It was really cool that you played the G3 and G4 back to back so we could hear the differences, but since you’ve got the Revv amp right there, it would have been nice to hear the pedals against the actual channels on the amp.
This is the Best demo of the ones I have heard,I have a G# pedal and I have to say love the G4's thickness and overall tone better,so looks like G4 will get ordered..Thank you Rabea for the awesmoe demo !
I love that you used the term, "observation" in discussing the differences between the two rather than as though they are being compared as competitors.
I’ve watched several reviews from different players on this pedal, and it seems like the G4 really shines with single coils due to the overall thickness and flatter EQ, while the G3 seems tailor made for humbuckers with its mid hump and “thinner” sound. Both excellent, very versatile pedals and this is one of the best demonstrations of it. Great job Rabea!
I've gotta tell ya that I've watched ALOT of videos to try to get an Idea as to the difference of these two pedals....BUT you're video here was the MOST informative in demonstrating that for me. Aside from your great playing, and aside from which pedal I like more...THE thing about this video was THAT IT HELPED ME MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE for myself....and minimize my guessing as to which pedal is best for what I'm looking for...And to me THAT is what a REAL pedal demo should be. Now I can feel easier about the cost of the pedal.knowing that it really is the one that will best suit me....and also gave me ideas for the futer when I may look for a different flavor...in the other of the two pedals you demoed so Thank you for doing what I really needed you to do...Make the right choice for me. GOOD JOB
Nice meetin' you at NAMM @ the Revv booth - I had a good test drive of the units @ NAMM & felt the same way about the G4 - thanks for this very informative demo. Great playing as always Rabea. T.
it's the colour grade. you can tell the shadows have been boosted in the blues. very easy to spot on the g4 closeups (the parts of the pedal with more shadows like around the knobs turns it blue). you can see it easily at 18:50
Hi Rebea, it's a long one and really important to me, i hope you read this. Hi Rabea! I hope you had a really good year. I'm a combat soldier (20 years old) who wants to take his guitar "journey" seriously. I have no time [or money] for a private teacher. My main problem is that i didn't have a teacher, i did it self taught but not as you, i wasn't organised at all. I'm standing today at the point that i know simple chords and improvising [but with no musical thinking if you know what i mean], and no theory knowledge. I do have the ambition and will to get better. I've searched on the whole internet for the best guitar courses that i think can build me up, i think yours is the best for it. Why? because you taught yourself and you know how to do it correctly. and. you are an amazingly creative musician and guitar player. BUT. Remember that i'm a combat solider? so i can't practice daily. i can practice like 1 day a week [it can change Obviously according to spacial operations and stuff like that]. Do you think it's possible? Obviously it's not ideal to practice just 1 day a week, but do you think its possible. During my time i have no guitar i can learn theory in someway. Before i buy your course i want to hear your opinion. Oh and btw, im going to buy the ML-2 Modern standard + Egnater Tweaker 15W, what do you think about it? Again, I really hope you see this comment and answer me. Have an amazing year! Take care, Haggai.
It's definitely possible to improve a lot. Not as fast as a non-soldier probably, but if you enjoy it you'll get good at it. Once a week is enough. Good luck man
Haggai Newman what kind if music are you into dude, what are some of your favorite bands and guitarists ? If you only have one day to practice that’s fine too . If you focus on a song or two, some licks and passages you can still progress if you only have one day use that day , all the best and thank you for your service !
Edit; it is indeed Incubus - Idiot Box. Gotta love how thick those inverted power chords sound. -Please help me before I think about this for infinity... what is that song around --12:00--? Incubus? It’s killing me!!- G4 sounds filthy... definitely more my thing than the G3.
For a Canadian pedal, it was a nice touch throwing in the Bryan Adams "Kids wanna rock" riff you slipped in there, Bea. Great sounding pedal, I had been considering picking up the G3 pedal, but now am leaning more to the G4.
Late to the show, have 3 of these pedals, G2/G3/G4 the problem I had with them ( apart from the G2) was as soon as you switch the aggression switch from centre it gets extremely noisy
Yeah it depends how much gain you have. And if you're running them on a clean channel or on an OD channel, or through the FX Loop. The G2 is quiet with any aggression on a totally clean channel. Blue and Red gets noisier if on a driven channel. This is to be expected with so much gain. Even the G2 has a lot of gain; but the difference with G3 and G4 is that the G2 can clean up, sparkle and barely break up if you dial the gain down, and it will kick ass if you up the gain or go with Blue/Red aggression on a dirty channel. It also depends on your guitar and pickups... high output pickups will be noisier and gainier.
@@paulanthony8335 Pair the Revv G4 with an overdrive or a nice EQ, and play around with them until you like the sound. If you don't like that idea, you can try the Mooer Black Truck. It's a multi-FX pedal geared toward metal. I use it with a Boss Katana 50 MkII, and the hi-gain plus the overdrive gets me some brutal sounds.
That sounds badass!! Can someone help me please? At the beginning, he says "in front of a clean amp" does that mean we are hearing the purest sound of the pedal? I'm getting this pedal but I have an old fender Mustang I v2 amp which doesn't even have an effect loop.. so if I plug my guitar into the pedal and the pedal into the only input of the amp, will it sound the same as it did in the very beginning of the video?
Krikey! The way the upper mid/treble frequencies compress, you should consider playing leads through this one ! Beautiful blooming single notes. I'd say she's a goer, eh?
Hey Rabea ! if you had to choose between the REVV G4 and the EVH 5150 pedal, which one would you pick for Hardrock and 90’s to modern Metal ? Really appreciate your vids. Cheers

