The guy that played Twister died 1/14/15 from a drug overdose. His real name was Darren Shahlavi. Sad to see him go like that. He was a good actor.

outside of what other people have mentioned wing chun is useless without all its pieces of defense incorporated this includes kicks elbows for offense and defense and sometimes even knee's depending on the stance and form similar to a boxer like may-weather shoulder rolling punches to divert all the power it makes it fair this was a chinese martial arts vs western boxing match if they both boxed especially with gloves that would be completely unfair since he doesnt know how to box not donny obviously but ip man didnt box

Darren Shahlavi did a great job playing this horrible cheating boxer, in real life, he's a nice guy. Sammo Hung helped Darren Shahlavi choreography the boxing fight giving Twister a more fluid boxer with muscles and speed. Twister became a disgrace. Ip Man could have killed him, but he spared him because he wants to teach Twister a lesson. Twister is embarrassed and humiliated in this defeat.
Taking away legs is like taking away a major part of Ip mans arsenal so if you ask me it was fair until they stopped him from using it
this thats like asking a boxer not to throw hooks or uppercuts or a wrestler not to fake jab before shooting they will have no easy way to setup for a win especially if its like say a wrestler fighting somone like a boxer who is hard to get in on since his main strength is grabbing up close since the punches would keep the grappler at bay and would make it very hard to finding a opening ive tried grappling vs boxing and let me tell you its fun for the first couple rounds until the boxer figures you out then your not gonna have another chance to get in again without a feint or him miss stepping from pressure
@@dr.dylansgame5583 The point is, there were no restrictions on Twister in the match while Ip Man was unfairly prohibited from kicking. Therefore, your reply isn't really relevant in this thread, same case for the one you added in my original comment in the video.
Twister challenged any Chinese fighter to a fight it was unspecified but implied that twister agreed to a mix martial arts match. The no kick was decision was made because they saw he could win. If it was strictly boxing up would have had gloves from the start. Don't wonder, watch the movie 🙏

Well Twister wanted to prove that Boxing is superior to Kung Fu, so it's only fair that Ip Man is allowed to do kicks. Too bad the corrupt referees banned Ip Man from kicks later on just to give Twister a better chance of winning. Thank god that didn't work.
Yea that’s facts bro, but I believe they should of started the matches with either kicking or no kicking.
@@jobbajobba Definitely allow kicking and no unfair rule changes, otherwise that defeats the purpose of what Twister wanted: To see which one's better: Kung Fu or Boxing.
