I’m a relatively experienced player and I still get so much out of these tips because of the simple way Jack looks at them. It’s a good reminder that not everything has to be thought of in theory terms and sometimes it’s good to just rely on simple shapes and patterns that you know sound great

I just love the way you break things down for your audience to absorb. I’m getting back into playing keyboards after 50 years and I’m picking up all kinds of great stuff from your videos. Back in the late 60’s and early 70’s I played a Farfisa combo compact deluxe through a ‘68 Fender Bassman with two cabinets. The keyboard technology is so amazing now. Last summer I picked up a used Yamaha YPT 220 for $100 to see what it sounded like through an amp. That got me looking for what was the next step up and found your great equipment reviews on the Anderton’s site. After comparing endless reviews over the past two months, I just ordered a Nord Electro 6D and am looking forward to learning to make some of the great sounds I’m seeing on the demos. Your playing style and energetic presentation are an inspiration to an old fart like me. Tell Nord they owe you a new Stage 4 for selling so many keyboards for them. Keep up the great videos!

Jack, you're killing me. I've been watching you review synths & keyboards and having a jolly then you go and start a series where we discover you are not only a great player of instruments, you are THE best instructor. Simple, to the point, witty yet informative. I've tried learning piano chords, play around with 3 & 4 voice synthesizers now you do this and now I need either a better keyboard (that Casio looks & sounds great btw), or plumb for the Deepmind 12. Either way my wife is going to pull her hair out yet again. :-)

I am a guitarist who has recently decided to take up piano for fun (you know ... lockdown and all ... needed new toys to keep me busy). Your teaching style fits very well with how I learned guitar ... just play what sounds good ... having said that, I learned that by kind people giving me hints as to what notes would sound good together. The next lesson sounds fantastic.

I'm loving these lessons!! I've been playing around with the sus2 chord shape and trying to play it in different keys with the squib (on the Juno I bought from Andertons :-)), I really love that sound. Please keep making these lessons, they're awesome!!!
Need some left hand tricks now.... My right is pretty decent - but my left.... I either plat route notes, route octaves, octaves plus 5ths - or triads with left hand (mirroring right or under a melody). Left hand walks, or counter chords etc... not a clue.
This series is so good, love Jack's style and approach to this. Even for non beginners its an interesting look at playing styles. Thanks so much. Now I know why so many piano songs are written in the key of C. It's much easier to play in.
