I guess that is John Mayer talking and singing. I read an article about him in Rolling Stone where he was apologizing for some comments that he made that people want to upset themselves about. Damn political correctness. Anyway, since John Mayer is considered to be such a young "pretty boy" I certainly expected the guy to have a much softer voice. The truth is I thought he sounded a bit like Clapton when he started the vocal, and I even hear the guy sounding a little like J. J. Cale. I'm surprised the guy has such a deep and low voice. That said, I'm not crazy about his voice but I am surprised it is so low.
He's had a vocal surgery, and couldn't sing for quite a few months to recover so his voice has changed in that time and apparently will now always be a little different to what it was.
bdhere1 his voice is still the same, he sings different, it has nothing to do with the surgery. the way he sang in his erlier records was different than born and raise. he said that in an interview.
way to fast. This is one of my fav clapton songs and this just doesnt do the song justice. Nice try. slow it down so it can be as beautiful as you stated.
thank you so much for uploading this! been desperate to hear this cover again since the concert!
Great recording of the performance, please keep this up :)
Amazing Cover
this is great! thanks for posting
I heard another version by John Mayer of this song. Both have extended solos at the end,and both are excellent!
