  • Does Copilot in Excel deliver according to the expectation, especially comparing against Microsoft's announcement demo 10 months ago? I conducted this comparison prompt by prompt to show you the reality. At the end, I also shared what I think the reason is that Copilot in Excel is performing at the level it is now.

Thank you for recording this video.
I've been interested in CoPilot in Excel since they first announced it for Office, but from your test it seems like it will need more time to be helpful to me.

Thank you. I'm glad this video helped. I agree it will need more time. I'm also interested in finding out once Copilot in Excel is off from the Preview status, how much it can do. I do believe it will do more than ChatGPT Data Analysis plug-in does, but how much more? That's what I'm going to find out at that time.

Export the Quantum, Chat GPT, Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Inventor, ENGI file of the Building or Refinery to Excel, prepare Budget 1 and export it to COBRA. Prepare Budget 2 and export it to Microsoft Project. Solve the problems of Overallocated Resources, Planning Problems, prepare the Budget 3 with which the construction of the Building or the Refinery is going to be quoted.

I haven’t tried Copilot for M365 yet, but Copilot in Edge and Copilot in Windows hallucinate way too frequently. Having to manually verify the responses usually completely negate any advantage the services provide. I’m not impressed. But yeah, one day it’ll be worthwhile. Currently, it’s essentially a paid beta product.

That's very true. Copilot is at very early infant stage. While it's not reliable for factual information, it is very helpful for generating innovative ideas and perspectives that an individual may not have the creativity to come up with. Overall, it's really like a small baby - rich in imagination and unable to discern the boundaries between the realms of reality and dreams.

    为啥我Excel home没有copilot

The reason that Copilot does not appear on your Excel application Home tab, is most likely you (your organization) have not purchased the subscription for Copilot. I have a video talking about in which countries Copilot is available, and what prerequisite subscription you need to have (depending on for individual or business), how to purchase, how to activate Copilot after purchase. It’s basically just a beta product they charge 30 AUD a month.

It's not useful in Excel yet. The $30 AUD a month also gives you Copilot in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, which are more beneficial, as outputs from those programs typically are not subject to strict objective right and wrong criteria.
