This is probably your best one yet. Bandai has been definitely caught missing some extra shading on even Kuji figures nowadays, so I’d love to see more upgrades like this from you. One figure I’d love to see you tackle is the recent Semi-Perfect Cell from Omnibus Amazing
Oh man..it took me an hour to finish all the resin. Just could not get it to set, and it kept trying to drip off the sides. But yeah, agreed! The pain ended up being worth it!
Great video Jon! I think you did a great job with the UV resin. I’m still new to model painting but I was wondering what you meant by the comment that you could have just clear coated it? What would the difference have been? Also, any recommendations for what to do with the gems on the Masterlise Golden Frieza? Mine came with some paint chips on the chest gem and I have already repainted it but I need something to make it match the semi gloss finish of the other gems (it doesn’t seem to be as glossy as the Full Power Frieza).
thanks! i meant there that the finish on the gems were already smooth, if i used some high gloss clear coat on them instead of the UV resin, i probably would have gotten 65-75% of the look with like 5% of the effort lol. for your golden frieza, i'm thinking that if at least the colors match from your repaint, you can just clear coat all of the other gems to get them all to match?
@@jons.hobbyroom thanks! I don’t think I appreciated the difference in effort but that makes sense. I also think I may be confused between clear coat and gloss but I will go buy the clear coat and will give it a try! I have a lot to learn 😅
@@VinceK183 ah gotcha. So the clear coat is just the literal clear coat that you would use to seal all the paint underneath. There’s different finishes to the clear coat, matte, satin/semi-gloss, and high gloss. Generally for figures i would use the matte clear coat, but for metallic finishes i would stick to a semi-gloss or high gloss finish to maintain the shine.
Ive actually wanted todo a very small custom to one of my shf vegeta figs for a while and you seem to be the perfect person to ask. What kind of paints and brushes do you use so that you cant see all the brush strokes?
Check the description for the paints and brushes I use! I think they work great. In terms of brush strokes, you should also thin your paints (also see the thinner medium I use in the description!) and paint in layers. That should minimize the brush strokes!
@jons.hobbyroom thanks. What paint would you recommend as the closest to super siayan blue? That's the only color I need so if there is one color specifically that you know is close to that shade of blue that'd be really helpful
To my eye, the closest one to the anime (which is more of a turquoise color) is this: amzn.to/3WmXo2C I would pick this up along with white to lighten it up as needed (sometimes these paints dry a little darker than expected)
I forgot to add the names of my members to the credits! Thanks so much Jay T, Jay J, and MatchesPeaches for your support!!!

“I’m super proud of how this figure turned out”. You should be man, this is incredible

That one is definitely on the list. Same issues on that fig for sure!
This guy should've been 17s voice actor in sparking zero
Nobody can beat me when I’m Super 17.
I was about to comment why was 17 was painting these figures XD
The UV resin might've been a bit of a pain, but man it looks great when it's done.

@@jons.hobbyroomi would have preferred it to be a little blue in the shadding but it looked too good to complain about it in an actual comment
👍
AWESOME!! The battle damage and resin looks so good. Thanks for including the manga panel for comparison :D
Heh..the manga panel is my favorite part too!
Absolutely stunning! Great work Jon.
YES!! That is truly 100% OVER 8000 Freiza (just all the memes)! Seriously nice work.
Jon no idea how you make it look so easy! Awesome Job!!!
Thanks! Talking through it is the easy part!
That new paint job may be my favorite one yet good job bro
Looks amazing! Tone & battle damage are sexy af, makes the regular one look plain af 😂
I MISSED HIS PREORDER BY 3 DAYS AGHHH
Oh i thought this was the figuarts 😅
This is actually amazing, it makes frieza more detailed and realistic in a way. I'd love to see a repaint of Gogeta Blue.
nah that UV resin was a right call, looks so awesome!
Love your work!
Thanks for your support! ❤
I think this is the best looking full power frieza figure even before the repainting
Sculpt-wise, definitely. The original paint lets it down
This was amazing!
You’re amazing!
The before and after is always so insane!
What a glow up! Incredible as always!
🤩
this looks so good, the before and after is unreal
Looks so much better!
Thanks as always!
I've been waiting 💯🔥👀
👀👀
Looks fantastic, the resin did seem a bit risky. I would've tried a gloss varnish instead out fear of not getting an even coating for those parts
Benefit of not knowing any better. But the way it turned out, I might risk doing it again for another form of Frieza
now...THATS A FRIEZA I WANNA SEE!!

Uv resin was a great choice
This is amazing
Very Epic Statue but I have a question I own a statue but the 2 pieces won’t come together what do I do?

Hope it turns out great!
Here we go again! Back with the stonewall gray! Lol
It’ll never leave. It is always with us.
Awesome! You should do more figuarts
Need some inspiration!

Just used a very thin paint brush and some blue paint! The paints and brushes I use are in the description
