Because she is living in her dream! I’d be smiling from ear to ear everyday if I got the opportunity to be on a broadway show. I don’t think I would be able to contain my excitement.
Part of the job 😂 theater and customer service both will teach you smiling goes further. I've gotten tips at a job where tips are not even CLOSE to expected, just for being so smiley. Had little old ladies tell me it's refreshing to see a happy young girl at work. When I'm not with a customer I have awful rbf so I always giggle about it cause I feel like I'm tricking em
i had to wear a long black wig as morticia and it wasn’t the heat that killed me, but the TIGHTNESS on my head 😭 we had a double header and i almost had a sensory overload meltdown bc of it. two wig caps over tight braids with a mic and a heavy long wig😮💨
bro working in theatre tech where i constantly have to change mic batteries/entire packs in like three minutes while actors are offstage between numbers, the pack between two wig caps PLUS a glued-down wig gave me hivessss😭😭😭😭
It’s probably her dedicated mic so she won’t have to take it off. I get that some theaters only have so many mic packs, but that’s some bad planning if you had to do that 😖
@@natara658 it’s not just about giving it to someone else. if the batteries die, or the mic is damaged onstage, we as technicians have to be able to access the pack, and sometimes change the mic completely. i agree with op, mics in glued down wigs is asking for trouble
@@natara658Our lead’s died right before 76 Trombones when my cast did Music Man. Things go wrong all the time, and the wonderful, probably magical, techs get to fix 90% of it.
@@madshamilton7693 lots of mic packs for these sorts of things have two mics attached in case one dies. I agree it’s not great just in case the battery dies, but I assume they have precautions in place that we don’t see because that’s not her job. Many stage performances hide their mic packs in the wig like this
I'm a cosplayer and I just cut my hair each time I have a con. For pictures I can photoshop how big my head gets with the wig but in person I can't so I just cut it at home or the hotel before getting dressed. This video has changed my life literally. Hopefully I can finally have long hair.
You can also comb/brush your hair in a circle using hair gel to mold it down. Start on one side and keep brushing in one direction then put the wig cap on. You could also braid it and pin the braids in a circle around the perimeter of your head then put the wig cap on. There are women everywhere with full heads of hair that wear wigs all the time. No need to cut your hair.
@@sandra-jonesTHIS. I take an inch around my hairline split in the front and toward my ears. I braid those sections tight to the scalp to keep my baby hairs from peeking out. Then I separate into two sections and braid front to back, then cross the braids in the back and pin the tails of the left braid to the body of the right braid and vice versa. When my hair is longer and I have more volume to hide I separate into more sections. The braids give a better anchor for pinning through the wig (or to sew into.) Less pins are needed and I don't even need a stocking cap most of the time. I usually just braid it the night before a con or Halloween to save stress day-of. I have curly hair longer than this woman and I don't need to cut it for wigs. Her method is probably more comfortable since the stocking caps/loose pin curls would be padding for the mic pack under the wig.

Girl you are gorgeous with both looks - natural blonde Goldilocks ringlets and bubblegum pink buffont curl!! But your big smile and vibrant happy energy that shines through is what makes you even more beautiful😊 🎉
LOVE this wig prep! i work w a lot of actors who cant do pincurls due to mobility issues, and this seems like a wonderful alternative. Thanks for sharing! ❤
I also have way too much hair and I used to do 2 french braids and then twist the ends up and pin them to my head, then add the wig cap over top. But sometimes that method makes some lumps and bumps. This seems easier and less painful, but maybe less secure?
This is SO WORTHY! Such a clever solution to a not-uncommon problem. Do you know how long it has been since I have seen a UNIQUE and very useful video? Me either, a long time though! I wish I could like this twice.
🙏 THANK YOU. So many people don’t understand that I can’t just put my hair in a bun and throw a wig on. 😂 there would be a growth on my head I love this and have to try it even tho I just cut a lot of hair off
i played frenchie in grease my sophomore year of high school! we couldn’t figure it how to get the wig over all of my hair, wish i could’ve seen this 4 years ago!
All I can think about is how in college I had a lot more hair than that and yet only needed 1 wig cap and had to deal with a quick change that was so fast I needed someone specifically to pin the second wig down as I stepped into the next pair of boots. My hair has never been that curly, but even curly girls I've known would rather braid. It's not that I didn't learn the multiple cap approach between costume crafts and stage makeup classes, but I honestly don't recall explanations for why it was beneficial. We all got by with a single wig cap because we were perpetually broke, even those that had near Circ levels of acrobatic choreography.
I'm in high school theater our little Mike's go on to our regular clothes and then we put the acting clothes over them and we put the mic either on our heads or on our faces and then one of the staff puts on her wigs
I dont have curly hair, but i have VERY thick waist length hair that sits like 10 cm on my head in a bun 😆 I will definitely be using this trick!! Thank you so much! I didnt know how to fit it in a wig~♡
how are you so smiley?? It's the cutest thing ever! Made my gloomy day a bit better! Thank you.
Theatre is how 😂 we learn to smile perfectly and constantly

I find it uncomfortable wearing one wig cap with my stage wigs. Let alone 3 🤣 love this wig!
That's what I was saying One hurts my head I was getting ahead and just watching this
Idk why, but I love wearing a wig cap
All I can think about is how hot my head would get. I overheat in a baseball cap sometimes lol this is another level.
Right? 3 caps + a mic + a wig + the stage lights??? Its crazy she can even focus after all that