Hi Rabea! First, HAPPY NEW YEAR and GOOD HEALTH, I wish you the best and hope you and all your loved ones will appreciate 2019 again better than 2018, and thanks for all demonstrations with huges sound, this last video tells me this pedal is a must have , with all that sucks in France like liberty , fraternity and equality erased by our government that's interesting that music still resonate to my ears :p and especially from you , such an inspiration , for you're my NUNO, and to me that's fucking important \m/
Rabea, Great video. Since the OX was introduced a lot of people have stated that it doesn’t do well on metal tones. This video seems to contradict that as it sounds crushing. Can you share your settings for cabs and mics on the OX?
Always helpful if you do NOT always roll off the volume on the guitar when auditioning distortion pedals. I like to know the noise floor (when you are not playing). Thanks.
Are my eyes tricking me or is that Revv pedal in a stone metallic blue?!!!! looks sick!!! The purple is sweet but my i'd like to know if that comes in blue since that's my favorite color!
The blue one has that 'honk' I don't like, and the Red one has the right sound...in this clip. Great to see a heads-up comparison. Well done. Gonna have to try it.

I have come to the conclusion that you simply can't decide between the G3 and the G4 based solely on YT reviews since they seem to sound very different from video to video. So I oredered both of them and see which one sounds better with my setup.
Awesome demo and playing!!! But when he compared them I thought the G4 sounded more modern because it's more scooped and the G3 sounded very warm and Queen like with its mids, however both pedals sound fantastic and I'm torn, but must score a pedal for my Dean Markley CD 30.

Was torn between this and the G3, but I found I liked the 4 best in all the demo vids.
Thanks Rabea! You rock dude!
Been loving the sound of that pedal from all these demos.
I wanna see some guitar playing dude!!

I think the G3 is not only mid-focused, but almost sounds muffled against the G4 - G4 while much fatter, is more scooped, which is what I like.
Thanks Rabea! I just ordered the G4 today...I enjoy your videos and you are a fantastic, inspiring guitar player.
How are you liking it?
I generally prefer tube amp distortion to any pedal distortion, but, I have to say, that’s some of the best pedal distortion I’ve ever heard.
Thought that too until i got the G3 pedal. I used to play a 5150 and an Orange.
Killeer demo. Really got a feel for the pedal. And awesome playing, no surprise there.
The entire strat demo has me in love with this pedal. Wish I could play half as good as Bea.
Love that you snuck in a little shine on you crazy diamond in there…great demo as always 🤙
I have 2 G4 Revvs. They are very different in the treble mids and bass. Both sound great. One is thicker and warmer.
Your videos are the best bc you do about half n half Riffs and Leads! Love the full chord strumming

Great demo! Nice that you A/B'ed the G3 and G4 near the end, very illuminating.
This video is very useful to me, 'cause I don't have an fx loop. Thx for playing through the clean channel.
Wow ! That crunch lab sounds great with that pedal !!!
Awesome bro! I love how you always play sick riffs that always suit how you set your tone/gain etc! 🤘🤘 Happy New Years Mate!
It does the pinch harmonics really well! Killer demo dude.
