One restaurant a lot of people aren't familiar with is the Cafe Alcazar which in the lower level of the Lightner Museum. Excellent food and is often not crowded.
The Catholic mission grounds just north of town! It is incredible! (I have been going to St. Augustine since I was 18 - now getting ready to get Medicare!) We have also done some of the "behind the scenes" tours of the hotel Alcazar, which was pretty cool! The tour of the college is also quite interesting. There is SO much here, and most of the tourists miss it!
Another great vlog, Chad! My favorite city!! ;) The blue hen & Sarbez are the best! yum!! We discovered the Greek Orthodox inside on our last trek, beautiful place!! That Glow lamp place, I must of passed this place the last 15 years and never been -yet, cool place, I ll be sure to check it out on our upcoming trek!! Next time you're in Lincolnville be sure to check out the Cultural Center, we were given the tour and it was the History of Lincolnville, and it was one of the best Tours of History in the City we've done in over 25 years. Thank you so much for showing us all these wonderful places. Your vlogs are the Best!! ;)
We love your videos! My boys know you by name when I turn on a Florida video to watch. Helps us get thru the winters so we can plan our next vacation. Your videos are amazing and very informative…. We used to live in Florida and miss it dearly! Keep the videos coming!
I'd like to suggest you add Dog Rose Brewery (77 Bridge St). Excellent beers of their own making with 2 dart boards and 2 full size shuffleboard tables inside.
I was just telling my wife "if he doesn't mention Lincolnville and the Lincolnville Museum I gotta recommend it" - we've just visited it and made a little Vlog about it last May on one of our many trips to St. Augustine. Well a second later you mentioned it. But there are more things I would recommend to try out, if you haven't already done so. For one there is Hazel's Hot Dogs, North Ponce de Leon Blvd / US 1, and I would also like to mention the Fountain of Juice just opposite the entrance of the Fountain of Youth Park. They serve some great Cuban coffee there. We also always enjoy The Magic Show at Theatre Magic. They have some great magicians that do amazingly funny shows for a really fair price. Would love to see some of these in one of your next videos about St. Augustine. We are looking forward to visit this beautiful city again this April even if it's only for one day this time. Maybe we drop into each other there at some point. We are publishing the biggest German guidebook about Walt Disney World but we've often recommend your channel to our users in our forums or on Facebook if they want to see some of the many hidden gems of Florida outside of the theme park bubble.
I do not disagree with you on your description of the towns. I just wish they did not exist. As a native Floridian, I remember driving on the beaches on 30a and serf fish. We used to camp on Marco Island, no home and no traffic. All I can hope is that insurance companies either dump these people or their rate goes up so high, they move back to their state. .
I live here, I like your videos Chad , I share them often , let me know if you would like to do one on the music open mike nights , there is one every night of the week , I can help you with information, thanks keep up the great work.
@@ChadGallivanter thanks Chad, I have lived here for around 30 years now , no one has done anything with your quality on the music seen, there are open mics in this town every day full of all kinds of people playing all stiles of music. It would help travelers to find these places when they come to visit. Thank you Morgan Green
There is no local culture. The descendants of the original Minorcan and British settlers can't afford to live in the downtown area now. Others were forced to sell off portions or all of the family's land grants.
I love St Augustine!! This is my favorite vacation town, and my happy place!!! I love it there!!!
Me too!!
I just discovered it. I was there last week. You are right, it is a great place.

We’ve included the Mission in other videos before, but you’re right, the grounds and Great Cross are beautiful. Thank you for watching and commenting!

We noticed that the last time we were there.
As a local born and raised, most of these places are Overrated us locals don't go there ever
Another great and informative video of St Augustine. Thank you Chad.
So much to see and do! St. Photios Shrine is gorgeous. That grilled cheese looked delicious. Cheers
Thanks Helga!
