    Oh heck yes this is the exact video I needed. A lot of the case types/product you showed are stuff they haven't given me yet like those 25/50lb. sacks of carrots, wooden boxes, those waxy Asparagus boxes and such.
    I'm currently only certified on their Crown PE4500 which is basically the jack you used in your example but single pallet. I drive right handed and am trying to learn left hand and walk along technique. While it's slow for me now I know overtime it'll help remove how much I walk around my pallets when building. Some long time employees said that my number would go way up once I start using the type selector jack where you stand in it. Crown PC450 again single pallet. Though that'll be a whole new learning curve. Those jacks are probably the one type of warehouse equipment I don't have any experience with.

    I just started at Sysco about 3 months ago along with my coworker. We’re both stuck at 70%-80% a night. Our supervisors have given us sloppy training but we’ve managed to thrive off of our other coworkers tips. Everything seems to hold us back, it takes so much effort to run a bill at 100%, I feel like we’re doing something wrong but we haven’t been able to figure it out.

    Is there any advice you can give to keeping your warehouse selectors happy in this hard time of finding workers

    • @TheWarehouseSeries
      @TheWarehouseSeries  3 года назад +7

      I take it you're a boss. That is such a good question. It's hard to do right now because of a shortage on workers. Our company forces overtime daily and guys are getting sick of it and quitting. I personally think one thing companies should do is take a long look at the way they spread their workforce over 3 shifts. If one shift is finishing their work early and another is not, common sense would say the other shift needs more workers. I think all weekend overtime should be double time and the big one is.... If you have a good employee don't have the thought process of I can get more work out of him. Compliment his good work and more than likely he will go out of his way for you. It use to be like at our work now it's just how much work can I get him to do since 50% of my employees don't know the job.
