corridor is a narrow strip of untouched mountainous valleys, bordered by Tajikistan, China and Pakistan.
In this video, we discuss Easton’s and Luke’s experience in the Wakhan Corridor over some Afghan cherries and melon, along with their impression of Afghanistan from an Americans’ perspective. Notwithstanding Western narratives and headlines of my home country, Easton is ecstatic about his third trip in Afghanistan and shares more about his attraction to the vast history, nature, culture and hospitality that Afghanistan offers.

There is no doubt that the people of Afghanistan are hospitable, they consider anyone who visits their country as their guest and they treat them very kindly and even many of them take foreign tourists to their homes and treat them like a guest. Dear, they welcome them, but I mean the overwhelming majority of the people of Afghanistan, and there may be a very small number of bad people in Afghanistan, just like anywhere in the world, who want to abuse foreigners or deceive them and take their money. They steal, this is a natural thing, but the story of the Taliban is different. They are really a violent, fanatical, ethnic, and criminal group, and the reason they behave well with foreign tourists is because they need to be recognized by the countries of the world. They try to behave well with foreign tourists in order to show a good and beautiful face of themselves to the world, but their behavior with the people of Afghanistan, especially the non-Pashtun ethnic groups of Afghanistan, and especially the Hazaras, is very bad and violent and discriminatory, and the people also because of the environment The repression and terror created by the Taliban cannot tell the truth to foreign tourists because they are afraid of the Taliban's punishment and revenge, and the Taliban have committed and continue to commit many crimes, oppression, and discrimination against the Hazara people, such as genocides. killings and usurping the areas and lands of their villages in different provinces and regions of Afghanistan, as well as destroying their houses on various pretexts, such as non-standard or usurped or state ownership of their lands, as well as destroying and destroying the crops and products of the Hazara people by The Pashtun nomads who, with the support of the Taliban, sent their large herds of goats, sheep and camels to the Hazara areas in order to graze and destroy the Hazaras, which is the result of their one-year hard work, under the pretext of grazing their flocks in the mountains and plains, as well as the coercion of the Taliban. A lot of money by Taliban continues from Hazaras under different pretexts, as well as harassing Hazaras under the pretext of having or hiding weapons and taking money and extorting money from them under the same pretext. are doing that it is impossible to really say or write all those atrocities, crimes and discriminations in this ambush and in this short text, and also these oppressions against the Tajik and Wazik ethnic groups continue by the Taliban, who themselves are (99) percent Pashtuns. The end with a smaller scale is milder and the oppression and discrimination against the Hazaras is more severe because they are not only ethnically but also religiously different from the Taliban and follow the Shiite religion.
