i have always wanted to know.... wtf is the point of an orchestra conductor? i mean, being wacky, waving inflatable tube man with a stick is great and all, but i dont get it..
He is the tempo for every musician playing. He conducts all the orchestra so that they can play their part in due time. Otherwise it would be hard, as farest musicians may not even be able to hear each other. Besides, he decides the intensity and accent played in every passage.
uh, huh.... except for the fact that he is COMPLETELY off tempo, and just stands there waving his stick around. if you cant read the music, you shouldnt be in an orchestra. sheet music is far more important than some overpaid, over-hyped, stick waver. nobody is even paying attention to him either, so again, whats the point of being the wacky wailing inflatable tube man?
Time is malleable, conductor decides in which tempo he is gonna conduct the song/piece. That's why adagio, allegro and every other tempo marking are not saying "this has to be played at 115 bpm". Instead, there is a tempo range to be played in that varies from X to Y, depending on agogic accents and tempo markings. Just, how do you know the tempo of a song usually? You can tell by the drums, which happens to conduct the song in a band.
timing "tempo" is at the beginning of each measure....
@@millermonsterair And that tempo is not set in stone. It is simply what the composer wanted it to be played at. The conductor and other members of the orchestra may decide they wish to have it faster or slower to change the tone and feeling of the piece of music.
