Downtown Irish Club Parade, St. Patrick's Day 2023! New Orleans Walking Parade on St. Patrick's Day

Hello Everyone,
We hope you are doing well. Today, we are presenting a St. Patrick's Day parade that takes place on actual St. Patrick's Day! This parade is the Downtown Irish Club Walking Parade and it is so cool. Its a small parade with a focus on having the most fun while enjoying the New Orleans life while doing it. It was a fun time and we can not wait for next years St. Patrick's Day parades as well!

Celebrating our Irish heritage throughout each and every year since 1976, the Downtown Irish Club maintains that "everyone is Irish for a day", making our membership rich and diverse. We march from founders' Roy Markey, Sr. and Edward "Bud Rip" Ripoll Jr.'s iconic establishments in the Bywater to the heart of the French Quarter. We're the only parade annually on St. Patrick's Day Proper with parade stops on Frenchmen, Decatur and Tchoupitoulas! Come out and enjoy the festivities that surround St Patrick's Day. Oh fun! So, in NOLA, on St. Patrick's day you sort of do a "Mardi-Gras" version of the parade where basically the main difference is wearing green clothes and passing out green beads and trinkets? LOL So different from where I live (CA) with the Irish bands and Irish dancing! I do see some of the irish music, but mostly the jazz. All one big party in NOLA. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Hey, glad you enjoyed it. This parade was more of the "Lets get drunk and go bar hopping, throw some trinkets, and beads, while calling it a parade" Parade! The other 2 St. Pats parades on our channel are more of the Traditional type. Even then, its a whole lot of Mardi Gras and culture blending in these parades as well. In New Orleans, it is all about the Party and that is always one of a kind! Anyways, thank you for watching, and take a look a the other 2 parades!
