- Craclinkg door sound is a common problem with many Renault cars. Renault Megane 3 is no exception. The annoying sound comes when a plastic part of the check strap or door limiter wears out. In this video, we show you step-by-step how to change the door check strap/door limiter on a Renault Megane 3 from 2012. You can do it on your own at home. Just follow this example carefully and you won't damage any part of the door.

Hello, just a quick tip for everyone, i have a megane 3 grandtourer and on the passenger door i have 6 screws, not five, one more is in the door handle, i've tried for 20 minutes to remove the door panel and i couldn't figure why it won't come off, other than that great tutorial, maybe he only had 5 screws..

Great video! Can you also make a video of how to replace the conductors of the panoramic roof? In my megane mk3, the panorama roof makes the same sound when opening, and sometimes it jams

Good video, but it have one "little" exact mistake, what made the Renault mechanic to my car.
Do not remove that white cover or if you, you need a brand new one, othervise water will be leaking in your car at bigger rain, and this is 100%.
They told me, this can be repaire if you remove the sound speaker (ther are the same hole), so you will not need new white sealing :)
So thats what it was haha!
Man I had a mk3 hatch for years that make this same awful crack and I never knew what it was or really bothered to find out..
Least now I know for my current mk3 coupe!

@@BbrosAuto pozdrav druze imam lagunu 3 2007 imam problem sa radiom i navigacijom gasi se pa se sama upali pomrsi displej pa ne mogu ni da pojacam ni da smanjim desava se po dan dva da se neupali uopste bio sam kod elektricala ispitali radio koji stoji u kaseti kod suvozaca iza dvd kaze da je ok i probao je i novi softver da ubaci ali opet isto.Da se nisi slucajno susretao sa takvim problemom i sta li bi moglo biti.Hvala unapred

Very nice video! I have a problem in my Megane 3. In the same door that is making this horrible sound, the central computer of the car does not detect if the door is opened or closed. It opens and closes correctly with the key, but the car does not detect if it is opened or closed. So, when I leave my lights on or the key inside of the car, it does not make the "beep" to aware you.
Will this limiter change also solve this problem?
Unfortunately replacing the check strap won't fix that problem. There is a switch within the door locking mechanism which sends the signal wether the door is open or closed. Does it show on the display when the door is opened/closed? Sometimes it happens that the switch stays in the same position and only shows the door as open or closed no matter what position it is in.
When the door is closed, it always displays it as closed. But when it is opened, sometimes it shows the door as opened and sometimes as closed, depending on the position of the door. If I move the door a bit it changes from opened to closed or viceversa
@@Silverandco95 Display should show the door as closed only when they are fully closed, because the switch should be activated only in that position. Since this status changes as you move the door it is likely that the switch does not work properly.
@@BbrosAuto Ok, thank you so much. I will change both the door limiter (to eliminate the sound) and the locking mechanism (to make the door switch work)
Anytime. Just make sure you test out the mechanism to be sure 100% that problem is there, and maybe can be fixed so you wouldn't replace something you don't have to. Maybe it's just a bad contact somewhere. We hope you'll fix both problems successfully and let us know how it went. Good luck!

Hi, is there a way of removing the glued hinge strap screw. I've tried doing it how it's done on the video but it's so damn tough it's starting to wear out. Do you think using a blow torch heat would melt the glue a little? Thanks
Hi, unfortunately this screw can be hard to unscrew somethime. You can try to heat it, we believe it could help. Hope you will solve it.

Hello, i have the exact same problem, i've tried to unscrew it with some of the most powerful tools and it has come to a point where it's almost fully wear out, how did you manage to solve this?, thanks in advance
@@precupbogdan2384 Hey, same. Honestly I don't know why Renault did that. So, I managed to remove it by using a blow torch to heat up the screw so it weakens the glue. It was an absolute breeze after that. Give that a go.

