Excuse me. I lived in Syracuse NY most of my life. You have an error. It is not Fairmount Putt Putt. It is called Fairmount GLEN MINIATURE Golf Couse. NEVER say it is Putt Putt because that was entirely different mini golf company. If is like you calling a McDonald's Burger King. Can't do that. There was a case a local organization used the name Putt Putt outing at a mini golf course and Putt Putt Inc send a cease and decset warning to change the name. So you dont know jack about this. The actual Putt Putt was on Erie Boulevard East behind McDonald's until the owner changed name to Putter Paradise then closed for good. Look up on your internet for Fairmount Glen ok? It is one of the FIRST mini holf LONG before Don Clayton founded Putt Putt golf. Thank you!
Me and a bunch of friends were doing a road trip from Toronto to NYC(i lived there in 2018 when i did this and we were coming back) we stopped here. It was soooo walkable and cool. I really liked this city. Dont think i could live there.
Ok now let's be honest about Syracuse NY I grew up there from 6 yrs old so I saw what Syracuse Used to Be, mind you I'm not knocking it I'm just being Honest about it. On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being the highest) I will give it a 3..now the reason is because Syracuse NEVER kept up with the times, the Things that are still there are LEFT OVER from what USED to be There What happened to the beautiful Movie Theaters ? There is only 1 left it WAS the LOWES State Theater it USED TO show Double and Triple Features with Shorts and Cartoons in between. What happened to the Big Beautiful Department Stores ?? Dey bros ..Sibley's..Addis.. Economy Bookstore..Paper Poppy ..ect.. Syracuse is Nothing even Close to what it used to be..they Used to have a JAZZ festival it was 7 Days long what happened to it ? Now it's down to 1 - 2 days ?? Look at what Used to be the Carousel Mall, it was a nice place to shop they had Great Stores like Macy's, Filenes Basement..Leachmere.. Borders Books and music ..Milarkys Restaurant.. Kahunaville Restaurant..but what happened ?? They over charged them for Space so a lot of them left ..Now they call it Destiny Mall and Most of the Spaces are empty the kids say it's not even worth going to. Where is the Children's Museum ?? That same old dusty EVERSON museum is still there and it has Never Changed Does anyone Remember the ELEPHANT 🐘 that Used to be out back ?? Nothing for families to do there. That's why the people that graduate SU leave and go live somewhere else. The main problem is, Syracuse is in the Middle of Nowhere there is no attractions close by, no family stuff..the Fingerlakes Region is at least a Hours drive from downtown ( Skaneatlas lake ..Owasco Lake..) no amusement parks. BUT look at ROCHESTER NY ..they have almost Everything for Families LOOK at the Strong Museum Of Play ..They have their own Amusement Park called Seabreeze..right on the Big Beautiful lake Ontario..they have Family activities and events ALL summer long. I'm not down on Syracuse but they have to do something to keep up with the times ..the ONLY thing holding Syracuse Up is SU period. If SU was not there it would be a ghost town
How long has it been since you have been here? Maybe not specifically Syracuse but CNY definitely has a ton of things to do. Plus it's a short drive to take great day trips. Ithaca gorges, the wine trail, Adirondacks and even NYC. My favorite time of year is fall and all the apple orchards, pumpkin picking, festivals and haunted attractions. There's free outdoor concerts all summer great parks and beaches and free splash pads and playgrounds in several places. Camping, fishing, boating. Beaver Lake, Sylvan Beach. And great restaurants. Heid's, Rudy's,and Dinosaur BBQ to name a few. I could go on and on. ☺
The captioning said Greedy Building. I am deaf. It is GRIDLEY Building. Sounds like this Grid ley. Btw. I am direct family member of the Gridley Family on my mom's side. It was Salt Spring National Bank. Yes we were one of the US paper money printing shop for the US government for a time. 3 banks as you saw many photos or you took some. They all worked together to make transactions and to keep warm and for security reasons we had tunnels between banks deep below the canal so we can walk UNDER the canal to do business with banks. Gridley Building is a registered landmark. Several buildings are! The white "hot dog" is a coney. Hoffman's Snapper as it is called. Try them a Heids byOld Liverpool Road in the village of Liverpool NY. 2 or 3 blocks is Limp Lizard. A popular BBQ restaurant I think is better than Dinosaur BBQ and most recommend that now. The difference for both is they do not have buffets like other BBQ restaurants in South Carolina where I reside now. Heids is beautiful Art Deco diner look actually built in 1930s. Green lake State Park is actually green! Very deep. Many Italian restaurants really. Si. Oh important you should have added Coleman's bar and restaurant in Tipperyhill in west side of Syracuse with the upside down clock with green on top and red bottom which has to do with the Irish. Lot of Irish living that area. Little Italy downtown... and many more!
Thanks for the history. You made an error you called the traffic light a clock. Do you remember Switz's? That was my favorite store when I was growing up. Not sure your age. I'm 51.
You left out that we like being near Lake Ontariom and the most important attraction, The Great New York State Fair and all the other special events when the fair is nor active. Thanks.
Why would you tout Pastabilities and not the famous Dinosaur Barbeque?

Lake Ontario.
Left the town 20 yrs ago. Everything remains exactly the same when I was there.
The university area and downtown are actually very different now
THE WEATHER ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.
THE CITY IS DIRTY
CRIME IS BAD
You finally left the city with your bitterness. If it is dirty, make a difference and start doing something.
And 100 reasons syracuse sucks.
Yikes! I think I saw a video for that. Thank you for watching!
It's either grey, cold, rainy, and/or snowy 7-8 months out of the year
Think you're exaggerating a little. You seem fun.
