Just catching up on You Tube as I have been on holiday. It is always lovely to see you on here. I have made the Montana twice and it is the perfect summer dress,so cool and breezy for a hot day.I must look at Pound fabrics as your choices are lovely. The top you have on really suits you. Good luck with your move as it can be stressful. Xxx
So nice to see you again Karen, I was getting worried and what lovely sews. Great news about you selling the house, I hope you find another that you love and have many happy years in. Busy time for you are so lucky to be moving. I would love to move but unable to at the moment but I keep wishing and looking at houses and possibilities of a nice little sewing room. I have my eye on the Style Arc pattern but have so many patterns . I picked up the Rosa dress pattern but when I did the mock up of the bodice, I have had to increase the length of the bodice as its too cropped for me! First time altering a pattern, only the length so everything else notches etc are in the same place. Love sewing and I am getting more confident and get most of my fabrics from Pound Fabrics. I haven't bought any shop clothes for two months as I look at the construction of the garments and think well I have a pattern like that, or that's not finished nicely or just too expensive! It would have to be something really really nice for me to buy shop clothes again! Take care 🤗
Aw thank you - you are so like me I have bought shop clothes but it was because they were reduced greatly in sales or just a fabric that I wouldn't consider making something out of in case I ruined it eg Satin/lace etc. I am always picking things up in shops and putting them back on the rail muttering away that the sewing is shoddy (what a cheek 🤣) We are moving over the road upsizing when all of our friends are thinking about down sizing (we are quite mad we admit it!) you take care too lovely lady 🥰xx
Glad to see you back and looking well. Congratulations on selling your house, moving is great except for the packing and unpacking. Love your makes, I'm now looking at the Montana dress for myself, very seasonal, Winter with fine merino under, take care of your lovely self, regards Diana from NZ 🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Lovely vlog Karen. Nice to see you. I love your Montana dress and the tee shirts. Best of luck moving across the road 🙏👍 Now that you mentioned a G&T earlier I may have one myself later & ‘cheers’ or send you a ‘Sláinte’ 🥂👍🥂
Aw bless you. I am best at cutting out when I am rested and if I cut out a few things together I get better with each one. If I am tired I miss notches and markings and the seams look like I've used my nana's false teeth. My new scissors have helped though. Take care lovely 🥰xx
Aww, so glad to see you back on here. I absolutely loved the dress and all the new fabrics - you just can’t beat pound fabrics. Congratulations on the house move, I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it all goes smoothly. Are you going across the road? I remember in an older vlog that you said you loved your neighbour’s house. I hope your little doggie is on the mend now. Have a good week and I hope to see you on here again soon. X
Aw thank you Melanie. Yes doggie (Millie) is back to her normal bad tempered, bossy self I'm pleased to say. Yes it is the house over the road - beyond excited! Happy sewing 🥰xx
Nice to see you Karen you have certainly been busy especially while you were away Lovely makes you certainly can’t beat Tilly and the Button Tees Congratulations on getting your house sold hope you find another house you love as much Then the packing begins which can be stressful Looking forward to seeing what you actually make with your new fabric The dress looks such a quick easy sew and comfortable to wear I’m sure we will be seeing more Take care and Happy Sewing ❤️😘
Ah hello my lovely friend. We are just moving over the road to a house exactly like ours but with an extra bedroom - aren't we mad? All of our friends are downsizing and we are going bigger but I dearly want both boys and their respective girlfriends to be able to stay with us together, although Thomas has not officially left home yet as he is in a University Campus about 10 miles from us he probably will one day so I'm just getting prepared really. I do think the dress would be a little more fiddly if you had to self line the bodice but the tutorial is really good and of course on you tube you can slow the video down. I've started clearing out already don't think we will move for another few months yet but the lady whose house we are buying is clearing out big style (she is downsizing sensible woman!) and she is putting me to shame with how much she is getting rid of - so far I've managed to clear some crockery and half a bag of old photos 🙄 Hope you find some time to sew too Lovely 🥰😘😘

Lovely to have you back. Love your makes, the Montana dress really suits you, gorgeous fabric. Off to have a look at the scissors........I'm a sucker too!😄
