Resurrection Joy at Evangelismos in Philadelphia

The Evangelismos of Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Philadelphia celebrated the Holy and Great Saturday/Midnight Service commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on May 4th. The festal celebration of the Resurrection was filled with age-old Byzantine hymns and prayers of Pascha accompanied by ringing bells, banners, and fragrant incense. The celebrations continued onto Sunday with traditional Greek Paschal customs and foods.
