While I was chatting with him, he was visibly high , he reached into his pocket, brought out a shot of E& J brandy, and gulped it down.He was looking just the way h is now, with most of his front teeth missing. He was a complete mess. He was not even coherent in his speech. Then I met some white guy who knew him very well, that told me almost 8 years ago that Majek Fashek was doing drugs. That he had been taken to the rehab in New York a couple of times, but after he was discharged, he went back to drugs .Drugs and alcoholism destroyed Majek Fasek to the extent that he could no longer sing.
