We were just in York this weekend and I'd recommend a ghost walk. Only £9 booked through trip advisor. Lincoln is a beautiful city with films such as da vinci code filmed at the cathedral. Have a great trip
Hey, welcome to dear old blighty. The weather is changeable this week. We had warm weather last week. But hopefully dry weather for you. Great to see you made it. A Ripper tour is well worth it as you're in Shoreditch. You're not too far from the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London. Covent Garden is worth a stop at on your way to Trafalgar Square and Buck House (Buckingham Palace). Then Pall Mall to St James palace and up onto Hyde Park and Oxford St.
Whatever else you do, do not miss a visit to York! Wander round the old city walls for great views and visit York Minster (probably the most beautiful church in England). It doesn't really matter where you go because you'll always find something wonderful/old/amazing/weird. Quite often, all three. Top tips, wear comfy shoes and ignore the rain. Best wishes and ENJOY................................the ancient Englishman.

Best museums here are the steam museum, the science museum, Birmingham museum and art gallery, gas street in Birmingham you can go on canal trips, Birmingham botanical gardens my brother Wayne is the head Gardner there if you ask for him he might give you free tickets you two to get in??other good places in UK are Severn valley steam railway you'd love it there for sure you can ride on certain days there the old steam trains which goes past west midlands Safari park can see the animals going past we saw while we was on the steam train we saw the elephants walking past in a line with tree logs xxx
You should try the fish and chips in Hastings (fresh fish) a very nice coastal town with history (1066) and a castle on top of the cliff with nice views of the town below. It's near Battle and Rye (Rye is another very nice town not far from Camber sands). There's a good train service from London (direct).
Not sure if your still here but if you are a very much recommended visit near to London is Hever Castle in Kent. Childhood home of Anne Boleyn and probably one of the best olde English buildings in the country. Plus you have more or less free access to wander where you want. Its an amazing place.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Kent, but our friends live there, so hopefully we'll be able to visit next time.

Glad you had a good flight! You stayed in my old Manor! 🤗 We lived in Shoreditch and My nan in Hackney. Shoreditch and Hoxton is the most up and coming trendy area of London right now. Literally there used to be just one pub in Shoreditch called the Blue last. No restaurants or bars. Now there are tonnes. A stones throw away in Brick Lane is a place called the Beigel Bake. The best salt beef bagels in England. They're open 24 hrs and even at 2am there's a massive queue. It's an institution! About a mile away is one of the best pie, Mash and liquor shops. It's a Cockney delicacy! And almost a few doors away is a cafe called E. Pellicci. One of the most popular in London. And nearby were Londons most notorious gangsters in the 60's called the Kray Twins! Skin on the fish is normal here with the fish and chips. And in all honesty I like the skin and batter better than the fish! Any how, love the vlog. And hope that you got to meet some of my type - the Cockneys!
Never using a bathroom on a plane is wild! You need to go on some super long haul flights and get over that :) Word of warning though, on 18 hour+ flights the bathrooms get pretty nasty
If you are planning to visit Stonehenge don't bother, I live nearby and it's so overrated and expensive to get in, you can see the stones from the A303 that runs alongside the site.
Your husband looked upset leaving the dog aww was sweet moment. I love seeing out of a plane probably because I've never been on one sad I know. Love pasta. Mac& cheese 🙏🏻. Soooo good. Them stairs took you out 🤣
Did you guys like your trap? I was thinking about going myself by myself. Obviously my mother does not have a passport and I was thinking about getting my passport and going to London train by myself. What do you guys suggest? I am from Columbus Indiana and I would have to take Indianapolis international airport, and then it would take me to somewhere else and then I would take me to London or how does that work?
Hi! Really enjoyed your vlog! May I ask what the covid requirements were before and after your flight to UK? Did the airline require proof of vaccination before boarding and/or negative test (how many days before the flight)? And when you arrived in UK, did you have to get tested again and did they require proof of vaccination? Lastly, for your flight back to the US, did they require proof of vaccination or just a negative test? Sorry I have so many questions! I am planning on vacationing in the UK soon, and I just want to be prepared. Thank you very much!
The UK ended COVID restrictions, but things can change again at the last minute. If you are traveling check the UK government website before you leave and your airline to see what their requirements are.
When we travelled to the UK in March, we did not have to provide proof of vaccination or any COVID tests before or after we left for London. For our flight back to the US, we had to provide a negative COVID test within 1 day of travel and proof of vaccination. However I know that some of the US mandates changed only a day or two after we got back, so I would recommend checking both the UK and US government websites for current requirements for each country.