Muku mucim sa ovim. Stavljao novi dio, potrosio se, evo kupio neki sa otpada jos gori, moracu im vratit jer je gori od ovog sto trenutno imam. Da li se moze sta improvizovati ili se bas mora novi dio uzimat? Kupio bio nov negdje i prilicno se brzo potrosio, mislim da nije ni godinu trajao sto je veoma lose. Ne planiram opet uzimat novi ako ce se tako brzo istrositi... Odakle preporucujes da narucim novi dio? Hvala
@Malique. Na našem kanalu možeš naći video o tome kako se taj dio reparira pod nazivom "How to repair door check strap - Renault". U videu smo izradili nove plastične valjčiće, a ukoliko želiš možeš umjesto plastičnih staviti i metalne koji će biti dugotrajnije rješenje. Što se tiče novog dijela ne znam ni jedan koji bih preporučio, popravak starog se pokazao kao najbolje rješenje. Nadam se da ćeš riješiti problem.

Koju vrstu plastike preporucujes za ovaj valjak.. Vidjecu da li se moze izraditi sa 3d printerom jer mi rodjak ima pa treba probati. Metalni je sigurno dugotrajniji al sam procitao da si se zalio na zvuk, da li bi se sa masti to moglo rijesiti... hvala puno
@Malique Što se tiče plastike ona koju smo mi koristili je tokarska plastika koju mi je preporučio tokar, ali koji je to točno tip plastike stvarno ne znam. Što se tiče metalnih imao sam zamjenski dio s metalnim valjcima i nisam bio zadovoljan, ali sam isto tako jednom prijatelju stavio metalne na originalni dio i to je ispalo ok. Jedina razlika u odnosu na plastične je što se sa plastičnima vrata malo lakše i finije otvaraju, ali nije to neka velika razlika. Sigurno neće škoditi ako se stavi masti između svih pomičnih dijelova.

Samo da javim da sam stavio metalne valjke. Otisao tokaru pokazao mu kaze hajd da probamo sa inoxom jer se nece proderat ko plastika...Evo maloprije stavio na vrata i predobro radi zasad. Nadati se da nece biti nuspojava.
Eto nadam se da ce kome biti koristan savjet.

Took the part off at 1:20 extremely cautiously, and still managed to break the red strap thingy. Fuck… no way to put it together now. Overall this was a 2hr mission and more difficult than it looks like. Fuses all messed up the and the plastic straps that hold the door just breake very easily

To change the speaker on the door, do I have to remove the panel as in this video? How large is the speaker to fix it?

Ciao, yes you need to remove the door panel to get to the speaker. After you remove the door panel you will see the speaker is fixed with some rivets which you need to remove somehow ( drill them or cut them ) if you want to take the speaker out. We hope you will solve your problem.

i have lost all power to my mk3 drivers door - switch won't open any windows or move the mirrors - interior light on drivers door don't come on either - checked glovebox fuse and is ok??????
My white cover from 5:40 doesn't stick to the door, not even with glue. How can I fix this?
Try with a double-sided tape.
Tried the process today. The torx bolt was damaged and I am unable to remove it. Ordered a bolt extractor set online and will try tomorrow. Until I fix this, I will have to use the passenger door to get out of my car.

@@BbrosAuto I tried a lot of different extractors. The only one that actually worked for me was the "Thinkwork Impact Bolt Extractor Set, 13+1 Pieces Nut Removal Tool". I had to cut the iron out using an electric rotary cutter, to make space around the bolt's head. Then I hammered a socket from the toolset into the bolt's head and used a long torque wrench to get it moving. Regular wrench would not move it. I guess it helped that the bolt got hot while I was cutting the iron around the bolt's head. While waiting for the tools to be delivered, I sought for professional help. Long story short, everyone refused to deal with it. The garage advised going to a body work specialist and vice versa. I even went to a tyres replacement centre thinking that they would be dealing with broken bolts all the time, but they also suggested going to a garage. This was one of the hardest DIY I have ever done, certainly when it comes to my car.

Za skidanje panela s vrata 20, osim onoga kod kvake, on je 30. Za skidanje samog limitatora 40.
Dakle, ne mogu otsrafiti taj zaljepljeni saraf. Vec sam izglodao torx. Now what?!
