I mean so far it’s at the very least including elements of ARGs/viral marketing campaigns due to it being so intractable with lots of hidden elements. I’m not sure where the line is between it still counting as an ARG or not but it does seem to still work similarly to one so far
For the record I’d still respect if the creator were to say no don’t call it that, I just mean it’s similar enough so far that it might not really hurt to call it one

My favorite take I've seen on the audio of Wally singing is that the banging in response is actually Home responding to him, since Home can't talk, except for making sounds. That's why Wally says "That's good...I think." He doesn't fully understand what Home is trying to say. Makes me think of a scenario where Wally and Home are the only ones left on the set, maybe waiting years for the crew to come back, but they never do, so he's left to sit in his house and try to communicate with it, because it's the only other thing with sentience like him. Maybe that's why it looks like Wally's worshipping Home. He's idolizing the only other thing that he can interact with. And a living house honestly sounds like the kinda thing you'd have to give sacrifices to to keep it appeased, but I don't know if Home is really a villain or victim. But that's all purely the vibe I get from it, though, and may not be right. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
One thing I was hoping you'd bring up was how Wally eats with his eye's, which was mentioned in a tumbler post, at first its cool until think about how he's always staring at the viewer

There's a very...opaquely religious flavor, to what we've seen so far. The almost cloyingly family-friendly facade hiding something darker, the manic overemphasis on love and being cheerful at all costs. Hell, look at the specific posture Wally is kneeling in--he's fucking praying! At an altar! An altar of an all-seeing monster that has him trapped and is watching him and others at all times. The creator even specifically warned that eyes and being watched will be recurring themes. Like how children are told God is always watching to make sure they don't sin. And then add in what you said about the shopkeeper guy,--is it possible Wally and his friends are being abused by clergy members?
It could be kneeling/praying, but also be *begging* which… could also fit the religious theme ig? But Clown themselves has said there aren’t really a lot of religious themes in the series (at least not anymore- old concept art from 2018-2020 has some prominent religious stuff, especially with Wally’s cross cufflinks and Baphomet pose, but these aren’t canon anymore!)
I did a bit of research and found that despite a lot of people saying both this and that Clown was doxxed, neither of them are true oddly enough. As it currently stands (as I understand it) multiple voice actors were recently hired for Welcome Home content and they have been referring to it as an ARG too, plus the way the media works is consistent with the definition of an arg (I think?) As someone who has always been obsessed with puppet shows, and welcome home is the perfect thing for me to hyperfixate about, and I immediatly clicked when I saw you posted (9 hours later, I know). Keep making video’s man, you’re very neat :)
One show made with puppets had an episode that left me traumatized, it was called, "Wimzie's House" and basically had a cast of puppet children friends that would come hang out at the house of the main character, Wimzie, who lived with her grandmother. The episode that traumatized me was the one where her grandmother was overwhelmed with the kids, and so decided to leave a fake version of herself behind and go out for the day. So there is this fake grandmother puppet.. just sitting there on the couch.. with the puppet children wondering why she wouldn't respond to them. I didn't understand how they didn't think she was dead. It took me weeks to get the vision of this "dead" puppet out of my mind every time I closed my eyes. And to this day, I still think about it sometimes, and still wonder why they thought it was a good idea to do this lol. I've searched for the episode but can't find it. If someone can help me find it, you'd be considered The Best Ever™️ and I will send you a plaque that says so.

Where whenever he gets upset (probably every episode) his head would spring up and spin as he yells about something. As an example I will now Wright a fanmade script for a segment Frank knocks on the door of Home Wally opens the door Wally says "Oh hello Frank! How are you today?" Frank replies "terrible. Absolutely terable" Wally asks why and Frank replies with a generic problem he might have. Wally tries to paint a picture for Frank but accidentally spills the paint on frank. Frank's head springs up and spins as he shouts "WALLY! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! YOU RUINED MY GOOD SHIRT!" Wally then trys to apologize but Frank leaves in a rage before he can speak. **His head will reattach after he exits the set** The rest of the episode would be about raising money to buy frank a new shirt So what do you think of my interpretation? If the people who made the ARG want to hire me for script writing I'm in! Making a real show out of this would be popular for sure.
I've always loved kid shows from the Muppets era so this series has me in a chokehold. And another thing, I love saying "it's like having toothache all over his body" as you just STARE into the camera, has me rolling

puppets always scared me so bad as a child in denmark, (i’m not sure if it was shown in other countries as well), we had a show called karius and baktus, basically two characters living inside the teeth of someone eating too much candy, using pickaxes etc. to make the cavities. my siblings thought it was funny, but my fear convinced my mom of throwing away the tape recording

Best Welcome Home video I've seen so far as in keeping me informed AND engaged. I've watched tons and I usually start spacing out pretty quickly and I have to rewind but you really kept my attention and made me laugh!
It took all of my strength to not instantly click on this video as soon as I saw my very own brand new obsession character in the thumbnail. You do not understand the depths of which my brain had to reach in order to not scream over a picture of my brand new husband showing up in my feed instantly. If it were not for forcing myself to do other things, and calm myself down, I'm pretty sure I would clicked on it without even reading the title. Good video, I enjoyed it, keep it up. Now I feel old. I watched the Alice Cooper episode during its first run. I loved how Alice turned Miss Piggy into a monster. And the big reveal - the bill for all of that F/X work. School's Out was awesome at that age.

If welcome home be turned into an animated series, it should be made by Jim Henson productions and I say that this version of welcome home should have absolutely NOTHING to do with all those stuff that would traumatize the kids.
It took me about 5 years and lots of pushing from my friends to finally start publishing my web comic, worried that it would flop or I'd lose interest quick, but thankfully only a year and a half later, it is at half a k followers and I'm still very much excited to draw and write it. So yes, 100% I agree with you at the end! Just get started, it doesn't have to be studio quality
the naming of the image, yknow the one, "so below" is very interesting to me because "as above, so below" is often used to refer to it will be on earth as it is on heaven or wtv, but im pretty sure the creator, Clown, said that they completely discarded the idea of religion playing a part in the storyline.

(Apologies if this was noted in the video, haven't fully watched it yet, buuut) Welcome Home actually has LGBTQ+ themes canonically tied into it! They aren't prominent yet as far as I'm aware, but in art that I've seen from the creator, Poppy is canonically trans, Julie is canonically bi, and Frank is canonically gay! So I would not be surprised if Barnaby is canonically bi or LGBTQ+ in some way.

It took all of my strength to not instantly click on this video as soon as I saw my very own brand new obsession character in the thumbnail. You do not understand the depths of which my brain had to reach in order to not scream over a picture of my brand new husband showing up in my feed instantly.

1:34 haven't gotten far in the vid yet, but as soon as you mentioned the episode of the Muppet Show with Alice Cooper i got so excited because that was one of my absolute favourite pieces of media as a kid for some reason. i think it was like baby's first experience with any sort of spooky/alternative media in a way i found weirdly aspirational.

So I would not be surprised if Barnaby is canonically bi or LGBTQ+ in some way.
