frank graves i've seen them live 3 times. only once did he sound rough, and that was on their second warped tour run. in my experience, he's usually really good live, but this was rough
i think he sounds great. it makes it more raw and real to me, but i can see where youre coming from. singing live is definitely a challenge for anyone, and i think it's something that has been more of a challenge for him. you have to take in consideration the sound setup isn't always perfect live and can make singing live problematic, not to mention having to find your pitch on the *spot* isn't always easy. even with a lot of practice it can be hard to find the exact right key on a whim when you have all those nerves, distractions, and everything else, whereas in a recording studio you can have as many takes as you want and ad alterations and pitch corrections in the editing booth. i see what you mean but you have to put yourself in his shoes. singing live is not easy and i personally think he's doing great. i appreciate some raw realness personally. does that mean there isn't room for improvement? of course there is! always room for improvement. that's all i'm saying.
