Planting potatoes in grow bags is a great way for beginners to grow their favourite varieties at home.
We look at a Dig Free method of how to grow potatoes in containers such as bags or sacks.
You can make your own potato grow bags and this is a very easy way to grow potatoes using Biodegradable Hessian Sacks or Burlap Bags which are the best option and often you can get these for no or little cost.
Generally 4 - 6 potatoes in a bag is enough and with topping up the soil you can get a large number of potatoes from each grow bag.
Growing in bags is an excellent ' no dig ' method, it is space saving and in a warm sunny position you are sure to great a great harvest.

I don't have hessian bags but o have potting mix bags that I could use to grow potaoes in. Great video.
Coffee bags are good because they rot out at the bottom and this makes harvesting really easy.
Often Coffee Roasters will give you the hessian bags for free...Worth asking at your local coffee roasters.
However - Use what you can use. We have also grown these in 1/2 44gallon drum. Just make sure you have holes in the potting mix bags for drainage.
