I appreciate having this well-made history of Benitoite and the Dallas Mine made available on RUclips. It's a shame that more workable veins of Benitoite were not found. It's a very attractive stone.
I was able to both day and night prospect there , I think in the mid-90's . if I remember correctly Bill Gray owned it at that time . it was right before they closed the area because of the open pit mining of asbestos . excellent place to hunt feral pigs . thanks for the upload
actually it is Uniaxial + ; Double Refractive.... just as he says...all the information i have read says so...so James ...looks like you don't know what your talking about Great story! and documentary... makes me wanna find that vein ...