Lovely to see you back Karen hope you are feeling well and you doggie is better , love all your garments hope mrs mouse gets her ears soon looking forward to seeing her finished , take care , like everyone else was wondering if you are moving across the road 🤔Amanda xx
Ah thanks Amanda, yes we are all well thank you - Millie had Colitis and was really quite poorly but I am pleased to report she is back to her bossy, balshy, grumpy and noisy self! I am so keen to finish the mouse as well I have nightmares that the dogs will get to her before she is finished and I will have to start again! 😱 and yes if all goes well we are moving over the road - I am beyond excited but I know how these things can go wrong so I am desperately trying too not build my hopes up. 🥰xx
Love your vlog Karen! I too shop at Boyes, Blaydon and find them quite expensive these days. I’ve made the Montana several times and love this pattern! I always try Pound Fabrics first! x
Aw thank you Annie. Just visited Boyes at Cramlington today although I may have missed it but I don't think they had fabric at all? I've had a few bits from Pound fabrics that I haven't liked but it's usually been down to me not reading the description properly and when the fabric is so cheap the odd mistake is a bit more affordable. 🥰xx
Aw thank you Dawn. Always intend to come back and STAY back but it never seems to work that way - blinkin' life just interrupts the sewing too much!! 🤣🥰xx
Loving your Montanas. I always line my bodices in light cotton voile and use the Burrito method. I find it less fiddly than binding. Great to see you back and congrats on selling the house. 😊. Happy sewing. Lynne
It was a pattern on my list for a few months at least - keep an eye out for special offers - I think I saved about £8-10 by buying the add-on pack and the discount on Amazon (so that's me justified in buying another pattern if anyone asks!!!). Happy sewing 🥰xx
Aw thank you Elizabeth, I'm absolutely fine. If anything I'm a bit over excited about the forthcoming move but trying to keep calm as I know from experience how quickly things can go wrong with a house move 😁🥰xx
good to see you again the last time I saw you I love that fabric and managed to get some and made the Milender dress and it looks lovely ,so thanks for that ,I’ve made the Montana dress in plain fabric but now you’ve set me off and I love your one so I’m off again , oh dear I can’t help myself xx
Aw bless you but I've decided fabric buying is a second hobby adjacent to sewing it's just that the two hobbies need each other to function!!! Anyway right back at ya' I've just seen the Milenda dress Tessuti? and it's in a basked! 😏🥰xx
Hi Karen, So nice to see you again. Well done on selling your home. Are you still planning on buying the house over the road from your current address or are you moving further afield?
Good to see you back and some lovely makes. I'm just about to start on the Montana dress and the blue flower fabric I've just made into a Donny shirt so we must have similar tastes 😊
It was a quick sew - even for lil' ol' me! Having said that it is Sunday evening and I still haven't hemmed it so it's not technically finished yet.....🤔🥰xx
Lovely to hear from you Karen … missed you again in Seahouses!! We’re back up July 7th I think 🤔…. I’ve lost my sewjo a bit 😢been busy with life I guess!! And this puppy 😂…. I took sewing up to the caravan as well and forgot the interfacing 😩 …. Love the dress pattern ❤…may invest in the one … they are such a price aren’t they?? Keep up the good work and good luck with the trousers xx
Hi Janet and thank you. We will probably miss each other again as I am back in Seahouses from the 29th ish to the 6th. Your pup is soooo cute - a very good distraction! I can see why you've lost your Sewjo pups will do that to you! Hope we get some good weather - this summer is just .... well it's not is it? 🥰xx
Thank you Linda and yes it over the road we go! So excited! Will be in touch soon about a coffee and I need to pick your sewing brain! Take care lovely 🥰xx
Love the Montana and the extension pack!❤ I've made numerous variations and no one realises it's the same dress! 😅 Very cool and comfy in summer! You didn't mention what your moving plans are!! Across the road? ☺️
Karen I can't understand what you are saying when you say you were in sa..... houses? What is that are you saying state houses or safe houses? Well anyway I was wondering where you went it seems like ages since I have seen you here. Welcome back. Oh I adore that hoodie you are wearing.
Karen!!! So pleased you’re back. Hope you’re ok love? Love the Montana dress 👗 I’ve wanted to make it for ages but was always put off by stories of poor instructions. How did you find them? Xx
Ah thank you Dawn. Yes Style Arc are a bit sparse but I was pleased I googled the pattern tutorial and I did follow the TATB instructions for the in seam pockets where you just sew down from the waist band around the pocket and then continue down the side seam - much easier. I will do a recap on my next vlog and try and put in the links to the vlogs I used if you like? 🥰xx
You are delightful to watch because you are natural and real😉
Beautiful fabric choices 😊
Thank you 🥰xx
