- Hey guys! So this week I am so happy to be in Ballycastle in Ireland, for my first ever stage at Ursa Minor Bakehouse. They are an independent bakery using the best quality locally sourced ingredients to create beautiful baked goods for their local community. I also explore the local area, and make a spag bol. How did you go about getting the stage? What did you say when you reached out? I'm interested in doing this but having troubles finding someone who will take me in!
just enquired to see if work experience was a possibility, as really admired their businesses and wanted to learn! Just a simple question and reaching out :)
Find the place you want to intern. Kill them with kindness-polite not creepy - learn names of staff- and be persistent. Good Luck!!!!
Also.. many bakeries offer classes..do they sell at farmers markets? If you don’t want to do full on chef school -check out adult classes. All opportunities not only to learn but to network-to get to know the baker community in your area!