Pink is SO your color, you're so beautiful
Does anybody else think. The hair Looks like Wanda. From the fairly odd parents. I love that show. 💖
YES that's exactly the vibe I'm getting. The fairly odd parents would probably maek a great musical too
I didn't know what this was at first and that's exactly what I thought it was, Fairly Oddparents cosplay 💀💀💀
i could be wrong but im pretty sure she’s playing Frenchy from Grease (musical ver) ! :)
Jan is such a fun character, the hair really matches!
I feel like I’d have such a bad migraine by the end of the show. But I’d imagine you’d get use to it
HUGE migraine, and for a one weekend show i never got used to it 😭
The post important part is dispursing the hair evenly. what a great process!
Dispersing 😊

Same, I do this for my shows and my cons
If you try this make sure you take some pain medication. Yoy WILL have a headache 😊

@ Frankie
I love this!
I had never thought about doing two caps like that. Game changer.
three after the mic pack. i can only imagine the level of scalp sweat...
My thoughts
Please just do cornrows. It stays longer and looks flatter
your smile is so stunning
The shirt is everything 😂
She's so pretty!!😊
Thank you
I cannot imagine how sweaty your head must get that’s insane!

Perfect casting for this character! She is so sweet and bubbly
Who is she playing?
@@bexmwI assume Frenchy.

You look SO adorable with pink hair 😍
Wow that wig is gorgeous. The lace is insane, look so real!

Your natural hair is so beautiful. I just had to say it
Your natural hair is AMAZING!!
Your smile is the most beautiful thing ever

Saw you all in Hull, you have the most beautiful expressive face ive ever seen! You were amazing as Frenchy x
YOU LOOK SO GOOD AS FRENCHY
I’m subscribing because I need your vibe and joy in my everyday life
Nick so did Cosmo and Wanda wrong when they were made into 3d animated bobbleheads for the live action stuff. They needed someone like you!
I'm head of costumes for my school's theatre dept and this is so cool to watch!!
Katie killed it
Watching Broadway performers get ready has always made me want to join them more
you were so so amazing in dublin!!! such a fab cast and youre amazing as frenchiee !!!
Your natural hair is so pretty!
Omfg that wig is so beautiful
The sound in the beginning of this video sunds like my doorbell😭 scared the crap out of me🫠
Using two wig caps is actually genius! I have a lot of hair and wigs are always a pain… might have to try that next time I wear a wig!
The mic pack goes IN the wig cap?? Genius! My head would get so sweaty with all the layers though.
Isn't that hot? Just wearing a cap due to hair loss due to chemo had me boiling a couple year's ago. You're a champ!
ur natural hair is soo gorgeous😍
Love how you put your mic battery between wig caps!

Yeah but it's good for the girls with a like less hair too
How's your headache at the end of skews 😫😫😫
Anyone else instantly see Wanda from Fairly Odd parents when the wig went on! Love it ❤
Im so jealous at your curly hair.
You have a lively shaped face, even with just the stocking cap on! How cute are you! ❤😊❤
I would recommend doing cornrows for curly hair like yours since it’s works well on mine
Your smile made me smile. Jsut wanted to let you know, thank you :)
I’m totally gonna try this method out!!
Your natural hair is absolutely beautiful. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
Katy ate that wig up bb 🔥🔥❤️❤️
Oh my god I went to this show with my school , we did this play for our school year !! U were unreal 💞💞💞
I love your beautiful blonde curly hair ❤
Oh my god! Katie did my wedding makeup 5 years ago. So glad to see her doing well ❤
no way!! what a small world 🌍
I live in Florida and broke out in a sweat just watching you put all those layers over your already gorgeous and thick hair 🤣😂🤣
You could dye your hair pink, it’s such a cute color on you! but that the fun of wigs too.
Omg, I love your shirt lmao

I love Grease!
Soo beautiful!!! You have such an amazing smile darlin!❤ hope you have a beautiful day!!
Pink fits you!!!
Why this instead of a ponytail or braid? Is this way flatter?
probably. im guessing a ponytail would create a lump in the wig cap rather than a circular surface for the wig to be placed on
I doubt it’s flatter but maybe more comfortable
She said in a reply that she just likes her hair to stay curly outside of shows, and those styles will ruin her tight curls
You are so pretty😊
I am surprised it stays on. The pink Bobby pins are adorable.

Your living my childhood dream ❤
You are so beautiful and love the pink wig ❤❤❤❤❤
Girl, I need that shirt ong🙏❤
Beautiful hair
I HAVE THAT TOP!!!
My head hurts thinking about all those wig caps
I SAW YOU IN DUBLIN YOU WERE AMAZING!! so was the wig 🤭 me andmy friends were obsessed with you and your performance❤❤❤
You could just braid the hair, or 4 plaits, 2 cornrows..anything else..and stick 1 cap on…4 is insane for the perimeter of the head lol
I went to see u last Saturday and I have to say you are the best frenchy I every saw love u ❤❤❤❤
I want that robe so bad ❤
i think you should have pink hair it looks really nice on you

I do 4 braids and put them on my head with pins, then the wigcap and the wig. That works best for me
I love the t shirt lmao
Where is that top from?!? I love it!
You're gorgeous
Need that shirt
wish i saw this before last Halloween!
