Imagine the frustration of us who went through the entire period. We were so stocked for the Renaissance concept... How grand would it have been if BTF had been made as title track. But unfortunately the company's agenda take precedence ugh!!! I'm still so mad thinking how we missed out on how glorious Super Junior could have been on their 15th year, being the royals of Kpop with their Renaissance concept 😭😭
with so many delays that happened in this album resulted to this diversity of the genre.. 4 songs were released before the official release of House Party on March 2021. they were targeting first to release it Nov for their anniv, then moved to Dec, that's why there's Tell Me Baby, which they released Christmas Day. and oh yeah, this is composed by Donghae, my love 🤗
Great album review. going forward, would be nice if we could listen from the beginning of their career. We start with Twins and then finally we move down further to Time Slip. This way we’re able to reminisce and see their career progression throughout the 17 years (their albums always are this diverse). I believe new ELFs haven’t yet visited their early works and they can enjoy them together in this listening party/review. Thanks.

Uy, you took me on a journey today. Thinking back to this period, gods... While I've been a fan since forever ago, I had not been paying much attention to Suju before the pandemic (after SS7), but being alone during quarantine made me look for comfort and company and I found Suju again. By the end of the year I was super hyped up for the comeback! the anniversary event was fun and looong, The Melody was the perfect song... but it was easy to tell things weren't ready. Suju went to a lot of shows and had to explain they were there to promote something that didn't have a date nor a title track yet. There's a ton of stuff that came out at the end of the year for build up to the album released that got lost because of it (you could react to it at some point, all those clips are in their yt channel with eng subs, it's full of Suju humour and clowning). At the same time, we could not complain about lack of content, at all. In 2020 we got Suju stuff one way or the other every month of the year, specially at the end. Then finally we got a date and a new title track in 2021. By that point, ELFs were already in love with Burn the Floor, and had dealt with the whiplash of getting that performance video, and the next week the animated christmas song XD it was hard to let go of what everyone had build up in their heads. With perspective, I'd say that House Party wasn't the wrong choice. We all love Burn the Floor, but I really do think House Party was needed at the time. BTF worked perfectly for the end of 2020, but HP came out in winter/spring of 2021, when we were all tired and stressed because we had hoped to be past the pandemic and we weren't, we needed a pick me up. My only real annoyance with the album itself is the order of the songs, that could have been better. And what did frustrated me about the delay is that Yesung's album had to be pushed back as well, if not we would have had it a lot sooner! ;)
I think you have the right idea about repackaging this album, this needs a second life. BTF needs a bigger platform... it's such an outstanding song/performance and nobody else but SJ can do justice to it. On another note, listening to you dissect the vocals of More Days With You.... well, I just wanted to give you props for that because you painted such a good picture, I could feel the ebb and flow of the music in my chest and the swell every time Kyu's voice comes on.
OH IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING! 😭😭😭 ELF was preparing themselves for their 15th anniversary since the year prior! And SJ label didn't do anything. They started working on the album later and then covid happened which killed all productivity and the delays started happening. We had been told we would get a documentary for their 15th anniversary in the end it didn't happen 😭. Then the concept changed when they were suddenly given House Party. I think SM also used HP to fill it with Kwangya universe references. 😔 I really think they could have given us BTF as a title track promote with it first and HP second. There was no need for HP to be tittle track 😭. Reaction channels rarely react to Performance videos so unless we spammed them with BTF requests the song was hidden to the reaction community. 😔
That's why Eunhyuk subbed a lot of Kyuhyun's parts in Super Show 7. Also, Christmas in Australia is often about 33 C lol

I can really tell how much you adore More Days With You like ypu have reacted to this songs 4x now but the butterflies, the giggles and that smile on your face never fade away. There's always something to talk about that song and no matter how many times we listened to it, there's always something new realization and it feels very nice. But cant blame you coz same here.
I've been an ELF since 2009, and I have to say, I loved the whole Renaissance theme with the story book! I was so disappointed when House Party kind of changed the direction. (Don't get me wrong, I love House Party! but... with it coming after the gorgeous, masterpiece of Burn the Floor... it seemed weird. LOL) The Renaissance Album itself is probably my favorite album! I absolutely LOVE the album! Burn the Floor is probably my favorite SJ song of all time. Mystery, Paradox, More Days With You are in my favorites. And SUPER makes me happy (tho I would love a full version hehehe). I can't tell you how excited to see so many of my favs from that album during the Beyond Live of SS9! (Wasn't that such a fantastic concert? Best ever!)

IMHO Renaissance Album should not go to that Direction and BTF should be the tittle track but Covid happend then the direction of Album change and we robbeb from that Renaissance concept.
If you listen all album in SJ, they B side is the hidden gems, they always choose up beat tempo as they title track but the Ballads are what showcase their diverse vocals and their Ballads always better.
Before mistery and Paradox they have ticky tocky and shadow which share dark concept music. And yes, I love Ticky tocky and Mistery.
Raining Spell of love both original and remake version are good. But i prefer the remake because in original the part of each member are not equally and i need to listen yesung voice, because to be honest, i love all SJ voices of course but for me, Yesung voice is the one that makes me in love with Super junior song, i only listen SJ with yesung voice.
Thats why i skip all mamacita, this is love and any songs without his voice until i listen in SS7, not because it not good song just because i need his voice.
It just a matter of preference.

Uhm.. I actually have a mixed feeling when talking about this The Renaissance album, I do love love this album so much because of how advanced they're all here. However I also feel sad that it went this way and didn't get to shine more as well as the delay that feels so uhmm yeah... :( Btw thanks a lot for doing this album listening, it's reminded me how much I love this package and that this kind of masterpiece really exists.
the 8- 9- 10 album are gold i cant get over no drama but i love all their albums am i brain washed by love ?
actually i like mystery a lot. i mean from the 10th album mystery is my favourite, cause somehow mystery remind me of midnight blue if it's make sense. but ofc, midnight blues is the standard, that song is superior. but idk i just get midnight blues vibe from mystery
I think they all know how incredible that initial theme was but they made a very bold decision mostly because there can be another chance for that kind of concept (I hope) to see the light, I think they didn't want to waste such a theme, as it seems only Burn The Floor was fitting the concept so I don't know is it COVID, the songs or the preparation time ... still hoping for a full renaissance theme album 🙏 it will be epic.

The only complain I had of this album was that there were too many versions a whole 13 of them. The delay though frustrating at the time gave ELF the opportunity to save for the release because though we would've still bought all versions as this is our Olympic. The delay have us enough time to recover from Time_Slip, I Think U and Stars which all had many versions themselves. I just wished the storybook version preview was available for purchase. I would've much prefer it to the individual members version album.
Paradox & mystery in ss9 is 🔥🔥
I loved the experimental concept for some of the songs on this album. I just can’t wait until you react to the timeslip/timeless album, SJ went really dancy with that one(there’s no ballad on that album).
I hope to see your reaction to the other albums 🥺 each one is unique and their music always surprises you because they are always trying new styles 😄
