First, these units are very expensive. Second, you are using synthetic supplements for the plants, third, these plants do not taste the same. Take tomatoes for example they taste different based on each soil type. One thing these units don’t provide are the natural enzymes and microbiome expose presented in real soil. It’s great for places where you cannot grow in real soul but it is not superior farming.
Hmmm tbh Anything that's grown in the correct soil medium is Always going to taste better, that's just the way it is on that one imo 🤔 ... now hydro type systems are geared towards faster growth / yields 🌱👍
I have a Farmstand and it’s awesome. 36 ports for plants on 6 levels with 6 rows of glow lights. All of the other plants in the room love the extra light and grow like crazy.
This is a cool idea, however Im curious if the crops harvested from these systems have traces of BPA or PFAS(forever chemicals)? Does PVC tubing not have these chemicals?
Excellent question! These aeroponic towers are constructed from the highest quality UV-stabilized, BPA-free, food-grade plastic available. These aeroponic towers are constructed from high-quality resins that meet FDA and RoHS regulations for use in food contact applications.
You should ask him if the Sicce Syncra Silent pumps they use are also made from certified plastics that are BPA and PFA free. The pump is in contact with the water 24/7. If you dont get an answer, I`d suggest contacting Sicce directly, they should know what is in their products. :)
How to make nutrient?and each plant have different nutrients requirtment and each plant absorbe nutrients on different ph level.Could you make a video on nutrient making process
you buy ph meter some ph + and ph - check what requirements r for chosen plant and be sure to fill pot with the same plant if ph is to high you put in ph - if its to low you put in ph + steer and measure again you also put in nutrients in the water if you dont know what ph lvl your plant needs ask google or chatgpt
Buy a food safe barrel, cut hole in large enough to fit your starts, fill with desired soil and soak in water after planting. Grandfather been doing this for about 8 years
You could do this very easily with soil only down side would be getting an even distribution of nutrients you could add a hole above each plant so you can put fertilizer or liquid plant food directly on plant roots diluting the solution as you get to the bottom you'd also have to change soil every planting
Get back to me when the produce is the same quality as soil grown, and after that when you learn what a siphon is so it doesn't require 24/7 electricity.

I have a guava tree that bears fruit all seasons, during winters the guavas are super sweet and tasty whereas in monsoon they taste bland like the sweetness is all diluted.
I am absolutely loving the amount of water use for these plants. A little bit goes a long ways right? And check out all that plastic. Gotta keep those oil drilling jobs going. Or, just maybe, you can grow plants in the ground.
@@eM_Pee not the legit ones. Ive been watching prices for 4 years now. A small tower is 599. That doesn’t include the chemicals. They often sell a starter kit of the chems, basket and wool which is another 300 bucks.
Make the aeroponic tower out of tiling mastic buckets or similar Drill the bottoms to let water percolate. Or chinese bloke has trays and refills them daily. Make your own artificial growth soil using manure soil Break down zinc magnesium potassium etc and add as you wish. Put up a small plastic greenhouse and it will grow so fast... i think. Simple easy cheap fast.
Damn! Those towers are expensive! Amazon has the cheapest at $380. Last summer the worst problem in my newly acquired tiny garden were insect attacks of all kinds. Previous owners kept a few chickens but now nothing keeps the insects away.
If you need to get rid of the bad bugs then you will need more of the good bugs that eat the bedbugs. There’s a lot of information on RUclips concerning this and also when we make gardens we don’t do it like it would be done in nature, we want to space it out do an imperfect rose till the soil‘s and everything like that, which does not have to be done because that is when you actually ruined the soil and how it is naturally. So if you look up different ways of gardening which are like tilling the soil or basically just dropping the seeds right onto the ground and let them go from there and also look into doing a lot in one small area instead of spacing them out so much then that could help as well. Another thing that helps as well is if you’re going to have a garden then your best to also have very close by wildflowers just get the cheap wildflower seeds and sprinkle them out and let them go because you’ll have ladybugs and all those kind of sorts of insects that also help rid of the bad pests. There’s a lot of information that I have been looking into as well because I have had problems with aphids with doing apartment growing so I’m bringing the soil to me since I’m on the second floor and it’s very hard to keep the natural soils intact like it needs to be.
It’s so easy with a beginners price ranging from 200-600 for a decent one 😂 plus the maintenance and the knowledge needed, super easy for us poor folk!
Personally synthetic nutrients is an absolute damn nightmare for me I'd rather just go organic, u gotta know what your doing with synthetic nutrients with that or u won't grow a single fkn thing lol

think this set up is so amazing..i got a question when planted seedlings how long do u have the water running inside the towers? also is the water used on a circler pump..or fresh wayer is used from tap
The plants are irrigated intermittently 3 minutes on and 12 minutes off continuously. The towers are automatically filled up on an as needed basis via a gravity tank. We have the nutrients set on a 1 to 300 ratio using a dosing system known as a "Dosatron". Every liter of nutrients has 300 liters of water.
These aeroponic towers are made from the safest high-end UV-stabilized, BPA-free, food-grade proprietary plastic formula. The high-quality resins used in these aeroponic towers are compliant with both U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines for food contact and European guidelines for Restriction of Hazardous Substances.
We only use a 100% natural ionic mineral nutrient solution that contains all the essential minerals and trace elements for healthy plant growth. It's possible to use an organic nutrient solution, but doing so greatly increases the likelihood of creating water-borne diseases.

Thanks for raising those concerns. It’s innovative but there must be a lot of deficiencies. I’m curious more than ever to research.
you can use anything, as long the nutrient does not clog the shower cup

Thank you for this knowledgeable and extremely helpful comment Holly’s Hobbies. Was literally considering this in the future.
I've had a lot of questions on it myself. I can't see growing very large and nutrient rich plants in nothing more than water
Yea - not so fast Festivus, it’s a bit longer and more complicated than that - 👊 🌱

I'll just love this invention. You can feed so many people with this or even sell these vegetables. This is just amazing.
Thank you for the information 😊
You can make something similar with a large bucket, large pvc or irrigation pipes, heat gun, and a water pump with hose
This is a beautiful idea I love this
I know some planting in the artic circle will work love it!

Not as nutritious as food grown in healthy soil, but better than round up covered food
You either no buy reading the back of your fertiliser it should tell you
I've built one of these once. It was used indoors.
I would love to have a grow tower in my house so I can grow some veggies!

Very amazing so simple
Not sold on the soil-less idea, but I'm liking the vertical tower design, do they have soil versions?
I was thinking the same! I'm growing some upside down plants. I'll keep you posted! ruclips.net/user/shorts5pckWg12n5A
Me too. I'd love to have that kind of tower on my garden but with soil. It's a space saver.

Love it.. does summer season grows at the terrace?
I noticed you don't seem to have videos growing the humble celery ...
Note you need big power solar and big storage energy to run water pump
I like the basic idea. Let's trade out the plastic for tree trunks and make this method organic!
Good idea ,let’s cut all the trees down and make it organic
That was awesome 👌
Thanks I thought you had to fill with soil much easier in getting some
SO MUCH INTERESTING ON YOUR CHANNEL. THANK YOU!!!

Food without soil is not a good thing to consider.
Ahh, yes. Minecraft farming in real life.
It's hard cause this is cool, but it also relies entirely on artificial fertilizer, which we're running out of globally.
Having an aquarium or fish pond where you collect nutrient-rich water would be good 🤘
