I love your videos, as a builder here in New Zealand building multi story apartment blocks, I've now got my team and now my bosses watching your videos and i can tell you have made us check and recheck every trade that comes though our doors, your videos helped us identify red flags pertaining to trades giving us fake paperwork and insurance paperwork, some of the paperwork filed to us was so good some of our government's departments had to do a double take when checking them as they all had the right stamps and signatures, we now have such a robust team of 6 setting standards above and beyond what we would normality do, and we now offer this service to other companies here; which helps off set our fixed costs.

Problem is that the actual registered builder will never set foot on site and relies upon often unqualified supervisors and trades to do the work. MBA used to recommend that at key points like waterproofing roofing plumbing that they attend and makes sure that these key items are done as per plans and standards as I can assure you most trades do not know what the standard is as they have always "done it this way" .

It would have been a 5 year dance of lawyers and insurance companies all denying there was anything wrong. Seriously the builder should not have a licence. People who cause these sorts of problems should also have to pay a penalty remediation levy to account for the environmental and resource damage caused.

There doesn't appear to be enough space for pod and pavers so it will need to be direct stick tiles to add to the FFL. :S
Unfortunately i have seen a 100mm not often high enough if the builder chooses the classic sand and cements screed and more than 2m to a waste .

Apparently the crew learned their trades in China, they are using construction techniques from China with materials from China and even instructions on the wall in Chinese. What would you expect? Does the foreman even read enough English to be familiar with the complex Australian building code regulations for bathroom waterproofing or roofing? For an Aussie tiler who has grown up with Aussie standards the waterproofing would be second nature, but certainly not for recent immigrants who still communicate in Chinese on the site. Same for roofing or any other trade. I hope the plumbing has not been done by Chinese plumbers, as in my experience, China has some of the worst plumbing in the world. Homes or condos that fall apart after a few years are called Tofu-dreg in China and are all too common.
